This will be the final article on the topic of Thunder Stone. For there is no more sense in any controversy. Unambiguously and definitively - the whole story with the transportation of the Thunder Stone in the version as we know it is a blatant falsification. This is the answer to all those who adhere to the official historical legend. But first things first.

A year ago, I wrote an article about my claims to the official version of the Thunder Stone transportation across the water area of the Gulf of Finland, or rather the Neva Bay. The article is here. After a flurry of criticism and questions, the next article was written with answers to the questions. But even this turned out to be not enough, a number of those who were beyond those who were convinced of the historical version of this myth released a lot of articles criticizing me. They do not accept any arguments, and in order not to enter into polemics they simply banned me. In particular, on KONT, where this issue was discussed most actively. It is possible to finally and irrevocably confirm or refute the official version of the Thunder Stone transportation only by practically checking the depth measurements in the water area of the Neva Bay. If there are traces of the fairway, then the official version has the right to life, if not, then no. Navigational charts of seabed depths are good, but practice is better.

So in order. It is possible to finally and irrevocably resolve the issue of the possible transportation of the Thunder Stone from Lakhta along the water area of the Neva Bay only by empirically checking the depth in a given place. Which is what I did. For this experience, I purchased a professional fishing echo sounder Praktik ER-6Pro2 with a depth gauge function. The thing is good, he sees the jig at depths of 20 meters, the accuracy of measuring the depths is in centimeters. And most importantly, it allows you to accurately determine the depth of the reservoir from the ice, that is, there is no need to drill holes.

Now in St. Petersburg, in the water area of the Gulf of Finland, ice has set, moreover, a thaw, the ice is almost naked, almost without snow, it is comfortable to walk, in general, ideal conditions for an experiment.

Arriving at the Thunder Stone fragments in Lakhta, for a start, I decided to carefully examine it, as a builder first of all. The stone itself and the area around it.

I am surprised that before people did not notice that there were no signs of dragging the stone to the shore. The coastline shows NO signs of formation, that is, leveling of the terrain along the intended path of the stone being dragged. The shore is not even, no bedding, no breakdowns of the hillocks. Everything is virgin. See for yourself, it is directly opposite the "shards of Thunder stone".

On short sections, there is a solid tank course. Bumps and holes. And not small. How some sleepers with rails could be laid here is completely incomprehensible. Rather understandable - nothing. Nobody did anything there. Moreover, counterfeiters could have added something, somewhere, because it is not difficult. But they were too lazy to do this. What for? People are already eating it. We'll write pieces of paper, cook up estimates, draw pictures and that's enough. And it was enough for 250 years already!

Image
Image

There is even a mini lake in the hollow behind the hillock (the first from the coast).

Image
Image

This is the same place when viewed from the coast. Visible is the hillock, and the lake behind it, and the sign on the birch, stating that it was here that the Thunder was dragged the stone.

Image
Image

This is how this bump looks a little to the side, where there are no trees.

Now let's move on to inspecting the stone itself, or rather its fragments, as official historians tell us. Personally, I immediately realized that these were not fragments. This is an ordinary cobblestone, of which there are thousands on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, simply in view of the maximum proximity to the city, chosen by forgers as an object to imitate and confirm the myth. There was an ordinary cobblestone, it was bluntly split in half, one of the halves was divided into three or four more parts. And that's it! Here, eat, look, do not choke with delight.

Image
Image

The holes in which the wedges were inserted are well preserved, and the traces of the wedges can be seen very well.

Image
Image

But along the entire perimeter, we see a classic licked cobblestone. On all sides.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Sharp edges, i.e. splitting marks, are only visible on the INNER parts of the cobblestone! If this stone had been chipped off from the Thunder stone, then such sharp edges should have been on the outer sides, but this is nowhere to be found.

Image
Image

The middle of one of the halves of the stone fell off and rolled off to the side.

Image
Image

Now let's move on to the most important part. To the water. To begin with, there are a lot of stones all over the shore and in the water. On ice they look like pyramids like this.

Image
Image

We depart about 100 meters from the "Thunder of the Stone" and make the first depth measurements. Everywhere the echo sounder consistently shows 40-55 cm. In this case, 53 cm.

Image
Image

A little closer to the city (traverse 40-50 meters from the stone) a stone ridge goes into the water. Apparently this was done by a breakwater or a pier when they were clearing the bottom of the stones.

Image
Image

The official history assures us that this is an artificially made embankment for transporting stone to the place of loading it onto a ship (barge). As a builder, it immediately became clear to me that this was stupidity, it was impossible to lay any sleepers and rails along this stone ridge, unless one thought that after loading the stone, this embankment was dismantled back to its present state. To check all possible options, I walk along the embankment and measure the depths. They are stable everywhere - in the area of half a meter. Both to the right and to the left. And, most importantly, at the end of the embankment. There are no signs of a deepening (hole) and a fairway around the embankment at all. Not a centimeter. So do not beg to drown any barge at the end of this embankment from the word at all, there is simply nothing. By the way, the ridge itself is quite crooked.

Image
Image

And this is a photo from the end of the ridge. A stone is visible on the shore.

Image
Image

The ridge goes into the water for 200-210 meters. Somewhere in some scientific book I read that it is supposedly 800 meters. Lies. The navigator shows 220 meters, but this is already beyond the end of the ridge, at the place where the stone is supposed to be loaded onto the barge, where, in theory, there should be some kind of depression. After all, we are assured that the barge was flooded, a stone was rolled on it, then water was pumped out of the barge and the barge with the stone surfaced and set off on a journey.

Image
Image

But the echo sounder accurately determines that beyond the ridge there is not the slightest hint of any grooves. All the same standard 40-50 cm. And to be exact, then 47 cm. As well as hundreds of meters around.

Image
Image

We move away from the stone for 520 meters.

Image
Image

Depths of one meter start from this mark. Who does not understand, then the first half a kilometer from the coast is no more than 1 meter deep, and the first 350-400 meters are no more than 50-60 cm.

Image
Image

Go ahead. At a distance of 660 meters from the coast, the depths approach the 2-meter mark. To be precise, 192 centimeters.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Somewhere about 700 meters from the coast, a sharp drop in depth begins, and by 750-770 meters from the coast, depths of more than 3 meters begin.

Image
Image

At this point, I made a fairly massive measurement. Opposite the stone, then on the sides it went several hundred meters, everywhere it was stable. This is not an artificial deepening, but a natural one, apparently the border of the old coast. When the antediluvian Petersburg was being built, and instead of the Neva, the Tosna River still flowed. By the way, as a fisherman, I will say that this situation is typical for the entire Neva Bay up to and including Kronstadt, and personally I did not expect anything else. It's the same everywhere. First, it is shallow by 0.5-1.5 kilometers, then stable 3-3.5 meters, exactly like a table.

Image
Image

Somewhere from a kilometer distance from the coast, a slight rise of the bottom begins to marks 2.8-2.6 meters.

Image
Image
Image
Image

At a distance of 1.5 km from the coast, the average depth is 2, 3-2, 5 meters.

Image
Image
Image
Image

I also wandered around the water area, moved up to 1, 8 km from the coast - everything is stable everywhere. Depths in the region of 3 meters, somewhere a little deeper, somewhere a little shallower. I wound a lot there, wandered for almost 3 hours. The picture is typical and the same everywhere. I did not find any traces of the supposed fairway, any holes, old channels. In general, everything is approximately the same as on navigational depth maps. Here is a photo of the "Gazprom tower". Incidentally, the tallest building in Europe, 467 m.

Image
Image

I decided to shift the way back a little towards the city. There is a Lakhta shoal and I decided to check its dimensions and actual depths. Sharply shallow about a kilometer from the coast. One kilometer from the coast, the depth according to the echo sounder is 1.64 meters …

Image
Image
Image
Image

And after another floor, hundreds of meters are already only 38 cm.

Image
Image
Image
Image

And so on to the very shore - from 30 to 60 cm, no more.

What do we have at the end. And we have a clear evidence base for the complete absence of traces of both fragments of the Thunder stone itself, and possible ways of its delivery. If the Thunder stone was once delivered by someone to the center of the city, then it is absolutely certain that it was not from Lakhta and not along this route. Most likely, he has always been there, since the days when the antediluvian city existed. And everything else is just a beautiful fairy tale, legend.

In conclusion, a photo of the echo sounder. You can read more about it here.
