From 27 to 31 July 2016 in the Kimrsky district, Tver region, near the village of Toporok, the festival of historical reconstruction "Epic Coast" will be held dedicated to the culture, traditions of everyday life and military customs of the Rus, Slavs, Varangians, Finno-Ugric peoples, Turks who lived in the times of Ancient Rus 9-11 centuries.
Those days have gone far and many know little about them, about how our ancestors lived, how they worked, fought, getting the right to live on their land. We propose to shake off the dust from the undeservedly forgotten pages of our native history and plunge into the life of Ancient Russia thanks to the festival of historical reconstruction "Epic Coast".
At the festival, a real military field camp of 100 historical tents and tents will be deployed, in which you can see the ancient Russian life of the times of Svyatoslav and Vladimir. Every object of everyday life and everyday life of the camp is carefully recreated according to the scriptures of the 9-11 centuries. At the festival, any object, event or action is available for study, which helps to recreate the picture of the life of our ancestors.
The festival program will include:
paired duels and massive combat battles of Slavic and Varangian squads, theatrical performances, a fair of medieval goods, master classes in early medieval crafts, a shooting gallery, a costume and weapons competition, performances by ethnographic groups and musical groups, an equestrian show, a fire show.
Up to 800 participants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will come to the festival. 300 warriors will fight in a massive battle.
Professional musical groups will perform on the stage.
The festival will be useful for people interested in the history, culture and traditions of Ancient Russia. The theme and style of the event are aimed at families.
According to the estimates of the organizers, the festival will be attended by at least 5,000 people.
