An interesting hypothesis based on the analysis of Scandinavian myths is given by the Russian researcher of the history of our country N. Pavlischeva. Well, about the whole of Europe - this is, of course, an exaggeration, even taking into account the places of settlement of the Etruscans, Veneds, the Wends, and other Slavic tribes of Western Europe, related to the Russians. But, about the European North - there really are interesting facts from the mythology of these peoples.

So, Irish mythology mentions some "tribes of the goddess Danu", which in time immemorial sailed on their ships to the Irish coast. These tribes of fair-haired and light-eyed people possessed amazing magical knowledge, and were also excellent warriors and musicians, possessed amazing clothes, weapons and musical instruments. It is no coincidence that some sources rank them as Celtic "gods". On the other hand, in the pre-Christian Orian Vedic tradition, there are legends about several clans who left the islands of the Russian North to the west in search of new lands.

To answer this question, the author of this book and his friends organized a special search expedition across the waters of the three northern seas: White, Barents, Kara. Of course, the plans of the expedition were more extensive than the search for ancient northern cities. We learned from the local population that there was once a city on Kolguev Island, which was inhabited by the Russian people. A Nenets shaman from Baigach Island told us that his family once lived on the southern island of Novaya Zemlya, and that next to the Nenets settlement there were the ruins of one of the ancient cities. According to legend, white people once lived in it, exactly the same as the Russians. When we asked the shaman if there were many similar cities on the island, he said that, according to the stories of the old people, there were three.

Ancient Nenets legends tell that even before the arrival of the Nenets ancestors to the north, there was a kingdom of white people on Novaya Zemlya. These people built large houses, raised deer, fished, hunted whales, walruses and seals, and also sowed some plants on the southern slopes of the mountains, which they used instead of bread. In addition, according to the stories of the old Nenets, the islanders knew how to build large, roomy ships, on which they sailed far to the west and east, to Taimyr.

Coincidence or not, but the memories of the Russian cities on Kolguev and Novaya Zemlya in our north are still alive. According to the stories of the Nenets and Pomors, Russian settlements on Kolguev, Vaigach and Novaya Zemlya disappeared at the behest of False Dmitry I and Vasily Shuisky. It happened during the Great Troubles, which was organized by the West after the elimination of the Rurik dynasty in Muscovy. There is also information that not only the Vatican, with the hands of its protégé, tried to destroy the Russian northern principality. Novgorodians also made two military campaigns in the 15th century. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. One thing is clear that there were Russian settlements on Kolguev, Novaya Zemlya and Vaygach, and they disappeared relatively recently.

But let's go further in the footsteps of the tribes of the goddess Danu. It turns out that their cities and trading posts were not only in the Russian north. In the second half of the III millennium BC. e. part of the tribe of the goddess Danu decided to move west, to Britain and Ireland. Most likely, they were forced to do this by the onset of a cold snap. Both of these islands had been known to them for a long time, and one day the ships of the Danavs rushed to their shores. Here is what the ancient Irish epic says about the migration of the tribe of the goddess Danu to Ireland:

"The Tribes of the Goddess sailed on many ships in order to take Ireland by force from Fir Bolg.
