Actually, there were no plans to open gender classes at the school. It so happened that in the spring, at a meeting where the parents of future first-graders met the teachers, 22 boys and only 3 girls signed up for Tatyana Semyonova's class. The parents refused to transfer the children to other teachers, saying that they wanted to teach children exactly from Tatiana Semyonova. Then the school administration proposed to organize a boy's class. In addition, another teacher who recruited first-graders, Evgenia Naumova, had just defended her dissertation on gender education and the psychological characteristics of teaching boys and girls.

Of course, she wanted to apply her knowledge in practice, and therefore she agreed to take a class of girls. Now the school administration, the city education department, and the parents are watching over the 2nd and 2nd d. Everyone admits that there is still no big difference between children from separate and mixed classes, but even now we can talk about the intermediate results of the experiment.

Psychologists believe that boys are more successful in writing tests at the beginning of the lesson, and girls in the middle. The teachers took this feature into account, and here's the result: while children from separate classes study more successfully. According to teachers, schoolchildren are not embarrassed or distracted by the opposite sex, which means they think more about their studies. And there are many such psychological moments.

- The boy will not worry about how a cute girl will react to his answer at the blackboard, the girl will not be embarrassed at the thought of the boy, will raise her hand and answer the teacher's question. It turns out that they are focused only on the subject of the lesson, - explain the teachers who work with 2 c and 2 days.

There is already weighty proof of the effectiveness of separate education - in the girls' study there are certificates for the first places in competitions for knowledge of the Russian language.

- In practice, I realized how girls differ from boys. For example, even knowing the answer, the girl will remain silent and wait until someone answers. In general classes, boys are the first to raise their hands, but here they are not. At first, this was very disturbing: each knew the answer, but was silent, because she was afraid to make a mistake. Sometimes it seemed to me that I was teaching a lesson in an empty classroom. But, if the students are praised, next time they will respond more actively. In this case, the girl needs to be praised, even if she was mistaken, otherwise the next time she will again become intimidated. It is interesting that the guy will not understand this approach and will then think for a long time why he was marked for the wrong answer, - notes the class teacher of 2 d Evgenia Naumova.

Some teachers like to work with the girly class.

- Girls are just a dream. They are calm, they never scream. Boys from the 2nd century are, of course, more active than girls from the gender class. But in comparison with the general class, the boys have higher discipline, they react more calmly to the teacher's remark. In ordinary classes, boys in a similar situation can bicker with the teacher to show off in front of the girls,”music teacher Elena Titova shares with the RG correspondent.

- We are all equal here. My boys immediately put hooligans in their place, so everyone behaves with dignity. For example, a student came to us from the general class, where he fought the most. So my guys re-educated him very quickly, - says the class teacher 2 in Tatyana Semenova.

From the general classrooms, annoyed shouts of teachers are heard every now and then, and in the gender classes there is silence. We attended the lessons and made sure: the discipline here is really excellent. In addition, it is easier for teachers to understand the specifics of teaching children of a particular gender. For example, in physical education, boys compete more and train strength, and girls develop grace and plasticity. In labor lessons, girls weave from beads, knit or build houses for dolls, and boys assemble constructors.

However, students in separate classes actively communicate with each other. For example, they congratulate each other on the holidays. On the day of our visit, on the eve of March 8, the young ladies were impatiently waiting for their gentlemen. At a literature lesson, young people went to the next class and, standing in a line at the blackboard, read poetry. The solemn atmosphere did not prevent the boys from smiling at the girls, and those from embarrassed giggle, hiding a smile in their palms. In conclusion, the guys gave each lady a doll.

- We already have couples who are friends, communicate at recess. The fact is that from the first day we began to develop the feminine principle in girls. Already now they differ from their peers and even somehow behave more dignifiedly, - says Evgenia Naumova. - We even have a place for romance, when boys and girls await meetings with trepidation, pass notes to each other. This is what the rest of the students are deprived of.

It is interesting that if in the first grade the boys were too restless and had to be reassured, and the girls were silent, then in the second grade the tomboys became more balanced, and the shy girls became self-confident. In general, it was decided to extend the experiment to grade 11, which the parents are only happy about. The popularity of segregated education is growing. Having learned about the innovation, second-graders from other parts of the city were specially transferred to school number 34. But no one is in a hurry to move to the general class.

- Study with the boys? No, we don’t want to. What for? We already communicate with them. And it's more fun to be friends with girls, we are similar and therefore we have the same interests, - the girlfriends Vika, Darina and Nastya think.

In a conversation with the "RG" correspondent, the parents noted that they are glad of the child's success, many are ready to send their younger children to the gender class.

Natalia Govorukhina, director of school number 34:

- The prerogative of determining the composition of the class remains with the educational institution, therefore, before the start of the school year, we did not need to coordinate separate education with the education department or the ministry. All that is needed is the desire of the parents. Not all of them are ready for change. Last year, when recruiting first grade, we conducted a survey, and adults did not want to teach girls and boys separately. This year we will again be questioning parents, and it is possible that by September classes for girls and boys will appear in the school again.

Natalia Vasyagina, Head of the Department of Educational Psychology, Professor of the Institute of Psychology, Ural State Pedagogical University:

- The advantage of gender education is that children are not distracted and better assimilate educational material. If separate education takes place in a regular general education school, the disadvantages are minimal. But graduates of schools where only boys or only girls study will not be able to harmoniously communicate with the opposite sex.

We have observed several gender classes. In one case, the study was conducted for a year, in the other, for two. As a result, we came to the conclusion that there are no psychological differences between children from separate and common classes. When choosing a form of education, parents should think about what they want to give their child - the opportunity to learn or communicate better.
