At the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle, Canadian scientists Paul Weinzweig and his wife Polina Zelitskaya discovered the sunken city. It is located at the bottom of the sea, 700 meters north of the east coast of Cuba. In the underwater photographs taken by the robot, the researchers made out the ruins of the ancient city.

Fragment of an article about the find:

In June 2000, while conducting a planned survey of the seabed several kilometers off the west coast of Cuba, Ulysses' sonar painted a strange picture. The bottom, which was uniform around, for some reason turned out to be mottled with light spots, which resembled the layout of some ancient city. “The picture that opened up to sonar resembled a large metropolis from a bird's eye view,” said Polina Zelitskaya, “light spots reminded of houses, tunnels, roads and squares.” Lacking the equipment that could more accurately describe the topography of the ocean floor at a depth of 800 meters, "Ulises" returned to the Bay of Cabo de San Antonio a year later. This time, the ship carried high-precision sonar, a global positioning system and a special mini-submarine equipped with a video camera.

ADC amazed the scientific world for the second time - the photographs taken by sonar showed huge stone blocks of various shapes - some up to 400 meters long and up to 40 meters high. These structures covered an area of about twenty square kilometers, and were located close to the volcano. Polina and her husband did not doubt for a second that the huge megalithic stones were created by people: “There is always a human settlement near the volcano, this is a fact,” said Paul Weinzweig. Polina suggested that it could be a giant temple, and the structures are the remains of walls erected by people.

Geologist Manuel Iturralde was skeptical: "The existence of such structures can be explained by natural causes, there are similar limestone formations in Cuba." One problem: limestone oxidizes under the action of sea water and turns black, and the megaliths found by Zelitskaya were white. This means that they are composed of granite, which is not found in the form of similar geological formations either in Cuba or Mexico. New finds followed: the mini-boat filmed mysterious pictograms and crosses from crossed ovals on video. Polina Zelitskaya argued that the pictograms resemble Cretan writing, which has not yet been deciphered by scientists.

The first to look for Atlantis near Cuba was the Englishman Andrew Collins, one of the leading "Atlantologists", the author of the book "Atlantis in America". In his book, he cites evidence that "some submarine structures" were observed by Soviet submarines based in Cuba. Shortly before the second Ulysses expedition, Collins sends Zelitskaya and her husband his book with a request to call back and leave a conditional message - "Plato is alive!" - in the event that their expedition succeeds in finding any confirmation of his theory. “On Monday, June 23rd, a bell rang at my house, and a woman’s voice said:“Plato is alive,”Collins writes.“I felt like Howard Carter, opening the tomb of Tutankhamun. With the difference that all the treasures of Egypt will seem like a joke in comparison with what Atlantis will bring. " However, Collins soon became more skeptical: he was not satisfied with the evidence presented by ADC, and he embarrassedly remarks that he would like more solid evidence of what the mini-robot took off: "I was left disappointed with what I saw on the video," writes he. Moreover, he was embarrassed by the reports of petroglyphs allegedly scrawled on stones - Collins admits that he had not seen anything like this on the video clip that he had at his disposal. But similar petroglyphs, found by him in one of the Cuban caves, he cited in his book, sent to them by Zelitsky!
