So, perhaps, in fact, besides the world visible to all of us, there is some other world? The one in which the souls who have left the bodies dwell? Scientists have made a discovery about the physical processes associated with the movement of souls.

Countless testimonies of people who survived clinical death and allegedly visited the afterlife. They saw themselves from the outside, rushed along some kind of tunnel, communicated with strange entities … Near-death experience (NDE - in English abbreviation) - this is the name of this phenomenon.

But what does he still testify to?

This question once again agitated the progressive public after she got acquainted with the sensational statement of Professor Stuart Hameroff from the Department of Anesthesiology and Psychology at the University of Arizona and concurrently director of the Center for the Study of Consciousness at the same university. He stated that a person's consciousness does not disappear without a trace after his death, but is literally absorbed into the fabric of the Universe. And supposedly the mechanism necessary for the implementation of this process is built into our nervous system.

Materialists deny the existence of the soul - a kind of immaterial substance that idealists assert. And which, according to their belief, after death leaves the physical body, but can return. As is the case with the temporarily dead - those who have only stood on the threshold of the "other world." Therefore materialists, explaining NDE, sin only on a kind of hallucinations generated by a dying brain.

Hameroff, in fact, backed up the idealistic notions materially. He stated about the physical processes associated with the movement of souls.

So, perhaps, in fact, besides the world visible to all of us, there is some other world? The one in which the souls who have left the bodies dwell? Or even the Lord Himself, whose kingdom, as you know, is "not of this world"?

The quanta of consciousness

Interpreting NDE on the Science TV channel, Stuart Hameroff stated that the human brain is a natural quantum computer, our consciousness is its software, and our soul is information accumulated at the quantum level.

According to the anesthesiologist, quantum information cannot be destroyed. Therefore, after the body dies, it merges with the Universe. And there it can already exist for an infinitely long time.

If the patient is resurrected, then the soul returns from space with appropriate memories. And the revived person talks about the tunnel, the bright light and how he left his body.

Stuart Hameroff and his associate Sir Roger Penrose, a famous British physicist and mathematician from Oxford, developed and now defend the so-called quantum theory of consciousness. According to this quasi-religious theory, the human mind has a correspondingly quantum nature.

The main thing in the new theory is that the carriers of consciousness are indicated - these are protein microtubules located inside neurons, which were previously assigned the modest role of "armature" and transport intracellular channels.

Hameroff, back in 1987 in his book Ultimate Computing, suggested that microtubules are underestimated. That not neurons, but they accumulate and process information. Then the professor convinced Penrose of this, who himself thought that it would be time to reconsider the ideas about the work of the brain.

Scientists are now proving that microtubules, by their structure, are best suited to be carriers of quantum properties in the brain. Because they can maintain quantum states for a long time. That is, work as quantum computers.

Carriers of quantum information and, consequently, souls, according to the professor, are woven from some material, "much more fundamental than neurons - from the very fabric of the Universe."
