Self-realization of a person is understood by the creators of the practice of "personal growth" as a movement towards market success. And the appearance in our country of many training centers is quite natural. A narrow understanding of personality development is not alien to very many. Among them are managers and company owners. It is they who form the order for many Russian training centers.
However, this does not mean that “personal growth” practices are ineffective. They emerged in the 1960s and 1970s in the United States as a means of maintaining and enhancing the work activity of company personnel by raising high expectations in people. Ambitions are implanted by "personal growth" not only in a materialistic direction, but also with commercial - materialistic - goals. Consumer craving becomes, in the hands of coaches, a tool that pushes people to work without thinking about their real interests.
"Personal growth" as a business technology helps to avoid the question of increasing the material interest of an employee. Instead of genuine benefits and opportunities, he is instilled in the desire to quickly climb the career ladder. There is no need to talk about an increase in the quality of work or the development of a person's abilities. The problem is solved differently: the exploitation of psychological problems and emotional instability of people is organized, while they may think that there is a progress of an established personality. In this sense, "personal growth" may well be called the neoliberal method.
"Personal growth" allows you to encourage employees to work hard and with greater intensity at the same pay.
Growth disease can be very difficult. Having lost faith in the guidelines for leadership development, having suffered with career failures and at least partially realizing the cynicism of the “mentors”, a person easily falls into depression. Thoughts about vertical takeoff no longer come to the chair of the big boss, and the individual does not think about horizontal development either, feeling himself a failure. Improving the professional level, gaining authority from colleagues through reliability and knowledge is not understood by them as necessary, because work is not understood as a source of satisfaction. It is only a springboard to the market success of the individual.
“A person only through full awareness and enlightenment of knowledge can understand the truth and the degree of his responsibility for his actions. That only in this way is it possible to really develop, and that such an observation of the observer or observers is the only correct one. The evolution of consciousness and capabilities can be compared to biathlon. A person with a certain evolutionary speed "runs" from one key point of his development to another. How quickly a given person reaches the next key evolutionary point of his development depends on talent, personal qualities and capabilities. Having reached the next key point of his development, a person is faced with a qualitatively new or new tasks, which he can cope with correctly only if he can correctly and fully assess the tasks that have arisen, develop an effective tactics and strategy for solving them, and will have the necessary properties and qualities to make these decisions a reality. If everything is correct, there is a transition to a new quality level and the evolutionary "run" continues until the next key evolutionary point, etc. etc.
In the case of a wrong decision or non-optimal decision of the “shooter”, qualitatively new evolutionary “targets” at the key point are not “hit” and the unfortunate “shooter” receives penalty evolutionary “circles”, after passing which, he again finds himself in the same key evolutionary "Point" where again faced with the need to correctly solve the emerging evolutionary problems - to hit the "bull's eye" all evolutionary "targets". And this will continue until all the key evolutionary "targets" are "hit" from the first "shot". And after that - again the evolutionary "run" to the next key evolutionary "point". What is not an evolutionary "biathlon"!
