- Holidays and Slavic festivities.

Let's start with what you can see and taste

The exhibition “Cinema. Literature. Antique costume"

Each item at the exhibition, in one way or another, is associated with the history of Russian screen art and literature.

The Gorky Film Studio was founded in 1915 and was originally called "Rus". Hundreds of legendary films were filmed here, including Mother, Passage to Life, Quiet Don, The Dawns Here Are Quiet, Seventeen Moments of Spring and many others. Over the years, Yakov Protazanov, Lev Kuleshov, Marlen Khutsiev, Sergey Gerasimov, Stanislav Rostotsky and other masters have worked here. In the history of the film studio, a special place is occupied by film adaptations of literary works. This exhibition is an attempt, using the costumes that appeared in certain paintings, to tell about the work of production designers, whose task is to “dress” the hero so that his outfit “works” for drama. Costumes for the films "The Scarlet Flower", "Anna on the Neck", "Leo Tolstoy", "A Trip to Wiesbaden", "The Nutcracker" are on display at the Alexander Pushkin State Museum. Of particular interest is the chamberlain uniform in which Alexander Vertinsky was dressed in the painting "Anna on the Neck" by Isidor Annensky. The uniform was sewn at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries. The exposition is complemented by costumes for films that never saw the light of day (for example, "Pushkin"), as well as sketches of scenery and posters for such on-screen works as "Dowry", "Crime and Punishment", "Peter's Youth", "Foma Gordeev" …

Let's continue with the artifacts of the Slavic lands

An unusual find was handed over to the Regional Museum of Local Lore by a resident of Ulyanovsk. A bronze coin of the 7th-6th centuries BC was found at a construction site in the sand.

The minting of the early Iron Age is perfectly preserved, despite its considerable age. The reason for this is a layer of patina that completely covers the product. According to Marat Gismatullin, a researcher at the Ulyanovsk Museum of Local Lore, the minting will not be cleaned, research can be carried out without disturbing the natural protective coating.

Despite the fact that such coins have already been found in the Volga-Kama basin, the Ulyanovsk specimen is unique. Not only is it made with high artistic skill, but also the animals depicted on it have not yet been encountered by archaeologists on this kind of weapon. The socket of the embossing is decorated with a stylized image of the feline family, the butt is also decorated with six "cats". Between the striker and the bushing, an image of the head of a bird of prey resembling an eagle is noticeable. The combination of images of felines and birds of prey is reminiscent of griffins - mythological creatures with the body of a lion and the head of an eagle, therefore, in the description, the head of a bird of prey appears as the head of a griffin. The striking part of the butt is shaped like a snake's head. As Marat Gismatullin said: “This is not the first coinage found in the Volga region, but the first one decorated with images of cats. There is a similar coinage depicting bears. This find is a striking example of the Ananyino culture. As a rule, such weapons belonged to noble warriors”,.

Sharpudin Khautiev, director of the department for cultural heritage of the Ulyanovsk region, said that the find is very significant for the Ulyanovsk region: “ This is a great event from the point of view of history, in the Ulyanovsk Museum there is no such sample yet »

Mint is a cold weapon on a short shaft, an analogue of an ax. The main striking element of the stamping is made in the form of a beak, and the back side of the butt is equipped with a hammer. As historians write, the coin was used against armor. In Russia, the coinage served as a sign of superior dignity. Otherwise it was called "klevets".

Ancient jewelry discovered in Kuzbass … 2016 was a successful year for Kuzbass archaeologists in terms of new finds. Some of them can be seen in the Archeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia Museum. And although most of the excavations were carried out on the territory of neighboring regions - the Altai Territory and the Novosibirsk Region, nevertheless, the history of the ancient people is closely connected with the Kuznetsk Territory, on the territory of which they interacted with neighboring tribes.

As the keeper of the archaeological funds of the museum "Archeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia" of the KemSU Larisa Bobrova says: In the Novosibirsk region archaeologists managed to find a Neolithic settlement - that is, no later than three thousand years BC … And in the foothills of the Salair Ridge - at the very border of Altai and Kuzbass - there is a burial of the early Middle Ages, notable for the fact that a female outfit has been preserved there, which clarified the purpose of some objects found earlier in other places.

However, archaeologists managed to make unique finds on the territory of the Kemerovo region, in particular, on the territory of the village of Bolshoye Pichugino, Tisulsky district.

In general, 16 ancient burial mounds near this village became known more than a century ago. In the 50s of the last century, archaeological excavations were already carried out here, but then several of them remained intact. And only almost 60 years later - last summer - the archaeologist Pavel German decided to continue working at Bolshoi Pichugin, since these mounds belong to the Tagar culture, which he carefully studies. As a result, archaeologists discovered four graves in which five people were buried - a man, about 40 years old, a woman 17-25 years old, a teenager 12 years old and two children - one about six years old, and the second just a baby. And also among the finds: ceramic vessels, various bronze objects and bone jewelry and completely unique artifacts that have not been encountered before. In particular, a bronze awl with a figurine of a goat on the pommel, and a bone plaque in the form of a predator, the purpose of which has yet to be determined by specialists.

At present, all these items, which are more than two and a half thousand years old, have been deposited in the Kemerovo Regional Museum of Local Lore.
