Why exactly from him? Well, if only because it has already happened in our recent past and we still observe its consequences, mistakenly attributing them to completely different events. Many minds are now trying to get to the bottom of the truth and explain to others, and to themselves, the traces of floods, found everywhere, traces of fires and huge craters, of which there are a great many on earth. No one can really say - where they came from and what events are a consequence of. But almost all of them agree on one thing. The totem pole around which all events took place was 1816 year.

So. Ragnarok.

Mythology says that chaos, bloody wars, strife and cultural decline were the harbingers of it. The very same Scandinavian end of the world begins with the arrival of Fimbulwinter (translated from Old Norse - "giant winter"). This is a fierce winter that will cover the whole of Midgard for three long years … According to the prophecy, on the day of Ragnarok, a monstrous wolf Fenrir will free himself from his bondage … He swallow the sun and grab a month, as a result of which, the world will plunge into darkness.

Now let's look at the same events, only in the real world.

I think that I should not pretend to be a historian and elucidate all the events of 1812-1816 for you. This is now being done by a huge number of people who are not indifferent to our real history. One thing we can be sure of. Wars, bloodshed, strife and chaos have engulfed almost all corners of Midgard-land. History textbooks rounded up everything that happened before the Patriotic War of 1812. But I am absolutely convinced that for quite a long time we will stumble upon facts that characterize our knowledge of that period, as, to put it mildly, not entirely correct.

And therefore, I will immediately move on to more specific events so that we make sure that the myths were talking about 1816 year.

Fenrir freed himself from his bonds on April 10, 1815. On the island of Sumbawa (Indonesia), the Tambora volcano began to erupt. Within a few hours, the island with an area of 15,448 km2 was completely covered with a layer of volcanic ash 1.5 meters thick. At least 100 km3 of ash was thrown into the Earth's atmosphere by the volcano. Tambor's activity led to a decrease in the average annual temperature. The ash rose to the upper atmosphere and began to reflect the sun's rays (swallowed the sun). The moon, of course, also disappeared from sight (grabbed a month).

Further events of those times went down in history as Three years without summer 1816-1818. The long volcanic winter of the 19th century … Fierce winters gave way to snowy springs and turned into snowy-cold "summer" months. It was three years without summer, three years without a crop, three years without hope.

In fairness, it should be mentioned that not only Fenrir (Tambora) was the culprit of such a change in climate. It all started back in 1812. Two volcanoes La Soufriere (Saint Vincent Island, Leeward Islands) and Awu (Sangir Island, Indonesia) woke up. The volcanic relay race was continued in 1813 by Suvanosejima (Tokara Island, Japan) and, in 1814, by Mayon (Luzon Island, Philippines). According to scientists, the activity of four volcanoes reduced the average annual temperature on the planet by 0.5-0.7 ° C and caused serious damage to the population. However, the final reason for the mini-version of the ice age of 1816-1818 was still Tambora.

However, high volcanic activity is not all. A star named the Sun added oil to the fire. The years of intense saturation of the Earth's atmosphere with volcanic ash coincided with the period of minimum solar activity (Dalton's minimum), which began around 1796 and ended in 1820. The lack of solar heat reduced the average annual temperature on the Earth's surface by another 1-1.5 ° C. Here is such an interesting "coincidence" …

And then, everything is even more interesting.

Due to the small amount of thermal energy, the waters of the seas and oceans cooled down by about 2 ° C, which completely changed the usual water cycle in nature, which led to the deflection of the warm ocean current Gulf Stream.

At the same time, cities in imperial Spain were burning. And these are just a couple of large fires, which they did not consider necessary to hide from us. In fact, there were a huge number of them all over Europe, America, Russia and many other places.

We will focus specifically on Russia, namely, on the forests of Russia. The modern forests of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine are no more than 200 years old. And this despite the fact that the oak lives one and a half thousand years, cedar - a thousand, spruce - six hundred, pine and larch - five hundred, linden - four hundred. Where are all these centuries-old giants? We see around only relatively young forests of which are no more than two hundred years old and quite "young".

There is a lot of data about the planting of forests in the middle of the 19th century in "verst squares" (see Fig.). Why were these global forest plantations needed? It must be assumed that the forests did not grow at all until the middle of the 19th century. Or were burned at the beginning of the century, and all - clean up!
