Video: What Does the Bible Teach?
2024 Author: Seth Attwood | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-16 15:55
The main book and indisputable authority for Christians is the Bible. Why do they treat the most replicated book in the world (over 20 billion copies!) As with a license agreement: they agree without reading it? What Believers Don't Want to Know?
What moral and moral values, as well as skills, knowledge, customs and traditions does this book pass from generation to generation?
Morality and morality
"Great, wise and righteous" according to the Bible, patriarchs, prophets and kings are thieves, deceivers and murderers. But these are the characters who, according to biblical logic, are role models for all Christians. Here are just a few examples of their criminal activities:
- Moses, called in the Bible "the meekest", ordered to destroy about 3000his fellow tribesmen: “And Moses stood at the gate of the camp and said, who is the Lord, come to me! And all the sons of Levi gathered to him. And he said to them: Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Place each one of his sword on his thigh, go through the camp from gate to gate and back, and killeach brotherhis own, each friendhis own, each nearhis own. And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and on that day about three thousand people fell out of the people”(Ex. 32: 26-28).
- Noah drank hard, lay naked in the tent and cursed his grandchildren because their father - his son (!) Saw him in this form.
- Abraham - “the great forefather” - rented out his wife to Pharaoh for “flocks and large cattle and slaves and female servants and mules and camels”, in other words, acted as a pimp for his own wife.
- His son Isaac did the same.
- His nephew Lot's own daughters raped a drunken father.
- Abraham's grandson, Jacob, deceived his father and tricked his father for the birthright from his brother, and also actually stole the cattle from his father-in-law.
- Jacob's wife robbed her own father by stealing family idols.
- King David, chanted in every way, not only did not disdain girls or boys, but also was the inventor of such phenomena as racket and holocaust.
- David's son - Amnon - raped his sister (from another mother) and abandoned her.
- David himself recaptured his wife from the officer-hero of the war, and sent him to his death.
- Another son of David - Absalom - wanted power and wove a conspiracy against his own father, from whom he learned all this.
- Bible prophets killed people. Elijah personally (!) Stabbed 450 priests of another cult - Baal, and Elisha did it with the word of God: for a mockery of his bald head he cursed 42 children, and they were torn apart by a bear.
Now it is customary to justify all this dismemberment and abomination as follows:
1. Such were the times, all around cruelty, savagery, lack of civilization.
2. The dashing righteous before Moses did not yet know the criminal code of those times - the 10 commandments that Jehovah passed on to him.
Both of these philistine arguments are shattered by simple facts:
1. Long before the 10 commandments, there were other civilizations with much more perfect laws and high moral and ethical standards: the codes of Ur-Namu, Eshnunna and Hamurappi - they are even recognized by orthodox historical science with its false chronology.
2. After the appearance of the 10 commandments, the biblical heroes continued to behave in the same way - like a gang of thugs. For example, such biblical characters as David, Solomon, Elijah and Mordechai (the latter staged an armed coup in Persia, as a result of which 75 000 Persians were slaughtered in 3 days) appeared much later than Moses and, logically, must were to behave within the framework of the Old Testament legal field, that is, to strictly follow the Mosaic commandments. For their violation, punishment was imposed - stoning, i.e. death, including for violation of the sixth commandment "Thou shalt not kill!"
Although, the commandment, of course, is purely conditional, because the bloodthirsty god subsequently adds that it is possible and necessary to kill:
If your brother, your mother's son, or your wife is in your bosom, or your friend, who is like your soul to you, will secretly persuade you, saying: “Let us go and serve other gods, whom you and your fathers did not know” … Then do not agree with him and do not listen to him; and may your eyes not spare him, do not pity him and do not cover him; but kill him; your hand first of all must be on him in order to kill him, and then the hands of all the people … (Deut. 3: 6-8)
However, believers are no stranger to justifying the cannibalistic facts of the biographies of the heroes of the biblical thriller. Abraham, who resignedly obeyed the demand of the "All-loving God" and, without flinching, raised his hand with a knife over the body of his only and long-awaited son - causes them only respect and delight. I wonder if they would have raised a knife over their children if God had asked them to do so? And what would they then say to the investigator about Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Attempted Murder"?
The same Abraham, the “Great Forefather,” without hesitation, drove the servant Hagar, pregnant with his child, into the wilderness to certain death.
By the way, not everyone was so lucky as the son of Abraham, another biblical righteous man, Jephthah did burn his daughter, promising to set Jehovah on fire the first thing that comes out to meet him from his gate:
And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord and said: If Thou will deliver the Ammonites into my hands, then when I return in peace from the Ammonites, whatever comes out of the gate of my house to meet me, it will be to the Lord, and I will offer this up for a burnt offering … And Jephthah came to Massifa into the house his own, and behold, his daughter comes out to meet him …
The described characters are role models, a beacon for all God-fearing Christians. According to this logic, a real Christian is one who can go to church services, hold a candle, ask Yahweh to defeat opponents and in return make a vow that he will burn the first thing that meets him at the door of the apartment - a cat, wife or his child …

If most of the inhabitants of our country were aware of these facts from the "main book on Earth", then hardly anyone would be surprised by Chaplin's recent statement:
Some statistics: Indicative is the fact that in the Russian-language Old Testament, printed in close-fitting text on 1000 pages, the word "honor" occurs only 19 times, and even then, mainly in expressions such as "to show honor", "in honor of someone ". In the sense of "human dignity", it is found only 1 time, like the word " conscience ».
There is not a single mention of the Slavs and the Russian people in the Bible, and the Jews and Israel are mentioned 8357 times. The question arises, what does the collection of Jewish myths have to do with the Russian people?
Skills and Abilities: How to Do Business Scripturally
Practical knowledge and skills, which people use in their life and which are passed down from generation to generation, is also part of the cultural tradition.
The Bible tells in detail the life story of entire generations, the so-called "forefathers" - those who are considered the forefathers of modern Jews.
In other words, it describes how they got their daily bread, what they did in order to get settled in life, let's say, more comfortable. And again, the Bible is unpleasantly striking: there is absolutely there is noeven a hint to inspire a person to creative work.
Steal, deceive, take away - these are the methods described in ordinary language, as a matter of course, are offered in the Bible to get "bread and butter and caviar." Such practical knowledge and skills are described in the Bible:
- If you want to buy camels, mules and donkeys, give up your wife for a couple of nights to Pharaoh.
- I wanted to get a neighboring vineyard, but the owner refuses to give it up for nothing - hire two false witnesses who would say that the owner blasphemed God and the king. The owner of the vineyard will be stoned to death. As a sign of sorrow, strip your clothes, put on sackcloth and … take possession of property (1 Kings 21: 1-16).
- You leave on a long journey and know that you will never return - ask your neighbors for a loan of valuable things for a while. “And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses, and they asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and articles of gold and clothing. But the Lord gave mercy to His people in the eyes of the Egyptians; and they gave him, and robbed he is the Egyptians”(Ex. 12: 35-36).
- You are in power and have exclusive information - do not be shy, speculate, rob people and turn free people into slaves, as Joseph, the son of Jacob did in Egypt.
- Why work, cultivate the land, create wealth - go and offer a “roof” for “protection”, as David did (1 Samuel 25), or simply take it away, especially since God himself condones it. “And I gave you the land over which you did not workand the cities you did not buildand you live in them; from the vineyards and oilseeds that you not planted, you eat the fruit "(Book of Joshua, 24:13.).
- If a woman is without a husband, she needs to find a wealthy man and “… Wash, anoint yourself, put on your smart clothes and go to the threshing floor, but do not show yourself to him until you have finished eating and drinking. When he goes to bed, find out the place where he lies. Then you will come and open it at his feet, and lie down; he will tell you what to do …”(Ruth 3: 1-4).
- If you want to rule the country - do not aspire to the throne, but stay close to the autocrat - become his cupbearer (Nehemiah), become an interpreter of his dreams, (Joseph and Daniel) or the keeper of the ring, steward, or treasurer (Tobit), do everything to make yours his sister became his wife (Esther).
- If you want to gain power and keep it - learn from King David. Use deception, betrayal, murder, find strong allies, conclude a cooperation agreement with them, and then eliminate them (like Abner and Amessai). It is also advisable to get rid of everyone who can claim your place in the future (hanging the 7 grandchildren of the previous king Saul), or keep them under control (another grandson of King Saul, lame and weak Mephibosheth).
That's all knowledge and skills. Reason for lack of examples creative work very simple - from the very beginning of the “chosenness”, Jehovah “gave” everything to the people of Israel, naturally, first “taking” it from those who worked and created it with their hump. Now such actions are qualified as parasitism.
In fairness, it should be noted that the city of Jerusalem (which, again, they did not build themselves, but took away from the Jebusite people) and their temple, they rebuilt after the destruction, but at the same time, they did not earn money for the construction themselves, but using all sorts of intrigues, pulled from the Persians.
The Holy Book offers one more “ skill - the ability to destroy entire nations. Now it is called genocide … By direct order of God, the Jews completely destroy 10 peoples in order to settle on their land. This is done according to the same scenario:
“… And they took him and struck him with the sword, and his king, and all his cities, and all that breathes that was in him; left no one to survive …”(Josh. 10:37).
So that no one escapes! Sometimes, however, someone was left alive:
… so kill all male children, and all women who know a husband on a male bed, kill; but all the female children who have not known the male bed, keep alive for yourself …”(Lev. 31: 17-18).
Children, girls - for yourself! Let me remind you that I am not quoting any bloody thriller any sexual pervert, a holy book of christians – The bible!
Here is another example of this "skill".
When the Jews “left” Egypt, they tried to destroy everything that was possible: all the cattle and all crops were destroyed, all the water was spoiled, the Egyptians themselves were infected with skin diseases, all their first-borns were massacred, and a huge amount of gold and silver was taken out. All this was carried out under the direction and with the direct participation of Jehovah God.
A holocaust, which means death by burning, it turns out, was not invented in the twentieth century. Another "great" king David successfully used him in his godly deeds:
“And the people who were in it, he brought out and put them under the saws, under the iron threshers, under the iron axes, and threw them in kilns … So he did to all the cities of the Ammonites”(2 Samuel 12:31).
Knowledge stored for centuries
No noteworthy knowledge in the Bible, too - neither historical, nor astronomical, nor geographical. Nothing to actually validate her status as a Book of Books.
Moreover, it unpleasantly strikes with its primitivism in this regard: primitive cosmogonic representation, poor ethical standards, which all biblical heroes constantly violated, and numerous banal "wisdom" in the Proverbs of Solomon advertised to the whole world.
Ecstatic followers of Christianity ascribe to the Bible some "knowledge" in the field of medicine. Such a statement cannot even be called an exaggeration. Alas. There is no medical knowledge there, even approximate.
True, the Bible describes in detail how the Levites (a caste of Jewish priests), who had unlimited power over all aspects of the life of ordinary Jews, from spiritual to physiological, should have “diagnosed” leprosy, lichen and other skin diseases.
There are also recommendations on how to deal with such people, namely, to expel them from the camp and wait until it passes by itself, but no method of healing the disease, except for sacrifice, is indicated.
“The priest will go out of the camp, and if the priest sees that the leper has been healed of the disease of leper, then the priest will order to take for the purified two birds of the living clean, a cedar tree, a scarlet thread and a hyssop, And the priest will order one bird to be slaughtered over an earthen vessel, over living water; And he himself will take a living bird, a cedar tree, a scarlet thread and a hyssop, and wash them and a living bird in the blood of a bird slaughtered over living water, And sprinkle on the one who is cleansed of leprosy seven times, and declare him clean, and let the living bird into the field (Lev. 14: 3-4).
That's all the "treatment", very reminiscent of the rite of black magic Voodoo.
True, the Bible contains very detailed information, which is repeated word for word 2-3 times and which, with great stretch, can be attributed to knowledge in the area of construction of special facilities.
It concerns the construction of the so-called ark of the covenant (the chest where the tablets with the ten commandments were supposedly kept), the tabernacle (the tent where this chest was to be kept), the Jerusalem temple and its equipment. How important such information is for our human civilization, judge for yourself, I will only note that the description of the construction of Noah's ark (which supposedly saved all of humanity, as well as the entire animal kingdom of the planet) takes up much less space in the Bible.
There is no Bible and no historical knowledge … The degree of its historical reliability is close to zero. There is not a single name of the Egyptian pharaoh, but the names of prostitutes (not all) are carefully preserved; non-existent kings (Median king Arfaxad) and geographical names (Bethulia) appear.
The Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar turns out to be the Assyrian king. The route of Holofernes' military campaign, described in great detail in the book of Judith, makes no more sense than "the conquest of St. Petersburg on the way to Greece with the aim of capturing Austria."
Babylon, instead of one Persian king - Cyrus, in the Bible was captured by another Persian king - Darius, and Alexander the Great, being dying, divided his empire "between childhood friends" unions.
It is simply impossible to list all the bloopers and absurdities - there are a lot of them. After reading the Bible, a strong impression is created that the history of all other peoples serves only as a background for the history of the Jews, and, moreover, the content of this “background” was deliberately distorted, and sometimes turned into simply absurdity.
Numerous military "victories" are a separate item Jews, described in the most "truthful and sacred" book on earth, which are very reminiscent of the boasting of fishermen or hunters who caught such a pike or killed such a bear.
But these are not hunting tales - this is, as we were told, the most truthful and holy book on earth! Here are some examples (be careful not to laugh too hard):
- The incredible victory of the Israelites under the leadership of Judge Gideon over the Midianites: 300 against 120 000!!! (Judges).
- 7 000 the Israelis were amazed 100 000 Syrians, and those who fled were crushed by a wall … all 27 000 (1 Kings).
- On the 170 000 a man of the Assyrian infantry and 12 000 the horsemen "were attacked by fear and trembling" and they fled when they learned about the death of their commander, who, by the way, was killed by a woman - she cut off her head with two brave blows (Book of Judith).
- 3 000 the poorly armed and half-starved supporters of the Maccabean brothers defeat the Roman regular army in 40 000 infantry and 7 000 cavalry. Next year 10 000 Maccabean supporters put to flight 60 000 infantry and 5 000 cavalry …

A treasure trove of images and a wealth of language
One of the main components of the culture of a people is its language.… The richer the language, the higher the culture of the people.
Consider now what language the Bible speaks to its readers. I mean the richness of the language.
All over the world they trumpet the "pearls of Hebrew lyricism" contained in the Bible. This applies to the following biblical books: Psalms, Proverbs of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs and Book of Wisdom of Solomon.
Psalter- a book with texts for worship, consisting of psalms. A psalm is a song of praise, a chant, in our opinion, a prayer.
There, naturally, the God of Israel, the God of Zion is praised, which, in general, is not surprising - the Bible tells exclusively about the history of the Jews and their relationship with their God, the God who chose them (and only them) for world domination, and the rest of the nations assigned them to serve.
However, it is also a liturgical book for “Orthodox” Christians who also glorify and pray to the God of Israel, the God of Zion, thereby agreeing to be in the service of the “chosen ones” and repeat after them those curses that are contained in huge numbers in this liturgical book, for example, such:
“Trample them in anger, trample them so that they are not; and let them know that God has dominion over Jacob to the ends of the earth. Let them return in the evening, howl like dogs, and walk around the city; let them wander to find food, and those who are not fed spend the nights”(Ps. 58: 14-16).
Or such:
“Daughter of Babylon, devastator! blessed is he who will reward you for what you have done to us! Blessed who will take and smash your babies on a stone! ”(Ps. 136: 8).
Despite such creepy images (which are an indicator of the mentality of the native speaker, that is, the level of culture of the people), the apologists of Christianity insist on "the intellectual and psychological depth of the psalms, the refinement of forms, the richness of the imagery", etc., and suggest we regard them as "a monument to the literature of wisdom."
Let us and we look at this depth and wisdom.
- "And they look and make a spectacle of me";
- “I will break all the horns of the wicked, and the horns of the righteous will be lifted up”;
- "Guard the doors of my mouth";
- "Our bones are poured in the jaws of the underworld";
- "Wounds stink, fester from my madness";
- “When I was silent, my bones decayed from my daily groaning”;
The question arises: Where is the "sophistication and richness of the imagery" here? Are bones, festering wounds and horns a wealth of images?
Probably, you need to have a special mindset and conscience in order to attribute "intellectual and psychological depth" to what an ordinary normal person would call an intellectual and psychological perversion.
Do not lag behind the Psalms and the rest of the copies of "pearls of Hebrew lyrics." Not only is there no sophistication and richness of linguistic means, but the thoughts that are expressed using the biblical language are primitive and miserable to the point of impossibility, and sometimes simply incomprehensible due to obvious stupidity.
I will give just a few of the many examples:
- “He who blinks his eyes causes vexation, but a fool with his lips stumbles” (Prov. 10:10).
- “Get away from the foolish man, whose lips you do not notice” (Proverbs 14: 7).
- "A wicked man, a wicked man walks with lying lips, blinks his eyes, speaks with his feet, gives signs with his fingers" (Proverbs 6: 12-13).
- “Such is the way of an adulterous woman; She ate and wiped her mouth, and said, “I have done nothing wrong””(Proverbs 30:20).
- “You have found honey - eat as much as you need, so as not to get fed up and not vomit it up” (Proverbs 25:16).
- “As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness” (Proverbs 26:11)
- “He who digs a hole will fall into it, and he who breaks down the fence will be bitten by a serpent” (Eccl. 10: 8).
- “The work of a fool wears him, because he does not even know the way to the city” (Eccl. 10:15).
- “Send your bread in the waters, for after many days you will find it again” (Eccl. 11: 1).
I could not resist citing one of my favorite pearls, testifying to the noble "wealth" of the language of biblical texts:
“And I said: trouble for me, trouble for me! alas for me! villains are villainous, and villains are villainous. (Isa. 24:16)
In conclusion of the topic of language, I would like to draw your attention to the culture of communication between biblical characters. For example, here is how one representative of the royal family addresses another representative of the royal family:
“And [Mephibosheth] bowed down and said, What is thy servant, that thou hast looked upon such a dead dog as me?”(2 Kings 9: 8).
Can you imagine the level of development of these royal persons? Even if they (the flower of the Jewish nation) call themselves despicable slaves and dead dogs, then … who are they, how do their ordinary people call themselves and communicate with each other?
Customs and holidays
An important element of the cultural tradition of the people is its customs … What customs, ceremonies and holidays are described in the Bible and are charged with the responsibility of believers?
Rite of circumcision … Even if "Orthodox" Christians do not use it, it is obligatory for other believers, the so-called Abrahamic religions. All the "beauty" of this inhuman rite was described in detail by Yakov Brafman in the "Book of the Kagala".
Animal sacrifice rites … For example, in the book Leviticus, the first 9 chapters are devoted to a detailed description of the process of bringing each type of sacrifice (peace sacrifice, sin sacrifice, service sacrifice, etc.), each type of animal (dove, lambs, calves, etc.).
It describes in detail what to do with the victim's blood, where to pour it, spread and spray it, from which organs to cut off fat (fat) and what to do with it, how to deal with the animal's skin and its meat, as well as the head, entrails and legs of the killed animal.
The Bible describes, at least unambiguously, several facts of human sacrifice … First, the most famous - Abraham agreed to sacrifice his son Isaac to Jehovah God, namely, to burn him.
Without any objections and indignation, which gives reason to think that such things were commonplace with them. As everyone remembers, the matter ended well, and a ram was sacrificed, so inappropriately entangled nearby by horns in the bushes.
In the second case sacrifice was made … Judge Jephthah made a vow to God that if he defeated the Ammonites, he would burn the first person he met on the altar. His own daughter turned out to be the first one he met. The judge fulfilled the vowgiven to God.(Judges).
Captives were also sacrificed (Book of Numbers 31: 32-40):
“And there was the booty left over from what was captured, that those who were in the war seized: six hundred seventy-five thousand flocks … Sixteen thousand people, and tribute from them to the Lord thirty-two souls."
Among the few holidays that Jehovah "bestowed" on his chosen people (the feast of the first sheaf, the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, the day of remembrance, the day of repentance or the Day of Judgment, the feast of huts), there are two that deserve special attention.
Passover - a holiday on which the Jews make a sacrifice to their god in gratitude for the fact that he left them alive, and the Egyptians - killed.
“And when your children say to you: what is this ministry? say: this is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed by the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, and delivered our houses”(Ex. 12: 26-27).
Purim … On this day, the Jews celebrate the coup d'état in Persia, successfully organized by them, when they managed to destroy 75 000 the Persians, and, above all, all the Persian "strong", that is, the Persian nobility, the real aristocracy, starting with the Prime Minister of Amman and his 10 sons. The Bible describes that they were hanged twice.
In memory of this vile bloody massacre, this genocide, this holiday appeared, during which the Jews symbolically repeat the Persian massacre every year, get drunk to the point of feeling insensible, and give the poor cakes, "lovingly" called "Haman's ears".
And these holidays are part of Christian cultural tradition, because they are carefully described in the main book of Christians.
* * *
This is how “Orthodox” Christians have a cultural tradition. Briefly summarizing everything that the Bible gives us in this regard, we can state with great regret that there is no question of any cultural tradition in it at all.
As great people - role models for many centuries, there are deceivers, the thieves, rapists and the killers … Not a single normal character is there!
As high moral and moral principles, authoritatively proclaimed in the holy book of Christians, are indicated cunning, deceit, perjury, slander, betrayal, embezzlement, corruption, animal malice, cruelty, racial intolerance etc.
As knowledge and skills – ignorance, parasitism, frank lies, cunning, unscrupulousness, meanness …
As customs and traditions - disgusting rituals of animal sacrifices, reminiscent of butchering meat carcasses at a meat processing plant, and holidays glorifying bloody crimes against entire nations …
