In November 1985, in Geneva, in talks with the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Mikhail Gorbachev, US President Ronald Reagan raised the issue of creating a united front "in the event of an alien invasion from space." Raised in the best traditions of the CPSU, Gorbachev was not ready for such a turn of the conversation.

He knew that Reagan was characterized by carelessness in his choice of expressions. Perhaps this was an attempt to clarify the state of work in the USSR on this problem, to which the United States gave priority attention. The possibility was not ruled out that the leak of information of this kind was deliberate and pursued the goal of preparing public opinion in the United States, the USSR and in the world for the emergence of a new - planetary factor in international life, as well as to probe the public's reaction.

The first discussion of the "UFO problem" at the Soviet-American summit was an unprecedented fact not only in relations between the two great powers, but in the history of all mankind. Gorbachev decided to carefully consider this issue. Returning to Moscow after negotiations, he ordered to prepare for him a report on the state of research on the "UFO problem" in the USSR. After a while they brought him a folder.

The collected material was striking in its completeness and thoroughness. It outlined the history of UFO research in the USSR and the United States and contained detailed information about the classification of this problem. “Since November 1953, the CIA, together with the Air Force, drew up a special document“General educational program for the population”, which was supposed to disorient both the population of the United States and other countries, including scientific organizations. Currently, the opposite trend is visible - the process of declassification of information on UFOs in Europe and the United States. Earth and terrestrial civilization are under the control of several extraterrestrial races, among them, in particular, humanoids, reptoids, insectoids and transcendentals. Contacts between aliens and humans follow a clear program. UFOs are often observed in areas where important military-strategic, energy, and industrial facilities are located. Sometimes there are clashes between UFOs and planes, ships, anti-aircraft batteries. Such contacts almost always end not in favor of earthlings. If they think that we are dangerous to them, nothing will save us from destruction. The instantaneous appearances and disappearances of UFOs are a purposeful demonstration of their technical capabilities,”Gorbachev read.

Not content with reading reports and viewing photographs, Gorbachev ordered documentary films and video recordings to be prepared for him. He was shown several films, and among them - a video, which was captured by a humanoid alien standing in front of the camera against the background of an object hovering above the ground. After the "posing session" the alien entered the apparatus, which rose smoothly upward. Gorbachev realized that after viewing such records, the hair of an unprepared population would stand on end and every one of them would fall out with the last doubts. He ordered to organize a trip for him to one of the military bases in order to personally verify the reliability of the information received. Such a trip required preparation.

In February 1986, Gorbachev made a Political Report of the Central Committee of the CPSU to the 27th Party Congress, in which he said: “At a meeting in Geneva, the President of the United States expressed the idea that if the Earth would be threatened by alien invasions,The United States and the Soviet Union will team up to repel this attack."

On February 17, 1987, at a meeting of the Presidents of the USSR and the United States, Reagan again said: “Imagine that the Earth is threatened with invasion by hostile aliens. How easy it would be for us then to find a solution to the differences existing between our countries.” In September, Reagan echoed these thoughts at the United Nations session and in May 1988 in Chicago.

In February 1987, Gorbachev returned to the "UFO problem" in a speech at the forum "For a nuclear-free world, for the humanism of international relations." In September of the same year, he paid an official visit to the naval base in Severomorsk, and then visited some secret area, where earlier the Soviet military had taken out a UFO of "unknown origin and destination." Nothing intelligible was reported about the purpose of the president's official trip, but the mention of it in the press pursued certain goals.

In the end, Gorbachev never went to meet the United States in creating a united front to fight aliens. The head of the KGB, Kryuchkov, assured him that the USSR was able to cope with this problem on its own, and that the special services had already accumulated experience in confronting humanoids. Who in the KGB was involved in the fight against aliens?

On April 26, 1990, the first and last president of the USSR, M. Gorbachev, at a meeting with the staff of the Uralmash plant, said that the UFO phenomenon exists, and that it should be treated without excitement and studied. This is what many academic institutes are doing now, and they have dealt with this topic before, only under the "aura of secrecy." For example, the existence of a special Air Force laboratory in a small town on the Volga of Akhtubinsk could only be learned from the foreign press. From the conversation "with the working people", which lasted, according to some information, about an hour, only one phrase got into the press:

"As far as I know, there are teams that research them."

Who is the head of the UFO and anomalous phenomena research department?

Ufologist Vladimir Georgievich Azhazha was in charge of a special "alien department" in the KGB. He was at one time a captain of the second rank in the Northern Fleet. On October 11, 1976 Azhazha made a report in the underwater research section of the Oceanographic Commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Under the title "Collecting and analyzing information about hydrospheric UFOs," it was included in the work schedule of the SPO OK of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In November 1976 Azhazha wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR A. N. Kosygin on the UFO problem.

At the same time, Azhazha visited the science department of the Central Committee of the CPSU, as well as personally the Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR, where he reported in detail about UFOs. In December of the same year, he became the scientific supervisor of the research work (R&D) "The hydrospheric aspect of the UFO problem", supervised by the Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Navy (branch of the GRU). This work was later concentrated in military unit 62728 in St. Petersburg.

On July 15, 1977 Azhazha presented to the customer the first stage of R&D "Methodological instructions for organizing observations of the nuclear field in the Navy" (out. N 13037/6-SPI). On October 7, 1977, these instructions were introduced by order of the deputy. Chief of the Main Staff of the Navy, Admiral P. Navoitsev.

Later, the same instructions were developed and adopted for the Soviet Army, where information flowed to military unit 67947 (Mytishchi), signed by engineer-colonel R. Pokrovsky.

It was then that Azhazha, within the framework of the closed commission on UFOs, collaborated with its members, cosmonauts - Colonel E. V. Khrunov and Colonel V. G. Lazarev, Vice-Admiral M. Krilov, astronomers L. Gindilis and N. Shnee, using GRU-shny military ties.

Now let's take a closer look at Azhazha's activities, when he became the "chief ufologist" in the Soviet Union, and then the "number one ufologist" in the CIS, then heading the Union Center and the International UFO Association (AMU) as First Vice-President of the Colonel-General P. R. Popovich (who became president).

And suddenly in 1991-92. Azhazhi's position changes dramatically: from an ardent adherent of the extraterrestrial UFO hypothesis, he becomes an ardent denier, confidently asserting: "UFOs are not aliens, but the materialization of the Absolute!" Moreover, in 1991 he became the first deputy head of the American Institute for the Study of Physics, Jacques Vallee. Vallee, in turn, is known for the fact that he was a consultant to the CIA and personally to Professor A. Heinek, previously a staff member of the CIA.

Azhazha, who previously bombarded the audience with information about UFO disasters and alien corpses, showing photos of captured UFOs and humanoids in hangars (to the same Gorbachev), suddenly publicly and unconvincingly debunks these "myths".

In 1992 Azhazha visited the Roswell Museum, and in the same year (in the USA) he met with American ufologists, including Philip Klass (Klass has been a CIA agent since 1973, his task is to debunk UFO sightings using a plasma theory”, fireballs and aircraft) and Dr. Richard Haynes, a former NASA employee who also works closely with the CIA.

In the same 1992, Azhazha began to cooperate with the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The main task of Azhazha in Russia is the collapse of ufological circles and the closure of thematic publications. So, in 1993, one of the most advanced Nalchinsk group of ufologists was closed. Then the magazines "Anomaly", "World of UFOs", UFOS were closed.

As Paul Stonehill wrote in 1995 in his article "The Russian Military and UFOs" ("The Fourth Dimension and UFOs", No. 6, 1995), along with the continuation of the UFO cover-up, "public ufology in Russia is again organized and led by functionaries from government organizations, which at one time, mixing it with bioenergetics, practically disorganized (ruining more than 80% of all social groups)”.

However, in the early 2000s, Azhazha again develops a vigorous activity, already as an adviser to the Minister of Emergency Situations Shoigu. In particular, in a series of memoranda to various ministries, he claims that most of the missing Russians are actually abducted by aliens. Azhazha claims that annually humanoids steal about 10-12 thousand of our fellow citizens. Speaking at a meeting of the Ecology Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Azhazha warned: “The typical algorithm of abductions from home is as follows. At about 3-4 o'clock in the morning, all family members are transferred by the kidnappers into a deep sleep phase. And the intended victim begins to feel numbness of the limbs and, as a result, powerlessness. She is taken out of bed, carried through a wall or closed window without damaging it, and taken to the laboratory aboard the UFO (or elsewhere)."

And already this year he began to rush with the idea that the worst thing, according to his forecasts, “should begin in the coming years. Aliens will introduce hybrids into human society to fulfill some unknown mission. Interestingly, Azhazha has recently begun to frequently visit his deputy. Head of the Presidential Administration Sechin.

Military intelligence and UFOs

It is well known that until 1989 there was no question of a serious conversation on the topic of UFOs in the Soviet media. During this period, the press has been very successful in "drumming" into the layman that UFOs are ordinary natural phenomena mixed with unhealthy hallucinations or inventions of science and pseudoscientific fiction, and besides, funny anecdotes and big cartoons in Crocodile. Editors who published serious materials risked becoming a popular laughing stock and, what is more, falling into a madhouse. But, one way or another, censorship was canceled in 1989 and a waterfall of information accumulated over many decades fell on the people who were taken aback. Moreover, mixed with real facts and serious research, the most outright lies, misinformation, inventions and a desire to earn extra money on royalties fell down (fortunately, they were then paid more or less regularly). The audience, at first greeted with great enthusiasm new interesting information (the famous "Question mark" then reached several million copies in circulation), because of this very lie quickly got confused and all the enthusiasm soon descended to its former values. To this day, there have been no significant positive shifts in society. Moreover, according to the testimony of some ufologists, the situation is returning to the old: the authorities are again actively engaged in ufological censorship (in parallel with the "democratic" processes). So, the coordinator of the Ukrainian UFO Association (UKUFAS) Anton Anfalov in his article "The truth about UFOs is hidden not only by the military, but also by ufologists!" claims that prominent Russian ufologist Vladimir Georgievich Azhazha is an agent of the GRU. This article as a whole is very interesting and informative, therefore it will be very useful to cite an excerpt from it here. Moreover, the data given by Anfalov are quite detailed.

Let us recall how and with what Azhazha began his ufological career as a captain of the second rank in the Northern Fleet at that time. Few people know that he received wide support from the military and the authorities during that period.

On October 11, 1976, he made a report in the underwater research section of the Oceanographic Commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Under the title "Collecting and analyzing information about hydrospheric UFOs," it was included in the work schedule of the SPO OK of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In November 1976 Azhazha wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR AN Kosygin on the UFO problem.

At the same time, Azhazha visited the science department of the Central Committee of the CPSU, as well as personally the Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR, where he reported in detail about UFOs. But about what he managed to find out in high offices, Azhazha is silent to this day.

In December of the same year, he became the scientific supervisor of the research work (R&D) “Hydrospheric aspect of the UFO problem”, supervised by … the Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Navy (a branch of the well-known GRU or “Aquarium”, ie the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff). This work was later concentrated in military unit 62728 in St. Petersburg.

On July 15, 1977 Azhazha presented to the customer the first stage of research work "Methodological instructions for organizing observations of the nuclear force in the Navy" (out. N 13037/6-SPI). On October 7, 1977, these instructions were introduced by the order of the deputy. Chief of the Main Staff of the Navy, Admiral P. Navoitsev. Later, the same instructions were developed and adopted for the Soviet Army, where information flowed to military unit 67947 (Mytishchi), signed by engineer-colonel R. Pokrovsky.

Thus, from the very beginning, Azhazhi's ufology was in the interests of … military intelligence. And as you know, intelligence officers in organizations such as the GRU, where "the entrance is a ruble, the exit is two," once they become forever.

During our last meeting in Simferopol, Azhazha frankly told me: “Not a word on faith to anyone, not even me …”

Yes, Azhazha also had complications with the authorities, but they were only connected with the ban of the Central Committee of the CPSU from speaking on UFO topics in 1980 and fears of Azhazha's disclosure of secret UFO information, although he certainly did not have full access to it … Meanwhile, Azhazha's hidden ufological activity continued all this time. It was then that Azhazha, within the framework of the closed commission on UFOs, collaborated with its members, cosmonauts - Colonel E. V. Khrunov and Colonel V. G. Lazarev, Vice-Admiral M. Krilov, astronomers L. Gindilis and N. Shnee, using the old GRU military connections. Azhazha has not yet spread about this.

Let us now objectively look at Azhazha's activities, when he became the "chief ufologist" in the Soviet Union, and then the "number one ufologist" in the CIS, then heading the Soyuzufocenter (collapsed or deliberately collapsed?) And the International UFO Association (MUA) as the First Vice-President Colonel-General P. R. Popovich (who became President). Something often near Azhazha we meet colonels, admirals and generals!

Along with Azhazhi's significant contribution to the development of ufology in the period 1989-1990, his position suddenly changes dramatically: from an ardent adherent of the extraterrestrial UFO hypothesis, he becomes an ardent denier, confidently asserting: "UFOs are not aliens!" Turning the problem of UFOs in the eyes of the public into something ephemeral and multifaceted under a vague definition: "local materialization of the essence of the Absolute through parallel worlds", while uncritically borrowing no less vague ideas of foreign colleagues, in particular, Jacques Vallee. The same Vallee, who at one time worked closely with the CIA consultant, Professor A. Heinek.

It is surprising that Azhazha, who previously bombarded listeners with information about UFO catatrophs and alien corpses, showing photos of captured UFOs and humanoids in hangars, suddenly publicly and rather unconvincingly, contrary to the facts, debunks the UFO disaster in Roswell, the reality of which does not cause doubts among all serious researchers. In 1992 Azhazha visited the Roswell Museum, and in the same year (in the USA) he met with American ufologists, including Phil Klass (as is clear from the available documents, Phil Klass has been a CIA agent since 1973, his task - debunking UFO sightings with the help of "plasma theory", fireballs and aircraft) and Dr. Richard Haynes, a former NASA employee who works closely with government agencies. Interesting coincidences, isn't that so? In the same 1992, Azhazha began to cooperate with the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Why and how is the government hiding the truth about the aliens?

Then the extraterrestrial hypothesis begins to be interpreted by Azhazha as oversimplification, “ufo-primitivism”, which leaves a significant imprint on the entire approach to the study of the UFO problem and on the attitude to dissidents. So, Azhazha's opinion has changed, but for some reason it began to correspond to the official one !?

For some reason Azhazha stubbornly ignores everything that does not go into the narrow blinkers of his position, all the facts and evidence in favor of UFO catastrophes, hiding vehicles and corpses of aliens, proving the ridiculous government version of the Roswell balloon. And about what is hiding from the people in the hangars of zone 51, military unit 73790 in Zhitkur (at the Kapustin Yar training ground) and in Odintsovo (Pomoskovye), Azhazha keeps complete silence. As well as the fact that UFO catastrophes took place in our country, reliable cases of 1959 in Poland, 1974 near Donetsk, 1978 in Kazakhstan, 1979 in the Urals, 1984 on the Kola Peninsula, 1987 near Vyborg and Monchegorsk, 1989 in the Perm region, many other cases of the capture of irrefutable material evidence of extraterrestrial civilizations. As well as about the corpses of the newcomers, investigated in Moscow and near Semipalatinsk. As the leading ufologist of the country, Azhazha with his connections could not help but know about this, and at least partially some facts he probably knew. But, apparently, he deliberately hid them.

Another interesting coincidence.

At the end of 1991, on the pages of the press under the auspices of the UFO-center Azhazhi, discredited information about the alleged UFO crash in the North Caucasus in 1983, according to the group of F. I. Konovalov and V. P. Kostrykin from Nalchik. How did the EOs return to the history of eight years ago on the basis of the old Polish props? Here's why. As a high-ranking Ukrainian military man, head of the Main Hydrometeorological Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Colonel Y. Lunev admitted in 1995, it was in 1991 that a UFO was shot down by a fighter near the town of Prokhladny, inside which the corpses of two creatures were found, and the third was alive … All materials and apparatus were taken out on the external sling of a Mi-26 helicopter in military unit 73790 to Zhitkur. The role of cover for this operation was played by Azhazi's company to refute UFO catastrophes. After that, the Nalchinsk group of ufologists was completely closed, and Konovalov himself, after his publications about the concealment of UFOs in Russia … disappeared in 1997. Perhaps he came too close to the dangerous truth about the UFO crash in Kabardino-Balkaria?

When I turned to one of Azhazhi's closest colleagues, the former head of the North Caucasus Scientific Coordination UFO Center of the MUA V. P. Utenkov, with a request to investigate the UFO crash near Prokhladny, including the need for an official request on behalf of the MUA to the authorities in this regard, then I received a rather rude answer from 10/14/97, ref. N 112/343, which said: “I will not send any official requests … Break through the wall of silence with your head, but I feel sorry for mine. I don’t want my shoulder straps to fall off my shoulders ahead of time”(Utenkov is … a career officer of the Russian army!) He also told me that he was“not a coward”, but in the late eighties in Rostov they simply defeated the UFO group, which loudly announced the disaster As a result of the collision with a UFO near Rostov, people in civilian clothes walked around the event and collected nondisclosure subscriptions, and in places where Rostov ufologists gather today, there are often dark personalities … “engaged in ufology, not only on their own initiative”. Utenkov called my position … “ufo-primitivism” and added that Azhazha would not send any requests either, since his position is known: “UFOs are not aliens. There can be no UFO disasters, because there can never be. " And he will not support anyone in such actions. I sent an article about the incident near Prokhladny to the newspaper "Crossroads of the Centaur", but it has not yet been published. On the other hand, Azhazha's extensive monologues on general topics of “official ufology” are published there …

The leading ufological publications in Russia (Anomaly in St. Petersburg, Crossroads of the Centaur in Rostov, The World of the Unknown in Moscow) are under the control of Azhazha's protégés and do not publish facts about the UFO cover-up in Russia, which Azhazha assists. And Azazhe's "opposition" publications, such as the Anomaly magazine in Moscow or UFO World, are covered up. As Paul Stonehill rightly pointed out in his article "The Russian Military and UFOs" ("The Fourth Dimension and UFOs", No. 6, 1995), along with the continuation of the UFO cover-up, "public ufology is re-organized and led by government officials organizations that at one time, having mixed it with bioenergy, practically disorganized (collapsing more than 80% of all social groups) … At this stage, it is obvious that the UFO movement in Russia is again trying to “cover”. today managed to be done within the department "Ufology and Bioenergoinformatics" taking into account the current socio-economic situation, when the Association of CIS Ufologists is rather formal in nature. Real ufologists in Russia can soon be counted on one hand, the sporadic activities of the very few remaining UFO groups are scattered.

Azhazha himself, in a public response to Anfalov, indignantly rejected the accusations against him of cooperation with the special services and control over social groups. I do not presume to judge who is right and who is not in this dispute. The only thing that is obvious is that such disputes do not add public respect to ufology. And the fact that some ufologists can "make friends" with the special services and compromise ufology should be treated with understanding, without violent emotions and swearing at each other. People are weak creatures and it is difficult for them to fight the System. None of the ufoogs is insured that tomorrow they will not go over to the other side. For "recruiting" you may need just a company of young strong guys with a mount, a dark alley and a couple of minutes of "conversation" … Of course, this does not mean that it is pointless to engage in ufology. Special services can classify and interfere as much as they like, but despite all their efforts, the progress of ufological knowledge is progressing, albeit slowly, but surely. The ultimate goal is to completely declassify the government's UFO information.

Ufology- this is not just a science that studies UFOs - it is a potential opportunity for all of Mankind and each individual person to take a big step forward, open the secret pages of the universe, get to know oneself, one's microcosm, find a new meaning of life, devoid of today's prejudices. The end goal is too important to give up so easily.
