When many people write on the Internet that we need to introduce the death penalty for theft and corruption, I disagree. The death penalty is needed in Russia, but in other articles. And at the expense of theft and corruption, it is enough to do quite obvious things to tighten the absolutely liberal criminal code in this part and put things in order in the judiciary in Russia.

It is obvious that in our country billions are stolen, not because they are confident of impunity, but because they are confident, based on numerous examples, that they will get off very easily.

I will repeat once again either an anecdote or an incident from life about how a neighbor runs to a neighbor and rejoices that he was appointed to a long-desired position - “I’ll work for three years, I’ll sit for three years (they will not give it anymore) and I will be provided with my family for all life . It doesn't have to be that way. And most importantly - everything is according to the law. They caught, convicted, the Interior Ministry's indicators are normal, the judges have everything according to the law - and those who stole everything are fine.

That is why you read stories when the head of a major state-owned enterprise steals billions - he is imprisoned and a new one comes in his place. They also steal and imprison him. The third one sits in the same place and he also steals! And he knows that they are being caught and in his place they have already caught two and still steals!

And all because the huge money passing by such leaders is in no way adequate to the severity of the punishment provided for by the Criminal Code.

After all, there was talk of total confiscation in such cases! After all, there was talk about 10 or 100 times the fine from the stolen amount. And all the same, the category of economic crimes in our country is considered very light in terms of the degree of punishment, and even Putin speaks about it with irony, he could have forced the society to seriously lighten punishment for economic crimes.

As a result, it turns out that the lieutenant general of the Ministry of Defense stole the salaries of subordinates in the amount of more than 4 million rubles and received three years CONDITIONALLY, and even the court canceled his fine. As a result, Chvarkov was released from custody in the courtroom. Awesome! And this is far from the only absurdly lenient sentence to those who stole millions, billions of state rubles, most of which have not even been returned to the budget.

Chvarkov was accused of embezzling funds under a state contract between the Military Academy of the General Staff and JSC NPO RusBITech, which was concluded in 2015. According to the investigation, at the direction of Chvarkov from the Academy of the General Staff, “dead souls” were employed at RusBITech, who were “paid” a salary that was subsequently appropriated by the Chvarkovs.

Although, at the same time, the prosecutor's office insisted on sentencing Chvarkov to 4, 5 years in prison, a fine of 450 thousand rubles and deprivation of military rank. This is an adequate punishment. Is not it?

However, the court explained the lenient punishment by the presence of mitigating circumstances in the case. These are the general's military merit, his state of health, impeccable service, length of service (since August 1978) and state awards, including for the return of Crimea to work in Syria, where Chvarkov headed the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Parties.

But for me, if such an honored person became a thief, he does not have the right to carry the rank of an officer, despite the merits. Others will not be okay. But such "extenuating" circumstances will be a call to action for others. If he did something illegal by accident, well, there a pedestrian jumped out onto the road or signed a piece of paper thinking one thing, and getting another. And then there are targeted actions! Obviously!
