Video: What does Peppa Pig teach?

We are talking about systematic work to reduce the intellectual and moral level of children.
The British animated series Peppa Pig has been translated into 40 languages and is broadcast in more than 180 countries, including Russia, on the state-owned Carousel channel. At the moment, about 280 five-minute episodes have already been released, each of which tells about the life of a family of pigs. Main characters: Peppa Pig, her younger brother George, mother Pig and father Pig. Let's start our acquaintance with the cartoon from the very first series, which is called "Puddles".
In this episode, Peppa goes for a walk and starts jumping through puddles. Her mother is a pig, instead of explaining to the child that it is not good to climb into the mud, she recommends simply putting on rubber boots, after which her younger brother also joins Peppa. This short story ends with the whole family jumping through puddles and laughing merrily. It all looks something like this …
The main message of the cartoon: "Let's not be ashamed of dirt!"
Of course, someone might say that it is just a cartoon about pigs, and therefore it is absolutely normal to demonstrate how they bathe in the mud. But the cartoon characters are endowed with human qualities and symbolize people: they wear clothes, go to work, drive cars and so on. Therefore, for children, especially small children, who, due to their age, do not distinguish between cartoon and reality and imitate their favorite characters, the demonstration of such behavior patterns is frankly harmful.
For comparison, remember the lines of Mayakovsky "This one got into the mud and is glad that the shirt is dirty …" - this behavior was assessed as unequivocally bad. Or the Soviet cartoon about the piglet Chunya, who really did not like that he was attributed to slovenliness. The heroes of the cartoon Peppa Pig jump through puddles and reach for the mud throughout the series. Check out, for example, the episode from season 4 called "Spirits." In it, Peppa is trying to make perfume out of flowers, but this scent seems disgusting to everyone. When her younger brother simply scoops mud from a puddle, the heroes feel wild delight at the smell they get. Such frankly absurd plots underlie most of the cartoon episodes. However, this is not all. Despite the fact that one episode lasts only 5 minutes, during this time the young viewer must be shown 10-15 episodes with laughter, in most cases absolutely stupid and inappropriate. That is, laughter sounds every 20-30 seconds of airtime.
It is literally about the programming of consciousness. It is thanks to such cartoons that today more and more children are found who every few minutes without any reason begin to laugh hysterically, behave very noisy and unrestrained. They adopt models of behavior from the heroes of modern cartoons.
Separately, it is worth dwelling on how the image of the father is discredited in the cartoon. Daddy Pig is shown to be an eternally awkward and stupid loser. He regularly falls, gets stuck, behaves absurdly and becomes the object of ridicule. In many episodes, Peppa calls her dad stupid and reproaches him for being overweight. Other characters only encourage such a disrespectful attitude towards the father. The cartoon can be called very tolerant, since children are allowed to do everything: to indulge, spoil things, call adults names, use their parents' makeup, stay up late, and so on. Adults do not read lectures, do not make comments, and in most cases they only indulge in self-indulgence and behave like big children themselves. That is why every second episode ends with all the characters falling to the floor in unison, waving their arms and legs and laughing. In addition to all of the above, the primitiveness of the vocabulary, the illogicality of many plots and the external unaestheticness of the cartoon characters are striking, by the appearance of which it is often even difficult to understand what kind of animal they are.
To summarize: Peppa Pig's cartoon targets:
- Formation of negative behaviors
- Discrediting the image of the father
- Raising spoiled and uncivilized children
- Programming for constant "stupid" laughter
- Instilling "bad taste" in children
Many parents in their reviews of this cartoon express bewilderment why such harmful and absurd content is broadcast in many countries, advertised, and awarded with prizes. In fact, we are talking about systematic work to reduce the intellectual and moral level of the population. Obviously, the greatest effect can be achieved when working with young children, whose consciousness is most influenced. We urge you to show children Soviet cartoons and get involved in the work to revive morality in the media. Bolder, comrade, glasnost is our strength!
