The wreck of the Titanic: seditious versions

More than a century has passed since the sinking of the most famous ship in the world, but there is still debate about why the Titanic suffered such a sad fate. Not everyone is satisfied with the official version of an accidental collision with an iceberg. The Kramola portal offers you alternative options.

A planned operation by American bankers

On board the liner were more than fifty millionaires, including John Astor, Margaret Molly Brown, Isidore Strauss, Benjamin Guggenheim. Many of them opposed the creation of the United States Federal Reserve, and their lives were cut short on that ill-fated voyage. And the FRS was successfully created in 1913. A year later, the First World War began, which brought unthinkable profits to American bankers.

The Titanic did not sink

There is a hypothesis that in fact, on that April night of 1912, it was not the Titanic that went to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, but the previously built Olympic, which was actually its twin brother. The substitution was allegedly made by a ship-owning company for economic reasons: the Olympic needed repair, but it was more profitable to simply sink it than to repair it, since in the event of its collapse, the owners were entitled to impressive compensation from the insurers. The inconsistency of this theory was proved during one of the expeditions, when it was possible to find the serial number that belonged to the Titanic - 401.

The cause of the disaster was a fire

Ray Boston, a British researcher who has devoted two decades to studying the circumstances of the loss of the liner, believes that the fire on board was to blame. It really took place, but even before the ship was sent on a voyage, and did not have any serious consequences.

The steamer was ruined by the pursuit of the prize

The Titanic was not the fastest ocean liner of its time, however, there is a version that the captain of the ship was chasing the prestigious Blue Ribbon of the Atlantic award, given to those who are the fastest to get from the Old World to the New. It was because of this, allegedly, that great speed was gained, which did not allow to maneuver in time when an iceberg appeared. However, at that time, the record time was shown by the vessel "Mauritania" with an average speed of just over 26 knots, which even theoretically could not be developed by the "Titanic".

The liner was sunk by a German submarine

During one of the expeditions, the researchers found six holes in the most vulnerable parts of the hull of the British vessel, which, presumably, could leave the torpedoes fired by the German substrate. There is no convincing evidence of this, but the surviving passengers of the Titanic claimed to have heard some kind of explosions after contact with the iceberg. True, it could well have been the sounds of exploding boilers.

The curse of the pharaohs

Exotic version, more like stuffing. "Titanic" became a victim of the famous "curse of the pharaohs", which overtakes everyone who touches the mummies of Ancient Egypt. On board the ship, the mummy of an ancient Egyptian priestess was transported to the States, at the head of which was a figurine of the god of death, Osiris. However, this theory can only be seriously considered by especially superstitious people.
