Popov first demonstrated the effect of radio transmission in 1895, but, as is often the case with us, he did not bother to obtain a patent.
But in 1897 the Italian Guglielmo Marconi received a patent for "wireless telegraphy", and in 1909 - the Nobel Prize for this invention.
Locomotive … In 1763, Ivan Polzunov designed the first two-cylinder vacuum machine in Russia, or, in other words, a steam locomotive.
Already in 1764, the technique was tested in Barnaul, and among others, James Watt, the famous Scottish engineer-inventor, was present at these tests.
He highly appreciated the idea of Polzunov. And then in London in April 1784 he received a patent for a steam engine with a universal engine.
It is James Watt who is considered the inventor of the steam locomotive all over the world.
A bike … Incredibly, the "all-metal pedal scooter" was first built at the Nizhniy Tagil plant in 1801 by the serf inventor Efim Artamonov.
The invention was later called a "bicycle", but no patent registration was taken care of.
The patent for the invention of the bicycle was issued in 1818 to the German Baron Karl Drais.
Electric car … The end of the 19th century can be safely called the time of the electric boom. Almost everyone did electric cars.
One such enthusiast was the engineer Ippolit Romanov, who by 1899 had created several models of electric cabs.
Romanov embodied an electric omnibus for 17 passengers in metal, developed a scheme of city routes for these progenitors of modern trolleybuses, and even received a work permit.
The inventor could not find the amount necessary for the implementation of the project.

Periodic table … Surprisingly, the authorship of the periodic table of elements is also one of the most controversial in the scientific world: in many German textbooks, Dmitry Mendeleev is named only as Meyer's successor.
But the German scientist operated only with the "octet rule", according to which the properties of every eighth element are similar to the properties of the first. Then, as a rule, this turned out to be true only for the beginning of the periodic table.
Mendeleev discovered a fundamental law that allowed him to predict the properties of still unknown elements and boldly change the atomic masses of many already discovered.
New generation wheelchair … Already in our time, the Russian inventor Vladimir Lokseev has created a wheelchair on which you can go down and up the stairs.
It was not possible to promote mass production of such a necessary thing for the disabled in Russia.

“It was a real technical breakthrough. I had no money to implement the idea in our country. And I started looking for sponsors abroad. But they just brushed me off. Some wrote that they were not interested in cooperation, others did not answer at all … “- recalls the scientist.
And in 1997, the first computers with the invention of Dorokhin were released in the West. The author contacted foreign executives, claiming his patent rights, and offered to conclude an agreement with him. The manufacturers promised to think it over.
The scientist's correctness is confirmed by the Federal Agency for Legal Protection of the Results of Military, Special and Dual-Purpose Intellectual Activity (FAPRID) under the Ministry of Justice. FAPRID's lawyers have already filed lawsuits against the largest computer companies demanding to stop copyright infringement.

High quality gasoline … Another emigrant, Vladimir Ipatiev, developed ultra-efficient catalysts in the United States for producing high-octane gasoline.
There is a point of view that it was Ipatiev who won the "Battle of England" in World War II, since British and American fighters flew on such gasoline much faster than German ones, and without changing the engine design
Lasers. The new technology was developed in the 1950s by two Russian scientists, Alexander Prokhorov and Nikolai Basov, who received the Nobel Prize for them.
Another American, Charles Townes, also received an award for these developments, and it was he who immediately received a patent for his invention, and then sold the rights to it to manufacturers, since he realized that he had a gold mine in his hands.
