Before you start planning a place for a well and looking for performers, it is worth finding out at what depth the aquifer lies. After all, it may turn out that drilling an artesian well is not up to the task.
Plugged into the ground to a certain depth, you can always find the purest artesian water. Such a statement is a popular misconception that exists among the people, and primarily among those who have never been involved in creating a well in their area. This is because there simply does not exist any “definite depth”. There is an "artesian layer". Now let's figure out what he is.
So, as already noted, there is simply no single value for the depth of the aquifer. The artesian layer is always separated from the earth's surface by at least two water-resistant sandy horizons. It is thanks to them that underground waters remain so clean. Sands prevent the seepage of dirty groundwater and rainwater.
Each of these layers is 30 to 50 meters thick. However, in practice, this figure is often much higher. In the best case, the artesian layer can begin at a depth of 200-350 meters from the surface of the earth. However, much more often it is necessary to drill even deeper, including to the mark of 1,000 meters.
To identify the depth of the artesian waters, you need to seek help from specialists who will conduct special geological exploration, as well as study the existing maps of groundwater occurrence in a particular region. Based on all the data received, specialists will be able to put forward more or less specific versions regarding the state of affairs in the territory of a particular site.
All this should be taken into account before deciding to drill your own well. Do not forget that this is an expensive event.
