Andrey Zhukov. Scientists against myths. Collection of Voldemar Dzhulsrud. Part 1. Facts versus myths.

Andrey Zhukov: "On June 5, 2016, a forum" Scientists against myths "was held in Moscow. About a dozen reports were presented, mainly related to myths in historical science. I am usually not interested in the fight against pseudoscience. which, to be honest, touched me. Therefore, I considered it necessary to make a counter report on the topic that I have been dealing with for more than one year and which has touched me.

We are talking about a specific report by Dmitry Belyaev "Myths of Pre-Columbian America". Dmitry is a candidate of historical sciences, deputy director of the Mesoamerican Center named after Yu. V. Knorozov Russian State University for the Humanities and deals with the problems of Mayan culture.

In his report, he touched upon both Mexican and Peruvian civilizations. When he spoke about the predictions of the ancient Mayans about the 2012 apocalypse or, allegedly, about the image of an astronaut on the sarcophagus in Palenque, of course, these are delusional myths from the yellow press. But other so-called pseudoscientific myths, be it the phenomenon of the Nazca desert, the engraved stones of Ica, or the collection of Giulsruda in the city of Acambara in Mexico - this, in my opinion, is somewhat from a different story …

And today I would like to dwell on one myth. The myth of the collection of sculptures from the collection of Voldemar Giulsruda, the city of Acambara, central Mexico …"
