It is no secret that the prototypes of the "flying" mountains in the movie are quite real mountains, which any tourist can admire.

Anyone who has watched Avatar has been impressed by the fantasy world and nature there, one of the wonders of which is the flying mountains.

But few people think about the prototypes of such miracles that really exist in our world with you. But now anyone can get acquainted with the unique mountains, they just need to come to China.

Zhangjiaze National Park spread its wings over a vast area. The mountain columns here are formed by means of a specific rock (quartz and sandstone), as well as many millions of years of erosion and weathering.

Today the number of mountain formations exceeds several thousand. And some of them reach heights of 700 meters and more.

One of the most remarkable mountains, which as if hovering above the ground on a thin foundation, used to be called poetically in Chinese: "Southern Sky", but paying tribute to the modern popularity of cinema, the mountain was renamed "Avatar-Hallelujah".

Looking at this strange upward expanding column growing from the depths of the jungle, it is impossible to understand: What does it hold on there at all, how does it not fall?

Wulingyuan National Park, which, in fact, includes the region of unusual mountains, was formed relatively recently: a little more than 30 years ago, however, recognizing the uniqueness of the place, UNESCO almost immediately included it in the World Heritage Site … And the Chinese authorities maintain the ecological balance in the region, protect the nature of the park in every possible way.

Therefore, for millions of tourists who come here to personally experience the unbelievable, there are a number of strict rules that must be adhered to, otherwise a very, very decent fine may be comprehended. For instance, it is not allowed to make a fire here, and even a tourist will be punished for a cigarette or a lit match.

Due to the humid climate and warm weather in Zhangjiajie, travelers often encounter fog or low clouds. However, this not only does not scare people away, but, on the contrary, attracts. because precisely when a thick layer of fog lies in the valleys, the mountains are most like soaring in the sky … And the photographers get perfect shots.
