Can children remember who they were in a past life? Regulars on blogs and popular forums do not even doubt this. Strange, and often even creepy, statements of children can be scooped out of there with a bucket:

You can, of course, write off all this on the notions of members of the forum out of boredom, if not for one "but". Every family has similar stories about children. For example, one of my acquaintances said that as a three-year-old child, Alexander Nevsky recognized himself in a painting by Korin. During a tour of the Tretyakov Gallery, to the surprise of his parents, he pointed his finger at the painting and said: it's me. For a long time, this confession became a family joke. During the feasts, the adults asked Seryozha to "find himself" in the book of reproductions of paintings by the Tretyakov Gallery, and the parents amused the guests by giving the child a picture of Korin and asking "who is this." But, as an acquaintance later assured, he called himself for a reason. When, as an adult, he underwent surgery and anesthesia, he saw scenes from the ancient battle, the banner, and himself watching this battle from the top of the hill. He associated the image of himself standing with the figure of Nevsky seen in the painting.

Of course, much more such evidence can be read on foreign websites and foreign sources. Our foreign speakers periodically talk about this phenomenon. Recently French writer and science journalist Bernard Verbertalked about his experience of studying past lives. Werber is sure that he was a doctor in St. Petersburg, and in the 19th century - a dancer in Paris : he received this knowledge in a state of regressive hypnosis, a special technique quite popular in the West. To a person who is brought into this state, it seems that he is in a gallery with a large number of doors, where each door is one of his past lives. By pushing the door, you can get into space like a scene and see the moments of one of your past lives.

Moreover, already during the interview, the speaker emphasized:

- Many children remember their past lives themselves, and for this they do not need to be under hypnosis.

Perhaps your soul will enter the boss

As you may have noticed, most of Stevenson's examples come from India. This is due to the fact that it was there that the doctor collected his material. However, Stevenson had no doubt that with proper research, similar cases would be recorded in Europe and urged his colleagues and friends not to dismiss the stories of children, not to call it fiction and writing.

With the advent of all kinds of forums, a huge number of such children's testimonies from around the world were made public.

For example, here is a story gleaned from one of the domestic forums:

A lot of this kind of evidence can be found in the comments of the instagram channel mama_tyt. Moreover, the favorite kind of stories of commentators - about how young children "chose" their parents. If you believe the subscribers, then their young children constantly emphasize that they chose this particular mother from the other proposed options. Children describe the parenting process as going to the store or showing suitable candidates on TV. One of the most curious dialogues given by subscribers is this:

“Mom, I chose you, because I wanted to you,” her daughter told her mother every now and then.

- What about dad? - the woman once specified.

- Well, - the girl hesitated, - you chose your dad yourself.

Have your children confessed to something like that? If you have children under the age of five, ask them who they were in the past. Write to us in the comments. "Komsomolskaya Pravda" will collect and publish the most interesting stories

A SKEPTIC LOOK

Fantasies for the sake of parental attention

Belief in reincarnation and transmigration of souls is one of the most common pseudoscientific delusions. For example, according to the US National Science Foundation, almost one in ten Americans believes in reincarnation and transmigration.

Official science does not confirm these things. Moreover, the research of Ian Stevenson and his colleagues has been repeatedly criticized by scientists and psychiatrists and has even been recognized as the model and gold standard of pseudoscience. So, childhood memories of past lives were recorded years and entire decades later, when these children had already become adults, or from the words of their relatives. Some children even managed to get to know their "past" family, and it was impossible to distinguish the truthful details in the story from embellishment.

Most of the cases Stevenson describes took place in India, where reincarnation is the basis of religion, and children are immersed in all this from birth. Immersion in past lives with the help of hypnosis also looks dubious. Human memory is already an unreliable thing (especially with experienced stress), and hypnosis additionally awakens long-forgotten sensations and impressions and even creates false memories. Moreover, Stevenson himself wrote in books that he used LSD and mescaline to spur his own memories of a past life.

But what about other children, not Hindus, who talk about their past lives? Psychiatrists are sure that it's all about the rich imagination of children. And the amazing details that they give out about their past life, in most cases, are gleaned from books and films.

For example, the Finnish psychiatrist Reime Kampfman tells about one of his patients, who allegedly in a past life was a peasant in 13th century England and even spoke Old English. However, later it turned out that the girl recites one of the old poems, which she saw in the library book as a child and eventually completely forgot about it, but in the subconscious the information stuck.

Another example is given by the American psychologist Raymond Moody. His patient, under hypnosis, saw himself as a member of an Indian tribe and described in detail the temples and structures of his settlement. However, it turned out that many years ago, as a small child, this patient together with his parents went on an excursion in an ancient Indian city, and these ruins, supplemented by childhood fantasies, were deposited in his memory.

Often children themselves sincerely believe in these notions. Consciously or not, this is how babies try to attract attention from their parents. And to admit to an invention for them means to lose this attention. Therefore, they throw in all new non-existent details and details.
