Frightening footage of mutant pigs with "double" muscles, which are being raised by a farmer from the Cambodian province of Banteaymeantey, has leaked onto the Web. The man sells not only meat, but also the seeds of genetically modified animals. Animal rights activists are terrified, according to the Mirror.

The desire of farmers to breed such animals is due to the high demand for pork, which is not only in Cambodia, but also in China, the country with the largest meat market on the planet. From each mutant, you can get several times more "product" than from an ordinary pig.

"Two-stranded" pigs were bred by biologists from China and South Korea in 2015. The problem is that out of 32 such animals, only 13 survived to 13 months and only one was considered healthy.

Internet users are shocked by the above frames. People are outraged by the actions of the farmer, to which he goes for the sake of profit. Representatives of the animal protection organization PETA have already become interested in Cambodian mutant pigs.

Two-core pigs, Belgian brawny cows, who's next?

For years, people around the world have been intimidated by Belgian blue cows who look like bodybuilders on steroids. It is difficult for these animals even to simply move.

Work to improve the Belgian meat and dairy herd began in the second half of the 19th century. Bulls from the Shorthorn breed were brought from England, some meat breeds were added from France. Gradually, local cows acquired larger and larger sizes with a fairly low body position.

Animals acquired their modern appearance in the 50s of the 20th century, when, after experiments in Liege by Professor Hancet on artificial insemination, a gene that inhibits muscle development was blocked and the ability to gain meat weight was enhanced. It was then that the breed of Belgian cows was fully formed, which now has the name Blue. Usually it is called: Belgian Blue-White, Belgian Blue or White Flycatcher, Blue Belgian.

This breed is widespread in Belgium, USA, France and Germany. In Russia, it is not yet bred. She is unusual in her appearance, requires responsible care. The main problem is that due to the physical characteristics of these cows, normal birth is almost impossible.

As a result of the formation of large muscle mass, these cows received such a physiological feature as a narrower pelvic lumen. Therefore, normal physiological calving has become almost impossible. In many farms in Europe, calves are removed by caesarean section.

This cow actually evokes strange emotions. Some speak exclusively about their advantages - a large amount of muscle mass, a large daily gain, the breeding of crossbred calves, which still receive one of the two genes responsible for building muscle mass. Gourmets celebrate the unusually tasty meat.

Others frighten with statements about the horrors of GMOs and believe that in fact "it is hiding from the public that calves from such" monsters "are born freaks, and the bulls themselves quickly become numb from being overweight, which leads to an early and painful death."

The topic of genetically modified farm animals has become so acute and relevant that this year the American-South Korean science fiction film "Okja" was released. It tells the story of how a large corporation created huge GMO pigs (similar in appearance to hippos) that had delicious meat.

But in addition to good meat, these animals also had a very developed intellect (not surprising, since many scientists say that people and pigs are very similar to each other). However, the farmers and the corporation do not notice this.
