"SP": - Irina Vladimirovna, what are the main conclusions made at this forum?

- Most importantly, the US GMO project is a failure. Contrary to advertisements and pseudoscientific conclusions of corporations that specialize in GMO technologies, the experience of growing and consuming GMOs has led so many experts and manufacturers to the disappointing conclusion: these technologies do not increase yields and lead to uncontrolled consumption of pesticides in order to somehow preserve agricultural productivity … Yes, at first there is a positive effect on yields, but then farmers are forced to buy ever increasing volumes of agricultural chemicals, literally poisoning their fields. Renowned Indian activist Vandana Shiva told us about the tragedy of Indian farmers who committed suicide due to a lack of GM crops. These technologies are imposed by force. At the forum there were alarming reports from experts from Argentina. They told how farmers were driven from their lands and then sowed with GMO crops.

"SP": - What else was said?

- We mainly discussed the effects on animals and humans of GMO crops and glyphosate, to which most GMO crops are resistant. If the latter are resistant to a chemical, then it is actively used. As a result, the plant accumulates this chemical. As a result, traces of toxic substances were found in milk, blood and cells of the internal organs of animals. In my report "Experimental evidence of the dangers of GMOs" I drew attention to the imperfection of technologies for producing GMOs.

"SP": - Did you provide data on the dangers of GMOs?

- The forum presented shocking data on genetic deformities and infertility of transgenic animals, on the pathology of internal organs and reproductive dysfunctions in pigs, on autism and dementia in children whose food was GMO. The well-known GMO fighter, veterinarian from the United States, Don Huber, reported on the deterioration of animal health from organic feed with GMOs, and the German farmer Gottfried Glockner - on the death of cows from genetically modified corn.

“SP: - And the Europeans? How do they relate to these technologies?

- Negatively. An ecologist from France who previously worked at Greenpeace spoke. He talked about what laws and ways Europe is using to combat GMOs.

"SP": - Could this forum have political consequences?

- The forum was attended by scientists and manufacturers from five continents, including from the EU and America. Of course, our international scientific attack on American corporations producing GMOs also has political significance, since money from the sale of GMO products, wherever they are produced, flows like a river into the US budget. But this is not an end in itself. It is important for us to preserve the health of mankind and the ecology of the Earth. It is a pity that in the USA, in the greedy pursuit of profit, they are ready for anything. However, if Beijing strongly opposes the imposed GMO technologies, it will surely sober up many in the world.

"SP": - Is it known about the income of companies that specialize in the GMO market?

- Perhaps the most famous company among GMO seed producers is Monsanto. Its executives said that in the coming years, the profit from the soybean sector outside the US alone will amount to more than $ 1 billion. Thus, the growth in profitability will double in the past five years. It is such a powerful company that it can influence the policies of the White House. Think of the infamous HR 933 law signed by Obama, which forbids federal courts from imposing a ban on the sale of GMOs, regardless of proven harm.

Americans are ready to "break" anyone who dares to call GMOs evil. In this regard, the declaration of the forum says that the world community is obliged to stop the total persecution of scientists and people who disagree with GM technologies. Non-US puppet governments should increase their spending on research and development on the negative effects of GM technology. But most importantly, it is necessary to stop the industrial production of GMO seeds, and strictly prohibit their cultivation outside of specialized laboratories. Let this statement of the forum be declarative, but the United States is afraid of any public statements in this direction. Beijing is not afraid to talk about it, which means that China is no longer afraid of the United States.

"SP": - However, they say that the Chinese themselves stuff their agricultural products and soil with something incomprehensible. They say, otherwise, a huge country with relatively small agricultural land will simply not be able to feed itself

- It's no secret that the PRC is the main producer of glyphosate, which is known in Russia as a herbicide with the Roundup trademark. In addition, China has a leading position in the export of GMO soybeans. In this regard, many experts fear that Beijing, with its potential refusal to support GMO technologies, could bring down the global food market. However, it is naive to believe that the Celestial Empire will take and overnight close its huge factories for the production of various herbicides necessary for the production, including unnatural rural products - GMOs. Data from China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) suggests otherwise. Despite the fact that the agrochemical production of China in the first half of this year fell by 9, 2%, the production of pesticides, on the contrary, increased by 2, 9%.

On the other hand, for a reason, the Chinese state television company CCTV released a story about the production of genetically modified rice, which has been sold in two provinces of the PRC for two years now. Meanwhile, the legislation explicitly prohibits this. Chinese society is outraged.

"SP": - Was the investigation started?

- Yes, this incident was taken very seriously. The investigation found that GM rice was produced in the southern provinces of Hubei and Hunan, where this product is the main product in the diet of the inhabitants of the region. The toughest conclusions have been drawn. Moreover, the Chinese top military officials have categorically banned purchases for the needs of the army of any food that contains GMO ingredients. Moreover, with the wording - "for reasons of health safety of servicemen." The PRC clearly understands that GMOs are harmful to current and future generations. It is no coincidence that a meeting on the state of affairs in this area was held in Beijing and received the informal name "anti-GMO forum".

"SP": - Do you think Russia's retaliatory sanctions against agricultural products from countries that supported the United States can benefit our agricultural sector?

- Russia is able to feed itself with quality food. I think it would be a sin not to take advantage of the opportunity to impose prohibitive sanctions, if there are political grounds for this. Let them eat their own GMOs.

A recent study commissioned by the US Mothers' NGO found that urine samples from American women showed glyphosate levels 10 times higher than in Europe (glyphosate is the main systemic herbicide used in GMO technologies. Refers to a toxic pesticide - ed.).

What's more, testing of a glyphosate herbicide in the breast milk of American women has shown it to be present in three out of ten cases. Moreover, the levels of this toxic chemical reach 166 μg / L (in Florida), or 1600 times higher than defined in the European drinking water directive.

For comparison: in Switzerland, such studies have shown the level of this herbicide in breast milk at the level of 0.16 μg / l. But this also caused alarm among local residents. The largest amount of this "agrochemistry" in the EU was found in the breast milk of women in Latvia - 1.82 mcg / l.

The reason for this significant difference between Europe and America is that only one GMO product is allowed in the EU - MON810 corn.
