The British Library has a French translation of the Historia de proelis (Le Livre et le vraye hystoire du Bon Roy Alixandre) from 1420, written in France. In it we can see excellent illustrations of the exploits of Alexander the Great. Alexander met a great many different monsters, here and three-horned and dragons, strange elephants, snowmen covered with wool, Amazons, forest people, cyclops, one-eyed people without a head, giants and many other creatures, which Macedonian considered monsters and without hesitation exterminated everyone.
