When you live far from cell towers, even a simple call can be a real problem. What can we say about the reception of the Internet via 3G and 4G channels. However, this problem can actually be solved relatively easily and quite gracefully. To do this, you will need to work with your hands and build a small antenna. Fortunately, all materials for her are very accessible.
Materials and tools
Some materials will be needed.
To create a 3G / 4G antenna, you will need an M6 or M8 solid-threaded stud 140 mm long, thin tin made of any metal, nuts for a stud in the amount of 12 pieces, a coaxial cable up to 12 meters long - 2 pieces. You will also need an F-connector for a TV cable - 4 pieces and a Pigtail connector with an adapter - 2 pieces.
Materiel
Let's clarify right away that the assembly parameters for 3G and 4G antennas are different. It's all about the frequency range that the operator uses. To do this, take your phone and search for network operators. Among the numerous 2G signals, we should look for the one we need. Knowing which operator provides the appropriate coverage, we purchase a suitable SIM card. Below are the diagrams of antenna guns for different signals with characteristics.
Antenna assembly
There is nothing complicated.
When assembling the antenna, it is necessary to maintain accuracy, down to the last millimeter. At the same time, there is nothing fundamentally complicated in it. First, you should cut 6 discs from the tin, as in the pictures. Copper sheet is the ideal material for this. You can even cut it with clerical scissors. The diameter of the discs should be 100, 74, 54, 39, 39, and 39 mm (for a 3G 2100 MHz antenna). However, before cutting the discs, it is best to make the center holes well in advance.
Such an antenna will help.
On a 74 mm disc, we immediately prepare a hole for soldering the wire core at a distance of 11 mm from the edge. Both coaxial wires for the TV will also be attached here. The second hole is also made with an offset of 11 mm and at an angle of 90 degrees from the first hole. From a pair of ordinary television F connectors, you need to break off the protruding part and press it onto a 100 mm disc, as shown in the video below. Telecables are attached to the largest drive. After installation, the wires are soldered. We attach a handle to the antenna and all that remains is to attach the Pigtail connectors to our wire.
It's simple.
Let's take a look at the assembly process in the video.
