In this review, we do not set the task of humiliating or somehow offending the individuals shown - they have ruined their own lives beyond nowhere - we are only talking about the fact that the creation of such programs and their demonstration to a mass audience is nothing more than propaganda of vice.

One of the rules that we try to observe in our activities is not to criticize little-known media products (films, cartoons, TV shows), since the line between criticism and advertising is always very thin. Nevertheless, in the case of the documentary series "The Third Floor", shown first to foreign and then to Russian audiences by the Russia Today TV channel, we consider it necessary to make an exception. In our estimation, such "trial balloons", especially on the main informational mouthpiece of Russia, cannot be left unanswered by the public. Now, in fact, about what was the reason for the video review.

As it is clear from the title and from the presented video sequence, the program is dedicated to perverts whom modern media, including the Russia Today TV channel, call the Western euphemism “transsexuals”. The plot describes in detail the peculiarities of their lives: how they perform gender reassignment surgery, participate in beauty contests, build their relationships with men, communicate with loved ones, and get married. The camera exposes the "get-together" of perverts closed from the eyes of normal society, but depicts them not as a mistake of nature, not as sick people who need help or at least compassion, but on the contrary - it shows them as such "heroes of our time" who, despite the pressure of society, follow their voice. inner I. All this sickening sight is presented as an absolutely familiar phenomenon for Russian society. Moreover, those who decry gender reassignment or any other deviations from the norm are shown in this documentary series as angry and limited people. They are defiantly criticized even for an attempt to simply refuse to communicate with sex-reassigned relatives and impose the opinion that one must be more tolerant. In this review, we do not set the task of humiliating or somehow offending the individuals shown - they have ruined their own lives beyond nowhere - we are only talking about the fact that the creation of such programs and their demonstration to a mass audience is nothing more than propaganda of vice.

Fortunately, most Russian citizens are well aware of the impact such stories have on society.

It is obvious that no matter what good aims the creation and broadcast of such programs would be, whether it be a fight for an audience or a demonstration of loyalty to "Western ideals", it is unacceptable to portray Russia as the country of the victorious Sodom and advertise homosexuals and other perverts. In this regard, the leadership of the TV channel, which undoubtedly today works mostly for the good of the country, would like to remind that in the traditions of Russian civilization to follow the principle “the end justifies the means”, and not “the end justifies the means”.

Considering that Russia Today is financed from the state budget and, in fact, represents Russia in the international arena, we urge the public to make every effort to convey to the management of the TV channel the inadmissibility of the appearance of such content. For its part, the projects Teach Good, Political Practice and NPK TV sent an appeal to the editor-in-chief M. Simonyan. We hope that the management of the TV channel will take into account the feedback to the published materials and will not allow themselves to display double standards in the information policy from now on.
