However, freelancers of the Western intelligence services of the world, as one can safely call ISIS fighters, revealed very interesting details to the world regarding this ancient monument.

The sculptures and decorations turned out to be made of modern reinforced concrete. This is clearly seen in the frames with channels and fittings, which were opened during the destruction of the monuments.

This is actually a "large-scale reconstruction". Or a construction site?

The most harmless version is that all these are the results of the reconstruction that took place during the reign of Saddam Hussein (1979-2003). However, in this regard, the question arises - what part of what is presented as the greatest monument of 2 thousand years ago was restored and strengthened, and what was this monument like before restoration. The question is not simple, there are practically no old photographs of this complex on the Internet.
