The Union has perfectly calculated the upcoming transport problems of metropolitan cities. These problems were addressed by the latest innovative, test-driven magnetic suspension vehicle project.

TP-05 car is the first car in the USSR with an electromagnetic suspension with a linear electric drive, built at MIC (VNIIPItransprogress test site, Ramenskoye) in the period from 1985 to 1986. The first successful launch (suspension) was carried out on February 25, 1986.

“Our laboratory is working on an experimental passenger carriage that will move without touching the rails. For horizontal movement, the principle of operation of a linear three-phase asynchronous motor is used. Moving at a cruising speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour, this vehicle will be virtually silent. Its path can be raised to a flyover over the main thoroughfares of the city. One kilometer of track will cost 3-5 times cheaper than the metro,”said A. Chemodurov, head of the VNIIPItransprogress laboratory in one of his interviews.

At that time, a 600-meter high-speed section was built in Ramenskoye near Moscow, and sections in Yerevan and Alma-Ata were planned.

It was planned to run cars on the tracks for 65 people, each 19 meters long and weighing 40 tons. The cruising speed of the car was 250 km / h, with the prospect of 400 km / h and more. There were also plans to launch not separate cars, but couplings from several cars, that is, full-fledged trains.

What is especially surprising, but the project was financed exclusively by NefteGazStroy. Unfortunately, the plans did not come true, the earthquake in Armenia in 1988 did not allow the construction of all the planned sections. Funding was reduced, and after the collapse of the USSR, it was completely stopped. Fast, high-speed and its own turned out to be useless.

The project was very promising, its implementation in cities and as a replacement for metro cars and as a transport that would move along dedicated overpasses on the surface.

By the way, nothing prevented the state from reviving this idea. This transport is ideal for both urban and intercity communications. This is a truly environmentally friendly, quiet, modern and high-speed mode of transport.

In 1992, the Research and Development Institute of the General Plan of Moscow developed projects for two lines. The first route - Sheremetyevo airport - Tushinsky sports airfield - recreation area "Serebryany Bor" - children's park (at that time the project) - Government House on Krasnaya Presnya. The second route was to connect the Chertanovo, Yasenevo and Butovo areas. According to the project, the size of the overpass was supposed to be 5-6 meters. The average technical speed on the first route should have been 100 km / h, on the second - 40. Thus, the design speed should have been somewhere under 200 km / h.

By the way, at present there is a really functioning magnetic road. It operates in China and connects Shanghai with the airport. Maglev develops a speed of 550 km / h. If everything had turned out differently, we would have driven our own maglev to Sheremetyevo.
