In fact, it is impossible to win a war without heroic deeds, and every valiant soldier, even nameless, will remain in the history of a great victory. And, of course, the Red Army soldiers fought not for awards, but for their country, relatives and future. But, nevertheless, no one canceled the material awards for heroism shown during the hostilities, and? as history shows, courage and bravery paid well.
Today you can see a whole series of orders signed during the war personally by Joseph Stalin? about bonuses for the shown courage. Of course, for each enemy killed, Soviet soldiers were not presented with awards, but significant achievements during the hostilities were not ignored.
Domestic aviation was in Stalin's special account. The heroism and courage of the famous Soviet pilots were awarded on the basis of the Order No. 0299 of August 19, 1941 on the procedure for awarding Air Force flight personnel, according to which Soviet pilots received 1,000 rubles for each destroyed German aircraft. The number of feats was also encouraged. So, for 5 combat missions the pilot received 1,500 rubles, for 25 - 3,000. But the "tariff" for night flights was higher: for 5 they gave 2,000 rubles.
Interesting fact:participation in the bombing of Berlin was paid separately and dearly. According to order No. 0265 of 1941-08-08, the pilots were awarded 2,000 rubles for one bomb dropped on the capital of the Third Reich.
But not only pilots were encouraged by awards. Towards the middle of the war, on July 24, 1943, Stalin signed order No. 0387 to encourage soldiers who blew up enemy tanks: the detonation of each Nazi tank was estimated at 500 rubles for the gunner of an artillery gun, other members of the gun crew received 200 rubles each. The infantry soldiers who blew up the tank with a hand grenade were not left without encouragement - they received a bonus of 1,000 rubles.
Fighters of the invisible front and rear in the form of partisans and militias were also awarded on the basis of Stalin's order No. 0281 of 1942-14-04, according to which they were awarded material and monetary allowances of the same size as the Red Army soldiers.
Civilians employed in urban air defense units were also provided material support, the amount of which was equivalent to their average monthly salary in peacetime, but this amount did not exceed 400 rubles.
The families of the heroes of the Red Army did not offend either. According to order No. 242 of 1941-23-07 on providing for the families of front-line soldiers, the wives of the highest command personnel of the army received different amounts depending on the number of children in the family: childless - 250 rubles, with one child - 300, with two children - 400, large families - 500 rubles. month.
The wives of junior command personnel received, according to the same criterion, 150, 200, 250 and 300 rubles a month. The wives of ordinary soldiers of the Red Army received at the same "tariffs" 50, 75, 100 and 125 rubles.
In the war, it was important not only to destroy enemy equipment, but also to quickly repair their own. Stalin understood this, too, when he issued a special order No. 0249 of 1942-05-04 on material reward for the successful repair of military equipment. So, for the restoration of a bomber aircraft, a team of technicians was awarded 2,000 rubles, a heavy TB-3 or TB-7 - 4,000, an attack aircraft or fighter - 750 rubles.
For the repair of an artillery gun, the brigade received from 15 to 200 rubles, depending on the type of gun and the complexity of the breakdown. By the same principle, prizes were given for the repair of firearms.
