For the first time in the modern Russian army, Siberian Old Believers teach the military how to survive in the taiga - the video of this unusual experiment was published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

10 soldiers of a mountain motorized rifle brigade were sent to the Siberian taiga for a whole month. During this time, they need to walk 100 kilometers. You will have to get food yourself, as well as heal yourself, if anything happens. The Old Believers who have been living in the taiga for many years have become instructors for the fighters.

“During the training, we faced a problem: our instructors have insufficient survival skills in mountainous taiga areas. To improve military training as instructors, we are for the first time engaging Old Believer instructors, Colonel-General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, commander of the Central Military District, told TASS.

It is noted that the experiment is being carried out on the territory of the Republic of Tuva. The military will have to master the skills of orientation and forward navigation over rough terrain. In addition, they will overcome water obstacles, rocks and gorges. Also, the servicemen will have to make fire and get their own food in extreme taiga conditions.
