Works of art, expensive furniture, Persian carpets, collectible clothes and shoes, Rolex watches, many huge rooms, luxurious interior and hemp growing in flower pots. All this wealth Alan Yeomans disguised as an ordinary-looking barn on his mother's plot. Everything would be fine if this person had not declared himself bankrupt and had not been seen in money laundering, fraud and drug trafficking.
Quite an extraordinary case occurred in Derbyshire county (Great Britain). There, the police discovered a mansion, which more than 15 years ago was skillfully disguised as an ordinary barn. It would seem that it’s strange, maybe millionaires have such tastes, but Alan Yeomans turned out to be its owner, who declared himself bankrupt in 2002 and filed a declaration over the years that he had neither real estate nor income.
Every time he told officials that he lived in a barn in his mother’s garden, and only owned furniture worth only $ 380. and hours for 38 dollars. And at this time, instead of the shed, which he constantly reported, he was building a real palace.
So that no one could guess about the location of his secret property, the walls that could be seen outside the site were sheathed with green boards, and the roof was covered with old slate. As a result, all the neighbors saw only a huge barn, which, by the way, was built without any permits.
But since this is a farm building, no one paid attention to it and it would have lasted long enough if Alan Yeomans had not been arrested for a number of crimes related to money laundering and drug trafficking. During the investigative actions, the police raided his "barn" with a search, and when they got inside the barn, they were stunned.
Immediately from the doorway, a luxurious two-story residence appeared in front of them, more like a palace with a pompous living room for parties, several bedrooms with bathrooms, a library, and its own gym. The mansion had expensive mahogany furniture, ultra-modern appliances, exclusive Persian carpets, antiques and collectible luxury items, the cost of which was simply off scale.
A room was also found, the contents of which are described by local media as "Aladdin's cave with countless treasures." Among the huge variety of expensive items, rare masterpieces of art, collections of Jimmy Choo bags and shoes, several Rolex watches, a white gold bracelet with 18K diamonds, an original painting depicting Queen Elizabeth I, antique Chinese vases, etc. were revealed.
According to eyewitnesses, during the search they also found a hidden greenhouse with hemp planted, the harvest of which was estimated at 50 thousand dollars. Examining the find, the experts determined that its cultivation was put on stream. And in order to have a sales market, Alan Yeomans organized three shell companies, although he was still listed as bankrupt. And the most incomprehensible thing is that with such wealth and money, he also stole electricity, connecting illegally to the nearest power source.
All found riches and antiques were confiscated and handed over for auction, and the plants were destroyed. Despite Alan Yeomans' assurances that all luxury items were just cheap fakes, expert examination confirmed their authenticity and they were sold at auctions for good money.
An interesting fact from the editors of Novate.ru:The property found was estimated at $ 1.5 million. This led to another penalty for hiding income and bankruptcy fraud. Now the resourceful drug dealer faces a fine of 820 thousand dollars, and in case of non-payment - an increase in the prison term for another 5 years.
