Video: Teacher about the exam and education

The program "Clever and Clever" on our TV should be banned. People watch this program and think that our children are ah! How many people know that our children have a wide outlook. And I, you see, am a teacher. I communicate with children (of all ages) on duty and wonder - where did they recruit so many children with such knowledge and such erudition in the program?
Am I living in some kind of parallel reality?
The fall in the level of education and the catastrophic lack of outlook in our children is not connected with the exam, as they like to say now. Everything is simple with us - the main thing is to find someone to blame. Found - Unified State Exam. And the exam is just an exam, a test of knowledge. But getting this knowledge … This is where the problems begin. There are several of these problems.
The first is show off and money (where can we go without them). It is not fashionable now to be just a school. It's much cooler to be a lyceum or a gymnasium. Well, judge for yourself - there are two mothers. And one of the other says: "My daughter is studying at the Lyceum, she has English from the first grade!" And the second mother, whose daughter is in a regular school, immediately feels an inferiority complex … And then - more money from the budget is allocated to the gymnasium and lyceum. But to call it a lyceum or a gymnasium is not enough. You have to really prove that your school is worthy of this title! But as? Only by forcing learning. What children learn in an ordinary school in the third grade is taught in the lyceum already in the first grade. But how cool it is to say at any meetings: "In our lyceum, already in the first grade, children go through their times in English!" What are the times? Children at this age have not yet matured to this, they still do not really know the letters! They still do not understand in Russian what the present and the past are. By the way, this is another problem. It is necessary to synchronize the subjects at school somehow. So that at first the times in the Russian language lesson will pass, and then in English. All the same, Russian is a native language for children, it would be easier for them to understand this complex topic in Russian.
The second reason for the fall in the level of education is teachers. Believe it or not, it’s very bad with work now! Getting a job is hard. If a good vacancy opens up somewhere, then they try to attach their person to it. And it doesn't matter that this person is often unfit for the job. Never mind! But this is the daughter (or son) of the director, the head teacher or from the administration called and asked to hire the mayor's grand-niece. And such a person will work. It will work in any weather! If it is necessary to reduce, then a good teacher with extensive work experience will be fired, but the mayor's granddaughter will be left behind! And the granddaughter of the mayor will not work. What for? She got a job not to work, but to get money. Unfortunately, there are many such teachers now …
The third reason for the lack of horizons in children is that they stopped reading books. I (I am very ashamed) only recently discovered that 40 percent of knowledge people get from books! And I was still surprised at the time when I read Jane Austen's books - there all of her heroines attached great importance to reading. One of them - Emma - even made lists of books to read, meeting with the girl's friends to read books! And I also thought - why? Why is this so important? But recently I realized….
Our children don't know anything now. Even the simplest words. Let me give you an example. Oleg, grade 5. "Oleg, do you know what a jackal is?" “Oh, I know! The jackal is such a big monkey! " And he did not watch the cartoon about Mowgli. I haven't read the book either. Farther. Masha, grade 5. “Is it Hitler with a mustache? I confuse Hitler and Lenin.. "More. Artem, 4th grade. “The word“car”, Artem, comes from the word“carriage”. Do you know what a carriage is? " "No, I do not know." "Have you watched the cartoon about Cinderella?" I no longer ask if I have read the book ….. It is clear that I have not read it. "No, I haven't watched the cartoon."Andrey, grade 8. "Andrew, the Queen of England is already a very middle-aged woman." "Why do these Englishmen choose such grandmothers as queens?"
Children, at least my students, watch little TV. No books are read at all. They do not sit in the computer, their parents do not allow them. What are they doing? Believe it or not - they are doing their homework! The curriculum at school now in almost all subjects is such that children themselves, without the help of their parents, are not able to do their homework in any subject. In addition, many teachers do not consider it necessary to explain the topic, let the parents or tutors at home explain. If the parents cannot explain, they hire a tutor. Already in grades 3-6, some children have two tutors. Children also go in for sports, go swimming, football or hockey. Here - children simply do not have time for books, TV or a computer!
Children are learning. Parents try very hard to give their children a good education. With a complete lack of horizons …

How the brain and education dry up from digitalization and virtual reality
Today, many are discussing distance education and universal digitalization. Concerns have been raised about who will end up with the collected data, how it might be used, and so on. I totally agree with most of the concerns and strongly oppose distance education. However, I must say that the very type of discussion underway does not cover the problem in full and deprives us of the opportunity to fully adequately respond to this dangerous challenge

Unhappy children of the USSR: free circles and labor education. Capitalism and people creators are incompatible
It seems that today there is no problem with children's circles and sections. Just pay money, as they say. Any parent can give their child to robotics, almost from the cradle, even to swimming, and, of course, to English, how can a 5-year-old citizen of Russia live without him? But let's see how things were with this relatively recently, several decades ago
Instead of education and knowledge, ignorance and helplessness spreads
There is a huge mythology associated with education and introduction to knowledge. They broaden the horizons, make it possible to develop their own opinions, form a full-fledged person, add him to all the richness of culture. But the widely ramified systems of mass education of the twentieth century put on the conveyor the release, according to the term put into use by Solzhenitsyn, "education", specialists who do not know anything but their business
