The last trick of the daredevil Oleg Rezanov was that he was buried in the snow without protective clothing. The 47-year-old man, originally from Kaliningrad, attempted an extreme feat of endurance on a street in Yakutsk in temperatures below -32C, while a crowd of spectators and journalists watched him.

Dressed only in shorts and with a towel covering his face, Oleg lay down in a hole dug in the snow and ice that covered the Lena River before the volunteers shoveled more snow onto him.

After he was completely buried, they even doused him with water to make more ice.

In total, he lasted 12 minutes and 52 seconds in his snowy tomb before ambulances quickly moved to dig him up. Incredibly, he was able to get up almost immediately.

He explained that during this stunt he was in some kind of trance.

“I breathed twice when I was buried,” he said. “I don’t remember anything else. I periodically heard some sounds, very distant. But when they said "12 minutes," I heard it clearly.

“I was shocked that I did it. I am pleased with the result. Nobody believed that this was possible.

- By testing myself, I study what a person can achieve. I want to understand who I am, why I am here and what my future path is. It is overcoming trials that gives me an understanding of who I am."
