Daniel Meerua: This movement, uniting zoologists and filmmakers, in my opinion, is extremely important, because it draws attention to what most people do not want to admit, namely, that the animal world is a world seething with life, thinking and feeling in its own way, which means, deserving all respect from our side.

It is no coincidence that the films created by the participants in this movement have such a major success. They refresh in our memory what we always knew, but which modern civilization made us forget, especially under the influence of positivism and sociology of Auguste Comte, that is, starting from the second half of the 19th century, when they even questioned that animals feel pain.

Our ancestors unequivocally believed that animals have minds, albeit different from ours, and that mind presupposes the presence of emotions, feelings, and reason. At the heart of all the ancient traditions, called today "pagan" (for me there is nothing derogatory in this word), there are legends in which animals not only occupy a significant place, but also act as intermediaries between man and the divine forces of nature. As if a person was deaf and blind and needed intermediaries and translators to fulfill his destiny. Each of these legends is an initiation into a sacrament, a kind of gospel.

Most people in Western countries are not yet ready to accept reality as it is, with all the ensuing consequences, but still great progress has been made. Documentary filmmakers and their zoological assistants managed to avoid the previously adopted anthropomorphic approach, limiting themselves to patient and unbiased observation of animal behavior. Such films can only be made by people with an open heart, who are looking for something to surprise and something to be surprised at. On the other hand, these films would not have had such a great success if the audience was not at all ready for them …

Yes, a lot of time has been lost, and the damage caused to the animal world by our civilization, exploiting it in the most shameless way, is irreparable. But I still think that even a belated awakening is very important and inspires hope. I am not naive enough to believe in a sudden spiritual revolution, but it is better late and slow than never and never …

D. M.: My methods have nothing to do with shamanism, but I completely share the opinion of shamans, namely that each level of life in nature has its own form of mind and that as such it is worthy of our respect and our love. I will even add that our role in this world is to interact with everything that is in it, in the interests of the development of all forms of existence and consciousness, in the interests, if you will, of the expansion of Life.

Of course, astral travel - or the projection of consciousness, which allows one to penetrate, in particular, into the spiritual world of animals - is also practiced by shamans. In fact, there is no clear boundary between the countless methods of establishing human contact with nature on a spiritual level. All mystics, regardless of their methods, ultimately explore the same endless Universe of Spirit.

I was convinced from my own experience and do not have the slightest doubt on this score: yes, it is no less legitimate to talk about an animal civilization than about a human one. To penetrate it, it is enough to admit in the most humble way that humanity does not have a monopoly on reason. What do we know about how animals pass on accumulated experience and knowledge to each other? Nothing … Because we never bother trying to understand the depth of what we call the derogatory word "instinct."

Western civilization has taught us to disdainfully dismiss all other forms of life, where there is no writing or construction "for centuries." A very limited and distorted understanding of what civilization is. Civilization is not measured by the tangible, material things it produces; it exists wherever group consciousness, a specific attitude and spiritual experience, passed down from generation to generation, arise.

D. M.: My method of work consists in separating consciousness from my physical body and projecting it into an immaterial space, in which I have become quite familiar with over the years of practice. Non-material does not mean non-material, it is just another level, another form of existence of matter, another vibration frequency, at which it is possible to directly perceive spiritual reality with its inherent means of expression and communication.

When my consciousness is separated from my body, telepathy, which is natural for the world in which I find myself, automatically becomes my means of communication. There are two forms of telepathy: sound and visual. I noticed that the consciousness of animals is more often expressed in images and perceives them better. That is, most animals "speak" in a fairly clear and rich "language" of projected mental images. These images play the role of words. If you have a cat or dog, try mentally sending her some picture, after some training you will notice by their behavior that the picture is received and perceived. I manage to converse with animal souls in much the same way. The more time you devote to such communication, the images sent and received become clearer and eventually become associated with words.

Like people, animals differ from each other in the level of development, sensitivity, and mental abilities. In most cases, the information transmitted by me was taken by the soul of one of the leaders of one group or another, one or another animal people. Animals also have their favorites, I would even say their gods. As with people, it all depends on the individual spiritual and mental qualities. The gods are responsible for the evolution of the species, for its survival in increasingly difficult ecological conditions, for maintaining its purity despite the genetic "improvements" imposed by man.

I did not get the impression that the animal world is calling out to us for help. Self-esteem and pride are inherent in animals to an incomprehensible degree to us. I would rather say that their collective consciousness towards us is filled with expectation and hope.

Their spiritual leaders know that humanity has reached a dead end in its development and that it has no other choice but to reconsider its attitude towards nature in general and towards animals in particular.

Except for some skepticism, I have not encountered any negative reactions to my publications. I think the reason here is that people who do not strive for openness of spirit and freedom of thought are simply not interested in evidence of this kind!

D. M.: A whole book could be written about this alone. The spirit of the group is a kind of god for a particular species of animal. In this sense, we can talk about a cat god, a dog god. But they are only part of the natural hierarchical pyramid, determined by the level of development of consciousness within a particular family of animals. For example, the feline god is superior to the cat god. In short, animals have spiritual leaders of different levels and responsibilities. Everything is like with humans, except that animals immediately feel the presence of their spiritual leader, while people may not recognize their own.

Our consciousness has reached its current level as a result of long development. In the distant past, it was at the level of animals, even earlier - plants, very long ago - minerals. The individual soul of each of us, thus, remembers itself as a part of the most different egregors and collective souls. Even now it is not completely isolated, receding into the background when we sacrifice our personal interests for the sake of the interests of the group, for example, going to war or participating in a demonstration. In the ranks of a major manifestation, a person often acts in a way that he would never have acted of his own free will.

When I say that our consciousness was once at the animal stage, I certainly do not mean today's animals. It is about the type of consciousness, not the physical form. What we call God, this Power of indomitable expansion and Love, has been experiencing all possible forms of life for millions of years. I talk about this in more detail in the book How God Became God.

TO.: You also write that the majority of souls, from life to life, from incarnation to incarnation, strive for ever greater independence and that this is equally characteristic of both humans and animals. Is this not one of the reasons why some animals seek contact with us, become pets? You are talking about a kind of rebellion, almost hatred of a person because of his "illness." What do you have in mind?

D. M.: Yes, all forms of life, and therefore all souls, whether they are already autonomous or are still entirely dependent on the collective soul, strive in their development for greater and greater individual independence. When a group of animals moves away from their "mentor god", they approach a person, attracted by the aura of spiritual freedom that surrounds him. This rapprochement with a person often takes the form of domestication, voluntary and even sought after … A person, however, in such cases usually acts as a slave owner and ruthless exploiter.

Some groups of animals agreed to pay for the development of their species and such a high price, others considered it unacceptable. Only the supreme soul of the group in each particular case knows the motives of this or that decision as the best for the given group from the point of view of its evolution. Both human and animal peoples develop in their own way. In a sense, it can be said that some choose the lunar path, others the solar path, by analogy with the wet and dry paths in alchemy.

The feline people seem to have found their own middle path. Quite domestic and tolerant of humans, cats at the same time remain indomitable and independent.

D. M.: No doubt about it. There are a great many such civilizations in different parts of the universe. Our planet is a tiny grain of sand that imagines itself as a mountain in the center of the rest of the world. There is every reason to believe that somewhere in our or another dimension, life exists in all its forms, in all that we can only imagine and which we cannot.

I happened to find myself in worlds with civilizations of an animal type, a plant type. I don’t know if I will ever be able to describe them in detail - in our world there are no analogous concepts, which means that there are no words to express them … I can only say that these civilizations are stunning and delightful. They also teach humility and openness of spirit.
