After reading, I wanted to write my own small analysis of the work. This is not a review, if you are interested in reading the reviews and the book, you can do this here:, but I’ll talk about the meaning.

First, a brief story: rats and one cat suddenly and accidentally learned to speak, plus they gained self-awareness, in short, they became people in the skin of rats and a cat. At the suggestion of the cat, they began to steal money from people (“people exist to give us money”) and on a large scale, throwing entire cities for money (the cat Maurice justifies this by saying that this is money from the “government”, so you can).

Rats learn more deeply their new thinking skills and are given the meaning of existence, they have a dream to buy an island for themselves and there to establish a settlement of intelligent rats.

And now it was decided to steal the money for the last time. A gop-company comes to the next city, and something terrible and terrible happens there. A "rat king" is found in the city - I will omit the details, but like a mutant, capable of investing his thoughts in rats and people and dreaming of taking over the entire city. In a tough battle, our acquaintances win, then destroy all the unreasonable rats. Then comes the "happyend" - Maurice persuades the intelligent rats to stay in the city, agreeing to live in harmony with people.

The first meaning, which on the surface, is not to chase after a beautiful deception, but to live reality and learn to negotiate.

However, the impressions after reading were mixed. On the one hand, this book is powerful, it goes straight to deep concepts like the meaning of life, gives a completely acceptable first meaning. On the other hand, there was some painful feeling, something sticky and dirty. Expanding this feeling, I realized that the first meaning is a shiny attractive wrapper for a very honest poop.

So, the second meaning. Just as a person can be judged by his words or slogans that he utters (the first meaning), and by his deeds (the second meaning), so any book can be judged by the first meaning that catches the eye, and by what IMAGE of ACTION is laid into the unconscious of the reader - this is the second meaning about which I would like to say a few words.

So, the veil of a group of comrades fell from their eyes and they saw their sight - they saw what kind of rats they were; the youngest and most advanced consider everything rat - dirty and despise their rat instincts. Then they meet a certain tyrant - an absolute evil that oppresses poor rats, climbs into their heads (propaganda), removes the breed from the most powerful and agile, dreams of expanding its territory, in general, completely intolerant. What to do in this case? It is clear that - not sparing their lives to attack him and kill all his associates, to clean up the territory to zero and build a new bright life. Further, in no case go after your dream, but come to terms with the role of servants of people.

It turns out a straightforward manual for liberals: in any country the leader is a tyrant, kill him and everyone who is with him. Since you are the second grade (rats), then, of course, you will be servants, you will receive a packet of cookies and a barrel of jam for the resources of your country, if, of course, you agree to serve the new masters.

I looked a little about the author. It turned out. Attention. It was for this book that the author received an award from the hands of the queen herself. That is, she, apparently, is also able to cut through the second meanings, but rather, one of the closest "assistants" advised her. Second, the author died of Alzheimer's. Well, yes, everything is also confirmed. In the book, there is an exorbitant level of cynicism - that is, in fact, this worldview is "the world is shit."

For each disease, I usually look at Louise Hay or S. Lazarev to find the root cause of the disease (the problem of consciousness), then I look at what homeopathy says on this topic (that is, the level of the problem of the body). Let's summarize. I do not advise you to read this book or any other by this author. Moreover, to invite children to read. It affects the psyche, it can affect the fragile one unpredictably. Author from the category of evil sorcerers. I could describe many more interesting points in the book, there are many “second meanings” or modes of action in the book. A cynical attitude towards life is also conveyed. For example, there are "intelligent" beings who are all equal, but some are "more equal." There is no need to try to build a happy society - this is all cheating, be content with the position of a servant. And so on and so forth. I do not presume that the author was trying to shove all this into our unconscious consciously, I am almost sure that he just thought so himself. In fiction, in general, very often what is in the author's unconscious is poured onto paper.
