It so happened that in many posts I mention and express my gratitude to my readers and commentators. This post is no exception. Thanks for pointing out these amazing shots. Yuri Shapovalov … And he shared the following pictures …

Of course, I supplement them with my comments and the rest of the photographic material, but the theme is often laid by my readers. So.

This is a grotto in the Alexander Garden in Moscow (clickable)

Alexander Garden - a park in the center of Moscow. The year of foundation is considered to be 1812 on the site of the Neglinnaya River. Located on the northwest side of the Kremlin in the Kitay-gorod region of Moscow. The area of the garden is about 10 hectares. There are many historical objects in the garden - the Kutafya Tower of the Kremlin, the Italian grotto, an obelisk dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov, Click on the photo to enlarge and see the details. Look at the blocks that are in the masonry on the right. From what buildings did such beauty remain? Who or what destroyed?

Details even closer (clickable). Stunning ornamental fragments on white stone blocks (remember the name of Moscow - Belokamennaya). And also someone's face on a stone.

And these ornaments resemble the faces and ornaments on the St. George Cathedral in the city of Yuryev-Polsky. You can read and see about him here … And it was officially built in 1234.

But let's move on:

At the very bottom - you can see the upper element of the antique column, already "worn out".

If it was collected after the fire of 1812, why weren't these buildings restored? And did they dump everything in this heap and create a symbolic masonry? Or was something attributed to this fire?

Nice laying of a pond, as in St. Petersburg. Only there is granite, and here the stone is softer.

tanyacher … The wall behind the Metropol Hotel. Below are white blocks, not bricks.

And here are photos from the category: if you want to hide something, put / put it on the most visible place (with Yuri's comments):

For example, under the nose in Moscow, right on the street, in the most conspicuous place:

They are very old, there are two of them next door. Absolutely identical, moreover, familiar stone masters, in shock, how could such a thing be done even in the 19th century, especially "rings" and "Cherubims", without fear of damaging the edges? And such examples are everywhere, in St. Petersburg, so at every step, in Moscow, less often. And so in every city.

Yes, on the street, right next to the office, there are two beautiful "Vases", obviously antediluvian, on the principle of "Peterhof" - solid cast. I saw them every day did not pay attention. When I looked closely at the fifth point, I did not fall. And it's okay, no one sees anything. Thousands pass by. Nothing unusual. But in RIIIIIME! It's true! And here, well. We look:

And this second one is the same, it just failed:

near material:

These are the "antediluvian" flower beds in plain sight. Almost in the center of Moscow.
