According to studies carried out by specialists from the University of California at Berkeley, 4,000 human lives every day - such is the monstrous "tribute" that the Celestial Empire is forced to pay for its places in world economic rankings and the pace of industrialization taken.

The severity of the problem forces us to seek and find new solutions, using both familiar and proven and innovative air purification technologies. In Europe, this figure is much lower. The situation in Russia also looks disappointing, where residents of more than half of the country's cities experience a shortage of clean air.

The project of the Dutch engineer and designer Daan Roosegaarde, dedicated to the creation of a unique air purification tower of its kind, started 3 years ago on the Kickstarter site, where it managed to raise 113,000 euros. The working model, after repeated modifications and tests, was created in Rotterdam in the fall of 2015, at the same time, taking into account the orientation towards the Chinese market and the need for a number of approvals with the Ministry of the Environment of China and related institutions, the transition to the final practical stage of implementing the idea was delayed for another year … Now that all the necessary points have been agreed upon, Daan Rosegaard's project can finally be realized. The first air purification towers on the streets of Chinese cities, according to the designer, can be seen this fall. Publications informing readers about this news almost immediately appeared on the pages of China Daily, CNN, Creators Project.

Residents of developed Western countries, whose everyday life is far from the problems associated with the downside of industrialization, are sincerely amazed to see the landscapes of endless dumps of man-made waste, which have become the poorest regions of the planet. But even they often do not realize how serious the ecological situation is literally outside the window, “at arm's length,” and how significant the danger posed by the air dump is.

In September 2016, the production of the Smog Free Tower, designed by venerable Danish designer Daan Roosegaarde, is expected to finally be launched. The authorities of the Celestial Empire not only fully approved the venture, but are also going to extract commercial benefit from it - by selling to tourists the original decorated decorations made in the towers from the absorbed smog.

The Smog Free Tower is an 8 meter urban tower filtering 30,000 cubic meters of water. m of air per hour in real time, pumping it through its structure. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Daan Rosegaard's tower is a climatic setting of the scale of a modern metropolis, which is able to radically affect the atmosphere of cities in several ways.

The system, designed by a Dutch engineer, consumes only 1.4 kW of energy, which it generates itself. The final product from Smog Free Tower is purified air + jewelry.

The first four towers are planned to be installed in city parks in Beijing and other major cities. If the test samples demonstrate the expected efficiency during the heating season, when soot emissions into the atmosphere are maximum, the project will be launched at the national level. And this is hundreds of thousands of air purifiers in a matter of months across the country.

One of the advantages of the Smog Free Tower is its simplicity of manufacture, while an enterprising engineer put another opportunity into the project, allowing us to speak of its partial self-sufficiency. Every cubic meter of smog devoured by the tower is used to produce unpretentious jewelry - excellent souvenirs for the mass of visiting tourists.

The giant cleaner works on the principle of an "electrostatic vacuum cleaner". The space at the top of the tower is saturated with positively charged ions, which "precipitate" dust particles. Further, being carried away by the air flow forced by the fan, they come into contact with the filter in the form of a negatively charged surface, where they are deposited. Of course, we are not talking about large flakes, but about an ultrafine suspension, the most carcinogenic and dangerous component of smog.

Then the collected dust is compacted to a solid state, after which it is packed in an airtight transparent plastic sheath. This tiny container contains 99% carbon - the main constituent of natural diamonds. The carbon crystal of the correct geometric shape in each such ring, made in a futuristic style, will be produced from soot collected from 1000 cubic meters. m. of air.

The Celestial Empire is not the only place on the planet where Daan Rosegaard intends to launch his Smog Free Tower project. In the foreseeable future, residents of the densely populated Mexico City, languishing from the influx of migrants from Paris and the "city of contrasts" Los Angeles, can also see the towers.
