How many characters of Slavic history have been slandered by the Western world and not every mathematician can count. There is practically no such real or fairytale hero., Which would not have passed the evil language of European "connoisseurs" of the Slavic cultural heritage.

We often perceive our historical roots from the words of people who wrote Russian history and judged about Slavic culture, who did not even know the Russian language. So the story that we are studying was written by the Germans Miller and Schlozer, who were repeatedly beaten by the Russian peasant Mikhailo Lomonosov, who declared that everything written by these academicians was nothing more than an utter lie.. For which the latter asked the Empress not much, not a little, but the death penalty for a great scientist.

Let's face it - before Mikhail Svet-Vasilyevich, Russian science simply did not exist. She had a solid mythology in all its spheres. Starting from natural science and ending with culture. Of course, there were real scientists among the visiting crooks. They left their mark on world science only thanks to their talent and the fact that they looked closely at the Russian original culture, listened and understood the language of the great people, and most importantly listened to our legends, fairy tales, proverbs.

No other people in the world can boast of so much wisdom left by our ancestors in their original folk art. And the Russian not only can, but also willingly shares his wisdom with other peoples. The Brothers Grimm did not hesitate to say that they wrote all the tales they "invented", having processed Slavic tales and gave the characters new names. After all, if you look closely at any European fairy tale, then you can confidently find a prototype in the Russian heritage, but ours is much richer than that presented in Europe. And the reason for this is very good. In order to create an image, the author needs to understand it, think like him and live his life. And the whole nation is the author !!! So can a German write the truth about the brownie, or say about Koschey the Immortal? Definitely not !!! To do this, you need to grow up in a Russian environment and from early childhood, after sledding, listen to the storyteller on a warm stove - an old grandfather who will surely lie from himself, but will never violate the instructive side of the story. Although the tale is a lie, there is a hint in it, a lesson to the good fellow !!! And there is nothing to say about the girls, for them a whole catechism is spelled out in the culture of the tale of Russia, to which the biblical legends of the Old Testament still need to grow.

Pay attention, reader, how the negative characters of Russian fairy tales are described. Koschey is simply a clear representative of the baronial western family. Pocky, bilious, skinny … Look at the EU Special Representative, Baroness Catherine Ashton. Obviously not Natasha Rostova or Anna Karenina. And what about the other inhabitants of this freak show? Look at the images and draw new fairy-tale characters in your imagination. There is nowhere for my gaze to stop at the crowd of people there. And do not doubt that new fairy tales are being written today. Fortunately, there are plenty of types.

The Russian people called the West Livonia, which, by the way, also sounds not very euphonious.

Much has been stolen from the life of the Russian people by foreigners, but there are characters that the local population will never understand. One of them is familiar to us from childhood, and although we fear him a little, but still, the Russian people have a rather kind attitude towards him, even a little ironic and cheerful.

It's about Baba Yaga.

No matter how the western man in the street tried to create such an image in himself, except for an evil fairy, nothing came of it. Do you know why? He just didn't understand who she was? Didn't feel her in my soul.

Meanwhile, the character is very interesting and we understand him subconsciously, because we have such an attitude towards her.

Baba Yaga is a more dangerous creature, possessing much more power than some kind of witch. Most often, she lives in a dense forest, which has long instilled fear in people, since it was perceived as a border between the world of the dead and the living. It is not for nothing that her hut is surrounded by a palisade of human bones and skulls, and in many fairy tales Baba Yaga feeds on human flesh, and she herself is called a “leg of bone”.

Just like Koschey the Immortal (bone - bone), she belongs to two worlds at once: the world of the living and the world of the dead. Hence its almost limitless possibilities.

In fairy tales, she acts in three incarnations. The Yaga-bogatyrsha possesses the sword-Infant and fights on equal terms with the bogatyrs. The kidnapper yaga steals children, sometimes throwing them, already dead, on the roof of their home, but most often taking them to their hut on chicken legs, or into an open field, or underground. From this outlandish hut, children, and adults as well, escape by outwitting Yagibishnu. And, finally, the Yaga-donor warmly greets the hero or heroine, treats deliciously, soars in the bathhouse, gives useful advice, presents a horse or rich gifts, for example, a magic ball leading to a wonderful goal, etc.

This old witch does not walk, but drives around the world in an iron mortar (that is, a scooter chariot), and when she walks, she forces the mortar to run faster, hitting it with an iron club or pestle. And so that, for reasons known to her, no traces could be seen, they swept after her special, attached to the mortar with a broom and a broom. She is served by frogs, black cats, including the Cat Bayun, crows and snakes: all creatures in which both threat and wisdom coexist..

Pay attention to the character, Bayun's cat. He is not present in all tales about Baba Yaga, but appears only in one of them about Vasilisa the Beautiful. And there he is her protector.

Bayun the cat is a character of Russian fairy tales, a huge man-eating cat with a magical voice. He speaks and lulls with his tales the travelers who have approached and those of them who do not have enough strength to resist his magic and who are not prepared for a fight with him, the cat-sorcerer ruthlessly kills. But those who can get a cat will find salvation from all diseases and ailments - Bayun's tales are curative. By itself, the word bayun means "talker, storyteller, rhetoric", from the verb bayat - "to tell, to speak" (compare also the verbs to lull, to lull in the meaning of "to put to sleep"). The fairy tales say that Bayun sits on a high, usually iron pillar. The cat lives in distant lands in the thirtieth kingdom or in a lifeless dead forest, where there are no birds or animals

So who are you, Grandma Yaga, living in such an environment?

Everything is much simpler than it seems at the beginning. And in Russia they say "if it seems, then be baptized."

Baba Yaga is the totem of the ancestors. Guardian of the clan, the eternal mother of the forest Slavs.

That is why she is endowed with such qualities, at first glance, contradictory.

The ancient Slavs, who lived in the forest, buried their dead in forest huts on chicken legs. Even now, you can see these in the taiga. They were built on high stumps, at the edges of forests, always with doors to the forest. If the traveler looked into the middle, he saw a dead man lying with his feet to the door, that is, he saw bone legs. Hence the expression to carry "feet first", which meant the deceased in the house.

Considering that the Slavs had a cult of the mother, and indeed matriarchy, women were buried in huts, and men were left in birch bark logs on the ground next to them.

And now remember what I wrote earlier about the Yaga's habitat and her feeding on human flesh. The totem eats its own kind and this state of affairs reminds us that sooner or later we will all be with our ancestors, that is, we are mortal.

The Yaga is a warrior who knows where she lies, or has the Kladenets sword, which means she is always ready to offer it to the hero or to defend her own kind herself.

She is also a teacher of small children, whom she tells to be obedient and not go far into the forest - otherwise death. And if the children come across her hut, then she does not really look after them and allows her, a wise old woman, to outwit.

As for her gifts and wise advice, it all says that she is a caring totem who cares about her kind. Yaga will definitely help someone who is honest in life and takes risks for the sake of a just cause. There will be a tangle for you that will show the way, and samogud gusli, and the Kladenets sword and even pies for the journey. The main thing is to ask her kindly and talk heart to heart.

Is this not how we refer to the Virgin Mary in later Christianity?

This is what a newcomer German cannot understand, for whom, the more terrible the tale the better.

The Russian fairy tale has existed for centuries and does not change its good content. Because, Baba Yaga is not possible to "opokemon", but the evil forest fairy as much as necessary. The European thief who stole the Russian fairy tale did not manage to understand what a huge treasure and legacy he got! He laughs at the Russian fool, completely not realizing that our Fool is an ancient Slavic name, the fourth of the brothers after Pervak, Deuteronomy and Tretyak, the smallest and most foolish, to whom there will be no inheritance, because tradition gives everything to the first three. This means that he can only rely on his own strength, and from that he turns out to be the smartest in the end, (and even with a beautiful wife, who from Vasilisa the Wise will become Vasilisa the Fool, not sparing little about it) because he, except for himself there is no one to hope for. Is it a kind of totem - the Slavic Babushka Yaga.

So the tale about this old woman is over. Although I forgot the main thing !!! Where does Baba Yaga live? Should she have an exact address in our age of communications and technological progress?

Of course, she also has a place of permanent residence, over which, on regular raids to protect our Slavic people, she flies out on her stupa, driving a broomstick. And woe to the one who offends her people.

Kukoboy is a village in the Yaroslavl region, on the border with the Vologda region, for reference - near the town of Poshekhonye.

In 2004, Kukoboy was declared "the birthplace of Baba Yaga" - her "birthday" is celebrated here on July 26th. A museum of Baba Yaga ("a hut on chicken legs") was also created.

On New Year's holidays, children's letters flock not only to Veliky Ustyug to Santa Claus, but also to the village of Kukoboy, barely noticeable even on the map of the region. No, it was not the younger brother of the bearded wizard who was registered here, but … Baba Yaga. full of mercantile wishes, children write to a fairy-tale grandmother just like that, from the heart.

"Hello, dear Baba Yaga. I have read a lot and heard fairy tales about you. I respect you, although I am a little afraid. You may not bring gifts like Santa Claus, but I just want to be friends with you." girls in the village of Kukoboy, Yaroslavl region. Babe Yage).

Listen, dear reader, what the children are saying. They know much more than we, their adult tribesmen, and understand the language of the Russian fairy tale better than we do.

Baba Yaga

I remember many books from my childhood.

They were friendly to me.

For girls and boys

Fairy tales that there are lights in the dark.

How many kind amazements

And mysterious beginnings

How many scary adventures

In Russian fairy tales, have I read?

The stove drives like a car

Shakes on potholes,.

A fellow sits on the stove, Eats compote with a spoon.

Serpent Gorynych over the mountains

Makes its flight

And in the swamp between the hills

The frog king is waiting for happiness

Good fellow fought

And Koshchei defeated

And Ivan drank water -

I almost died like a goat !!!

How funny and interesting

And a happy ending in them

Well, sonny, tell me honestly

Got the meaning? - asked the father

Every fairy tale has a problem

And she is dear to us

Here is your Cossack sister

Whatever is - Baba Yaga !!!

I'm on a red-haired sister

Looked amazed

Two braids sits on the sidelines, Obviously, a fairy tale is not a lot !!!

Where is the stupa? No hut

And the pomelo was gone.

Let's face it to the old lady

No harm was reported !!!

Well, she will still be an old woman!

She's not a decree for years!

Time is strange with us! -

My father began the story.

Yaga shirts are closer to us.

From Slavic ancient themes

She is hardly anyone lower.

The grandmother of the Slavs is a totem !!!

She is the guardian of the clan, Fount of knowledge and mind

And for the Russian people

Necessarily needed.

The spirit of our great ancestors, Grandmother of the forest Slavs, She is not more beautiful in the world, Than in the legends of the Drevlyans.

And I'll tell you a secret

An ancient rumor speaks

When Rod sculpted the planet, She was a girl!

Remember, son, that old age is needed

Respect with a kind heart

We live together with grandfather, grandmother

Help the old people.

Well, if the dark forest

You caught Yaga on the way

A wonderful moment came to you!

You ask your fate.

Help the old lady with firewood

To convey to the hut

Pies and buns for you

Will take the grandmother out of the oven.

And he will tell the road right

Will give a light in life.

He will tell a good fairy tale …

Bow down to her, son.

Old age, in general, is not beautiful

And rock is ruthless to us

Be happy grandma

And thanks for the lesson !!!
