The main source of chemical effects on our body is the food with which we come into closest contact. Food is important for any living organism, but people perceive it on a completely different level than any other organism.

Our whole life revolves around food. We celebrate and mourn by consuming food. Many people celebrate the most significant events in their lives at the table, with family and friends. We literally represent what we eat. Food supplies the materials for building the architecture of our body. She becomes us.

We are what we eat

Food determines many aspects of our life, and they change over time. In ancient times, people settled near abundant sources of food and water. These places turned into villages and cities. The maps of ancient civilizations were drawn with a fork.

Our ancestors collected food from trees, on land, on the shores of seas and rivers, and obtained it through hunting and fishing. They ate when they had the opportunity. Food deteriorated quickly without refrigerators. In just a few decades, our food system has changed dramatically.

90% of groceries in supermarkets are sold in some type of packaging. To extend the shelf life, they are saturated with preservatives that kill bacteria. In addition, most products contain additives that give them an attractive color, taste or appearance. The remaining 10% of products in supermarkets - vegetables, fruits, fish, meat and dairy products - also go through several stages of unnatural processing.

Every day we hear stories of contaminated food sold in our supermarkets and fast food outlets. We learn about deadly bacteria, about the seizure of huge consignments of meat and vegetable products, the reason for which is our practice of mass production of food (as a result, more and more products are irradiated for disinfection and are deprived of a significant part of nutrients).

Products from modern supermarkets contain chemicals that, by themselves or in combination with each other, can cause disease.

Not so long ago, a shipment of products from a fish farm was arrested and its owner was fined when it was discovered that the fish at the farm were being fed with defective dog food.

Think about it: what is not good enough for your dog becomes a building block for your body - and at a much higher cost than dog food. If it's safer to share lunch with your pet than to buy fish, which health professionals unanimously advise you to eat, the conclusion suggests itself that the pursuit of cheapness and convenience is insane, and if this insanity is not stopped, it will lead us to the hospital. (have you ever seen a hospital meal?).

One of the most effective ways to reduce your body's exposure to toxins and increase your nutrient intake is to spend more money on food that is safe, and buy locally sourced fresh produce whenever possible.

Imported food travels a long way and is exposed to a range of chemicals before it reaches your table from fields, farms and fish pans:

They are exposed to X-ray irradiation, which kill bacteria and at the same time destroy nutrients, pasteurization (prolonged heating to destroy pathogenic microorganisms, along with which useful substances die), hydrogenation (changes in the composition of fats and oils to increase the shelf life of products, as a result after consumption they damage the cells of the body in food) and even cosmetic procedures, for example, waxing fruits (to make them look more attractive).

You eat what you are

Today, the incidence of two hormone-related cancers, breast and prostate, is rapidly increasing, and thyroid disorders have become epidemic proportions, experts point to phthalates as one of their causes.

There is another aspect to food toxicity. The modern man's standard diet, rich in refined grains and sugars and processed foods, promotes unhealthy addictions and fluctuations in energy levels - a key factor in promoting the development and maintenance of our current state of toxicity.

I often ask my patients if they know what the phrase “you are what you eat” means. Many answer in the affirmative: the quality of the food you eat directly translates into the quality of your body.

More specifically, it means that the food you eat becomes the "building blocks" of your body, from which bones, muscles, tissues and even molecules and enzymes are made up that produce the necessary chemical reactions. You are literally what you eat.

Andres, my friend and patient, once surprised me a lot by saying, “Doc, the opposite is also true. You eat what you are. Feeling exhausted, lethargic, and emotionally depressed from toxin poisoning, I crave food that will energize me.

Addiction to toxic food is a classic symptom of a toxic condition. Toxins that cannot be eliminated immediately and are retained in the blood soon settle in tissues and become covered with mucus. This is how the cells protect themselves. Mucus is a dense and sticky substance; it resonates with and attracts negative, toxic thoughts and emotions. The opposite is also true: negative thoughts and emotions contribute to the production of mucus in the tissues.

By clearing mucus during the cleansing program, you will stop craving food that helps you produce food. As you supply your cells with the nutrients they long-awaited, your body's natural ability to regenerate and heal itself will be restored.

By giving up "dead", processed food, you will gain a taste for living, healthy food that will saturate you with vital energy. This is what Andres was longing for at the end of the third week of the program.
