“In the last three to four years,” writes the popular French edition Boulevard Voltaire. “People in Europe, and in a broader sense of the West, are regularly confronted with claims that the economy of our eastern neighbor is weak. In reality, the opposite is true."

“The West, faced with humiliating challenges for itself, which Russia has demonstrated one by one in recent years, simply invented this myth in order to cheer itself up through its own press. And to be honest, there is a reason to cheer, because Vladimir Putin not only won a triumphant victory in the elections, but also achieved dramatic successes in Syria, demonstrated advanced military equipment, withstood consolidated pressure, and NATO even signed that Russia was completely superior to the alliance in supersonic, strategic shield and a number of other areas. “Yes, Russia is strong,” you might say, but is this really about the economy? I'm afraid to upset many of you by continuing further, but yes - it does. Take, for example, the most recent statement by our authorities that the Russian economy is allegedly so weak that it is at the same level as the Spanish one. Let's clarify this thesis.

According to research by such serious Western organizations as FMI (and the center is located in Washington), in 2017, Spain's GDP amounted to $ 1768 billion, while Russia has almost the same indicator as Germany - $ 4149 billion. That is, even according to this criterion, Russia is the fifth or sixth economy in the world. But that's not all. Russia ranks third in the world in terms of electricity consumption. Since Putin came to power in 2000, Russians' wealth has tripled. And the economic growth now, which has declined since 2013, still amounted to 1.5%, which is the same as in France. What about unemployment? In Russia, it is much lower than here - only 5%. In addition, the drop in economic growth, which was mentioned above, was associated not with Western sanctions, but with a decrease in oil prices. On the contrary, sanctions, all these stupid and archaic protectionisms, only contributed to the emergence of a strong and more profitable domestic economy in Russia.

And here Western experts invented another myth - allegedly Russia is completely dependent on profits from the export of gas and oil. But the numbers say exactly the opposite! Oil today accounts for only 29% of Russian GDP - this is a lot, yes, but still it is a smaller part of it! The remaining 71% of GDP has nothing to do with oil. Comparing Russia with Venezuela, as the French Foreign Minister once did, is completely ridiculous.

And what about the budget? The national debt in Russia is 22 percent of GDP against 96 percent in France! Taxes in the Russian Federation are several times lower, and this is recognized even by the American analytical center Heritage Foundation. And don't forget about exchange rate devaluation! Taking it into account, you can add at least a third to Russia's GDP.

In other words, some may not like it, but Russia is undoubtedly the second or third world economy after China and the United States. And if Putin (who has achieved such success) lacks a "strategic vision" according to our authorities, then what about France and even the United States, which are mired in crazy debt and trade wars?

As always, the reality is not what our politicians present it to us …

Elites of France are hiding the truth again …"
