Many have heard of telegonia. An article about how proven telegony is and about gaps in evidence.

I apologize in advance for any possible errors or inaccuracies. I also didn’t want to offend anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings.

Several years ago I learned about the theory of telegony. Over time, some questions arose, the answers to which could not be found. Actually, this was the reason for writing the article.

Let's start by defining what telegony is. In general, telegony is the influence of the first man (sometimes there is a version that all subsequent ones) in a woman's life on all her children, even if they were conceived from other men. In other words, a woman's children will have signs (both purely external and internal (character traits)) not only of their biological father, but also of all men with whom their mother had sexual contact before pregnancy. Or the children will only look like the first sexual partner.

The confirmation of the theory is usually based on 3 (three) examples:

  1. Lord Morton's mare,
  2. Telegonia has long been known to dog breeders and those who breed pigeons,
  3. World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow in 1957 (some cite the 1980 Olympics as an example).

And so let's look at these examples:

1) In the 1820s, Lord Morton decided to cross an Arabian karak mare and a quagga stallion (an exterminated subspecies of zebras whose front part of the body had a striped color, and the back color was like a horse (article in Wikipedia "Quagi")). As a result, the mare did not become pregnant, but later, having crossed the same mare with a white stallion, she received offspring with signs of quagg. (Wikipedia article "Lord Morton's Mare"). Also in the articles there is information that he did not cross with a quagga, but directly with a zebra.

Then I have the following questions:

- Was this the first mating in the life of that mare;

- Since there are known cases of preservation of sperm in animals, it is necessary to know after what time the mating with a horse stallion was made;

- did that mare still have foals and who did they look like?

By the way, now in the world there are officially 4 (four) zebroids (a hybrid of a zebra and a horse), i.e. in principle, crossing a zebra and a horse is possible;

2) Dog breeders and pigeons. Information circulates around the Internet that if a white dove is trampled by a cisar (non-pedigree pigeon), then it is immediately discarded (the neck is folded) (since it will not bring purebred pigeons anyway - "a waste product"). It's just interesting how the pigeons keep track of this, because pigeons are not kept in a cage all the time, and sometimes they are allowed to fly. They return, of course, but as far as I understand it is difficult to keep track of where and with whom they flew. Again, there are many pigeons (male and female) in the dovecote. Everyone knows about swan pairs, but somehow I never heard of pigeon pairs. Hence the question: telegony applies only to pigeons of a different breed, or even to another male. The following are examples with dogs, one of which is described by Ilf and Petrov in the book "12 chairs". By the way, a fiction book (not scientific) about the adventurer Ostap Bender, where some life phenomena and situations were described with humor. (It is quite possible to assume that this example is an exaggerated description of someone's ideas). There is also a description of a similar phenomenon in the book by Jaroslav Hasek about the soldier Švejk. It is believed that in elite dog clubs, if a purebred dog is covered by a non-purebred male, then there will be no normal puppies from it (regardless of whether the dog becomes pregnant or not). Forgive me, but if the dog is mated with different purebred males (of the same breed), then the puppies will be from the first from the current one. Again, I have not heard about the prevalence of dog pairs either (although there are always exceptions, even in cats). Although almost everyone knows about wolf pairs.

3) Festival of Youth and Students (or Olympics-80). Nine months after the festival, many white girls had black children (in this regard, the question of universal morality in the USSR is interesting). It didn't surprise anyone then. But a few years later, black children were born to white women from white men. A very interesting confirmation, moreover, it is relatively not distant in time, there is a theoretical chance to find at least one of those people. But until they are found, I will voice a few questions:

In Soviet times, many foreign students from friendly countries (including Africa) studied at our universities (including in Moscow). The question is, who canceled the banal betrayal?

By the way, one of the ways to check paternity (the result is certainly not 100%) by blood group. The combination of certain blood types of the mother and father gives the child other blood types that may or may not coincide with the parent's. For example, the combination of the first groups gives only the first group, and the combination of the fourth blood groups gives any other than the first. (Who cares can read the Wikipedia article "Blood type", which gives a table of inheritance of blood groups depending on the combination of father and mother's blood groups. There are also calculators on the Internet that calculate the probability of a particular blood group in a child depending on the blood groups of the parents)

At that time, this information should have been known (at least to specialists).

This is certainly not a DNA paternity test, but nevertheless it could either refute paternity, or at least somehow confirm it.

Have those children been tested for paternity using this method?

Again, did these couples still have children, and if so, which ones?

Supporters of Telegonia do not give this information.

Well, and a number of other questions:

- If telegony exists, how does it work?

- Through what, and how is information about the first (and all subsequent) sexual partners transmitted and consolidated?

- Does the effect of telegony extend to males (the effect of the first female)?

- Does the body have the ability to cleanse itself? For example, bruises and scratches heal on their own, and the body copes with not too serious diseases without much help. In case of poisoning, the body somehow removes harmful or unnecessary substances. There are a lot of sperm in the semen, but only one fertilizes the egg. The rest must somehow be excreted from the woman's body.

- Are there any ways (rituals) of purification and if there are, why the supporters of Telegonia either do not talk about them, or mention them in passing without going into details. What should those who have made a mistake do? As they say, they identified the problem, please, show the ways of solving this problem. In addition, some supporters of this theory are almost priests of a very high level of initiation, and in theory they should know this. This information could correct the situation if it is as catastrophic as it is said to be. If these rituals exist, then they should be brought to a wide range of people. In the end, not always a girl loses her virginity of her own accord, and no one has canceled the seductive pick-up artists. And what should a girl do who just happened to be at the wrong time and in the wrong place or made a mistake (from which, by the way, no one is immune)? To climb into a noose, or not to know family happiness and happiness of motherhood because of … not good and irresponsible people? Is this really justice?

- We managed to find a description of some rituals. But in the descriptions, in my opinion, there are drawbacks - often too vague, using not too clear terms, or difficult to fulfill in modern conditions, and most importantly, there is no clear criterion for the success of the ceremony. In medicine, there are symptoms of a disease, a method of treatment, and criteria for recovery.

- There was also information that true mutual love can erase (rewrite) information about the first partner. So maybe, or erases. Because maybe it means: maybe yes, maybe not.

- And what about children who have already fallen under the effect of telegony? It's not their fault. And for something they came to this world (for believers: for something, God sent them to earth).

- Another of the arguments of the supporters of telegonia: the dissemination of this information helps to improve the morality of people, strengthen families. Is it really? About strengthening families. A man who learns that his children may not be his children will also love them very much and will not regret that he did not marry a virgin? Here's something I doubt it. And telegony gives no less opportunity for licentiousness than there is now. Let's say a girl got married and her husband was her first man. In the future, if she stops loving him (this is if she originally married for love at all), then she can calmly cheat on him - the children will still look like her first man - her husband. By the way, why was female infidelity so condemned? After all, if the husband was the first man, then what's the difference, according to the telegony, the children are still from him.

- In this regard, the question of choice is interesting. Suppose a guy fell in love (for real) with a girl, but she is not a virgin (no matter for whatever reasons: either she was stupid in her youth, or there are a lot of maniacs per square kilometer). And what is this guy to do? On the one hand, if he listens to his heart, then he will not have normal children. On the other hand, he can put telegony as a priority factor. But forgive me where is the guarantee that in the future he will still meet a virgin, and if he does, it’s not a fact that they will have a normal relationship, again a question of conscience (as it’s not good to leave his beloved and break her heart). What will young men be guided by when choosing a life partner: how their characters are compatible, what kind of mother the girl will be, etc. or her virginity. I am certainly not a supporter of promiscuity, but in my opinion morality should be based on correct education and understanding why and for what it is needed, and not be the result of unproven hypotheses.

- Telegony explains that children are born with poor health, or congenital diseases. But why precisely because of the telegony, and not in connection with the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs or some other reason.

- And personally, I do not understand why nature (God, Allah, Buddha, the Universal mind, etc., because the essence does not change from the name) generally provide for telegony. In my opinion, this is an element of the type of vulnerability that excludes the possibility of error, and minimizes variability.

After all, if a girl was mistaken in choosing her husband, then if the theory of telegony is correct, she has little chance of fixing something. Or, for example, in the village some kind of "Casanova" will seduce half of the girls, then in the future, giving birth to children from their husbands, they will give birth to children from the seducer. Taking into account the fact that there is not too much population in the village, in the future there may be a threat of closely related marriages (by the telegony of children from the seducer). Again, no one canceled the raids of hostile tribes, which for a small tribe can become fatal, it will not be possible to recover.

- And in the environment of wild animals, monogamy for life is not to say that it would be such a frequent occurrence (Only swans and wolves are remembered at a glance (although any species of animals can have exceptions, namely exceptions)).

- It is also argued in favor of telegony that children may not be like their parents. But the fact is that traits can be inherited through a generation. I am certainly not an expert in genetics. However, I have a friend who has two daughters, moreover, the eldest does not look like either him or his wife, but a spitting-out grandmother (both externally and character traits).

And finally, a little discussion about who telegony will be important for. The likelihood of telegony will most likely be taken into account by men oriented to long-term serious relationships, focused on creating a family. This is unlikely to stop pick-up artists and dissolute comrades. Will women take into account telegony? What for? Telegony defines paternity and is only important for men. A woman is always the mother of her child.

The bottom line is that if telegony exists, then there are many gaps in it that need to be filled.

In this article, I did not set myself the goal of refuting the telegony, just as I did not set out to confirm it. I just want to understand this issue.

I really hope that there will be articles by other authors who know more than me and will be able to answer at least some of these questions.
