A group of initiative residents of Omsk decided to embody the success of Curitiba in the fight against garbage in their city.
Spring came. The snow melts and exposes us … garbage. Yes, an empty plastic soda bottle thawed out of the snow in the schoolyard. There, near the shop, someone threw out a cookie wrapper, here - an aluminum can, a rod from a ballpoint pen. A Chinese lantern, burnt out by the sun, hung on a tree, and the multi-colored confetti that appeared from under the snow, for some reason, is not at all pleasing to the eye, but oppressive.
EVERYTHING IS FILLED WITH GARBAGE, HORROR !!!
Who did it? Yes, someone who, we are with you! Our children had fun, showering each other with confetti, immediately throwing empty wrappers and bottles. They are not out of spite, they just did not know what garbage is and what can be done with it.
On March 14, a new ecological project "Curitiba in Siberia" starts at Omsk school # 10.
The new eco-action of the "Soul of the City" association (eco-picnic, action "Urn", local food market O! City, art-subbotniks) will take place on the outskirts of Omsk, in the Solnechny district. The activists are trying to inspire the residents of the village to make changes in their own backyard. Everything will start with schools, the pilot project will be held at school # 10.
The name of the project is not accidental. The guys got acquainted with the material from which they learned that the Brazilian city of Curitiba got rid of the problem of garbage back in the 80s with the help of simple methods: it introduced school eco-lessons and turned garbage into currency: they were given food and public transport passes for it. Eco-propaganda was especially active in the slum area, where houses were literally buried in spontaneous dumps. Simple and cheap solutions helped transform the city quickly. The children learned to be smart about the city and then taught their parents to use consciously.
Curitiba in Siberia is primarily about eco-lessons in schools. The first class hour devoted to ecology and the topic of waste sorting will be held under the slogan: “Divide and Hello”. Children from the first to the eleventh grade will learn about the problems of garbage, they will be told where the waste from the streets goes and how to give a plastic bottle or an old diary a chance for a second life. Organizer of the project: Movement "City Soul"
But the guys are not going to stop there. There are plans to create infrastructure "as in Europe", garbage cans for sorting waste. There will also be subbotniks, quick changes in the courtyards (art objects and children's corners), posters in the houses where children live.
The project is organized on a voluntary basis, so the organizers are happy to receive any help, any pretty penny. Everyone can help the project. It is very simple to do this: you can transfer a donation to a Yandex wallet or to a Sberbank card:
Yandex. Money: 41001281065081
Sberbank: 4276 4500 1544 9115
(Commentary: Voluntary donation from Curitiba)
The first donations will go towards making posters for schools and waste bins for separate waste collection. We need visual materials on sorting waste, saving energy and water.
