Nikolay Emelin is a performer of unusual songs. In every word he utters from the stage, the power of an entire army is felt, they instill in the listeners strength and self-confidence.

Nikolay is the headliner of the Slast honey festival. Today he agreed to answer the questions of the “Areas of Culture.

- Nikolay, when did you start singing?

- In the past millennium. In 6-7 grade. It was possible to write poetry, but there was a desire to arrange them musically, and I had to learn to play the guitar and I realized that these were not poetry, but songs or ballads. And the songs must be sung, and I sang them with a guitar on a bench in the yard, on the roof of a house, on the river bank, etc.

- Your songs represent an extraordinary synthesis of folk and modern music. How would you define their style? Is it folk, rock, or something else? Why the choice of this particular direction of creativity?

- I don’t know how to define styles, there’s just a stream, and I pass it. And I did not choose any direction, it just came to me by itself and continues to this day. Oh, how exciting it is! Many songs were written at a young age, I sometimes listen to them and am surprised that the lyrics are grown up there. And I begin to understand that this flow went through that boy. So I didn't choose any directions.

- In one of the songs you sing "my homeland is Siberia", but in fact, where are you from? What is your most vivid childhood memory?

- Why "My homeland Siberia"? Because my Motherland is the West Siberian Territory. And from childhood there are so many vivid memories that there will not be enough pages in the newspaper - it is necessary to write a book. It seems to me that each person has enough material for a whole book about his childhood and vivid memories. It's just that in the daily hustle and bustle, an adult forgets his magical childhood. There was everything: adventure and romance and a belt on the ass. If it is shorter, the rivers were wider and the colors were lighter.

- What would you like to change in the world around you? What would you like to wish the readers of the "Region of Culture"?

- So that a rukiy person would feel like a master on his land and that he would throw off a state of some kind of guilt imposed on him by someone. And that would have remembered their ancestors. In order not to imitate foreign monkeys, because our land has given birth to so many real heroes from whom you can take an example, honor and remember these real Our heroes, And not overseas monkeys posing as heroes. Vile Hollywood is fooling the whole world, including us. And we must fight for our native culture! If we do not preserve our traditions, then very quickly our people will dissolve and disappear from the face of the earth. This is my wish for you.
