Dear Mr. Sibved made a sensational discovery. The columns of St. Isaac's Cathedral are hollow! How was this understood? A piece of paper with a length of about 20 cm climbed into the gap between the column and the patch

Here is a video with this eureka:

"Patch on St. Isaac's Column"

It was concluded from this that the columns are hollow. But the guys did not take into account that the column is more than 2 meters thick! And the depth of the cut is only 20 cm. That is, they measured not the thickness of the walls of the column, but the depth of the patch. And no one knows if the paper strip inside is bent.

And she did bent. Because later the depth of the slit was measured with a metal ruler. It barely made it to 13 cm.

To try to prove that the column is hollow, you need to stick in a long rigid strip up to 2 meters so that it reaches the opposite wall. But, even this will not help. After all, they measure the depth of the patch. And not the column itself. The patch can reach the opposite side. This has nothing to do with the structure of the column.

In addition, it is easy to find photos of columns without patches on the web. And they show that the column is not hollow inside:

Later, another video appeared on the network with the measurement of the depth of the gap:

The result is about the same - about 15 cm. The author wrote in a comment that the wire rested against the wall

Since Kadykchansky also suffered this hen house turmoil, he should publish my refutation as well.
