The state of state power today raises many complaints, and from those who can hardly be counted among the overthrowers of various kinds. The perspectives of the current post-Soviet landscapes are more and more characterized by one word: dead end.

The way out of it is seen not only in socio-economic, but primarily in personnel changes. Russian history has encountered such a situation more than once - in 1917 and 1991, when the epochs were passing away, the vectors of development changed. Therefore, it is interesting to remember how these fateful processes for the country proceeded.

The Great October, contrary to popular belief, did not entail a cardinal personnel change. Change of elitesnever happens all at once, due to some event. Today it seems: the triumph of the revolution has led to a shake-up of everyone and everything. In reality, it took a long time. Suffice it to say that after the Civil War, the old specialists were about 60%The Naval People's Commissariat, in the People's Commissariat of Railways there were 80%, in the People's Commissariat of Education - 60%, in the People's Commissariat of Social Security - over 40%.

Of course, this does not quite look like a cadre revolution. The restructuring of the state apparatus started later, at the turn of the 1920s-1930s, and ended in 1937. At first, practically the entire category of the so-called “former” (with rare exceptions) was removed from the ruling stratum. Then it came to the Bolshevik beau monde, who got used to the imperious Olympus.

With regard to the latter, it is often repeated that the revolution is devouring its own children. But who were these "children"? Professional revolutionaries who embodied the dream of a world international. Having acted as the engine of the Russian revolution, they could just as well have participated in the revolution of the Spaniards or Hindus. Their perception of Russia has never been, to put it mildly, sublime. These leaders expected the collapse of the bourgeois world in the advanced England, Germany or France.

It was only after the international frenzy of the 1920s that there was a break with the Marxist classics. national ideologemes … Of course, the Leninist guard could not exist in an atmosphere where excerpts from the Communist Manifesto are served in the same okroshka as Slavophilism. But another thing is interesting: how its representatives behaved in these conditions. Only ten percentThe Bolshevik elite, headed by Trotsky, did not find it possible to put up with the growing patriotic wave and disappeared from the heights of power.

But with the rest, the overwhelming part, the matter turned out to be much more complicated. Understanding where the winds are blowing, these true Marxists, nevertheless, they began to adapt to new trends, declaring all kinds of support for them. Under no pretext did they want to leave their chosen high positions, clinging to them tightly. They tried to somehow get along with the reality unnatural for them, with an effort to digest it.

Stalin, as the architect of this course, was well aware of the insides of this elite. I did not experience the slightest illusion that at an opportunity, patriotic politics, together with its author, would be trampled down with great pleasure. Therefore, since the mid-1930s, the number one on the agenda was the question of the elimination of the old Leninist guard.

They tried to get rid of her, as they say, in an amicable way. It was not an easy moment. Former specialists who, for various reasons, ended up in the Soviet camp is one thing. The other was the party members of the pre-revolutionary period or the Civil War, who had the right to be called their own. Stalin planned to get rid of them through elections, moreover, really alternative. The calculation was that the majority of this public, without support from above, would not overcome the people's filter.

But this "peaceful" scenario was thwarted during the backstage confrontation. The year 1937 became the denouement of the protracted conflict. In this grinder was repressed 80% delegates to the XVII Congress of the CPSU (b). A completely different party came to the fore, where the first roles were played by completely different, in an ideological sense, cadres; the way up was cleared for them. That is, what the October Revolution initiated, stretched out for twenty years.

The country went through the next fateful turn before our eyes, in the last decade of the twentieth century. But even now about any novelty there is no need to talk about the post-Soviet elite. A new reality based on capitalist values has taken hold. Moreover, it is extremely fast and tough, and therefore on conditions that are not very justified from the point of view of state benefits. But on the other hand it promised rapid enrichment a certain circle of the elect.

The conversion of power into private assets, property, accounts was headed by the same party and economic asset, "Golden youth". Frankly speaking, these changes were started, as we now understand, for the purposeful "packaging" created by the labor of several generations, declared losers. The "costs" of an unprecedented corruption bacchanalia, probably, can be considered an active participation in the construction of a new life criminal rabble, merged into the Russian establishment.

In terms of elite renewal, the 1990s scenario is even more conservative than the 1920s, when everything was more energetic. Let's remember who took on the burden of leadership in Russia, liberated from the "communist yoke" - a former candidate for membership in the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU Boris Yeltsin … And with him - all the same party asset (Petrov, Skokov, Lobov, Chernomyrdin, etc.) with the "golden" Gaidar youth in the role of a shock reformist force.

It's the same as if, after the October Revolution, one of the Grand Dukes with a group of graduates of the elite Alexandrovsky Lyceum happened to run the Council of People's Commissars.

The ideological similarity between the 1920s and the 1990s is also interesting. 70 years ago, the elite was dominated by the specter of world communism, and at the end of the century - also world, only capitalism. True, in the latter case, it is no longer a ghost, but a quite tangible reality, which the majority of the Soviet nomenklatura dreamed of since the late Brezhnev times. Russia was programmed for a Western way of life, outside of which the elites could not imagine their future.

but the delights of the bourgeois "international" did not divide a significant part of the population, which received only the right to a beggarly existence. The authorities (albeit not immediately) realized that maintaining the old paradigm is fraught with serious risks. The discontent that had accumulated quite a bit among the people served as an impetus for the transformation of the existing post-Soviet "democratic" model.

Hence - demand for patriotismas the central element of a system that is updated on the fly. Moreover, in all areas: domestic policy and, as its continuation, foreign. Integrity in the international arena, an open break with the liberal tradition, a narrowing of the corruption space - all these are characteristic signs of the times.

The situation is in many ways similar to the mid-1930s, when, on the one hand, the ideology has already undergone significant changes, and on the other hand, the former elite, nurtured on a completely different basis, still remains. How is she able to exist in the conditions of "nationalization" of her excessive appetites? You can only imagine this if you have a very rich imagination.

Although publicly "risen" on the plunder of the country, the figures demonstrate loyalty to what is happening. If we again draw parallels with the pre-war era, then now only ten percent of them openly protested against the new state course, refusing to be in power. But the overwhelming majority, just as in the 1930s, gritting their teeth, cling to their status position.

It is impossible to watch without irony how the owners of large property near the Garden Ring and mansions near Moscow are fighting in patriotic impulses. How media people curse the West, whose children are chic in Europe and America. How "caringly" the church-going businessmen broadcast about mercy. A unique phenomenon burst into our life - "Patriotism of federal channels".

All this clownery, with which we are stuffed every single day, is haunted in fact by one thing - extend the existing status quo … But patriotic variations in the performance of the beneficiaries of the Soviet collapse do not diminish, but only increase the irritation of the people. Only the loss of a sense of reality allows us to hope that this will continue forever.

The radical renewal of power after 1917 took two decades. And now we come to something similar. Although the process, if we bear in mind the 1990s, has clearly dragged on. We find ourselves in a difficult situation, more alarming than in the 1920s. It is no coincidence that our time was even dubbed "Anthropological catastrophe".

The system they have built together with their refuge in the face of "patriotism of federal channels" must sink into oblivion. But this will happen only if radical ideological turn … It is a shame to be rich when millions are living nearby in poverty - this is the true gospel of change. A new elite should form around him.
