For fifty years, Dmitry Iraklidis, a Greek translator, compiled a new etymological dictionary of the Russian language, which interprets the origin of the languages of Europe in a different way. He proves that in Greek most words come from Russian and German.

Who can claim with complete confidence that they know the truth? You can? Personally, I will not take responsibility for at least in any issue to assert: "My judgments are true."

Have you ever talked to a scientist? If "yes", then you know that, after conducting a research, setting up an experiment, confirming what was deduced by all conceivable and inconceivable evidence, they speak about the subject of scientific research with 99.9% confidence and NEVER 100%.

The other day, an elderly man, translator, Dmitry Iraklidis came to our editorial office. I came to tell you about my research. I will say right away that it shocked me.

But before reporting on the topic of scientific work, a few words about its author. So, you already know the name. I will add that our guest is 85 years old. He came to Greece as a teenager. In 1934, the parents, fearing reprisals, decided that it would be better for them to move from a small railway station near Melitopol to Hellas.

Our guest has been working as a translator for 50 years. His business card contains six languages spoken by Mr. Iraklidis - English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Russian.

So that's about the work of Dmitry Iraklidis - it, of course, about languages. The author proves that all European languages originated from Russian, which is the most ancient world language, while others are much younger than it, including Greek.

Everyone who studied at school remembers that two Slavic educators, Cyril and Methodius, created a Slavic script based on the Greek alphabet. Old Russian came out of the Old Slavic language, and from it already - the modern Russian language.

In total, there are about six dozen "European languages" - that is, those that have their own writing and traditions. Of course, the number of speakers in one language or another is different.

The official science recognizes several as the most ancient European languages, although the controversy around the question of which language is ancient do not subside. More often than others, the right to antiquity is given to Greek, Latin, Welsh and the Basque language.

If we talk about the "age" of national languages, the Italian language has retained its old appearance to the greatest extent.

This is the official point of view. But there are official points of view for that, so that there are pioneers who subvert dogmas and put forward their own points of view.

Mr. Iraklidis presented his to me.

- There is an official science, thanks to which we know how the Slavic language originated. Do you disagree with her?

- When people came to the territory of the Balkan Peninsula, the first settlers were Germans. They came from the coast of the Elbe River. From there, the British also left, who later moved to the island (modern Great Britain), the Greeks also left the coast of the Elbe. Some of the people from these tribes went westward and settled on the Apennine Peninsula. This is how the Romans happened. Another part went eastward, as I said, to the Balkans - later these people began to call themselves Greeks.

There were many tribes. When the Germans came to the new territory, they met the Pelazgs (the name of the tribe means close, neighbors), and there were these tribes - Russians. By uniting, the Greeks originated and created the Greek language.

I am ready to prove that in Greek most words come from Russian and German.

- Then how do you feel about the theory that tells us that the Slavic enlighteners Cyril and Methodius created the Slavic language based on Greek?

Western etymologists, describing the Russian language, all the time refer to the Church Slavonic language. But this is wrong, since the Church Slavonic language is an artificially created language. Many Western scholars simply do not want to show the power of the Russian language

In Greek, a lot of words correspond to Russian. Words such as "Aphrodite", "Apollo" originated from the Russian language.

- How did you come to this theory?

- I have worked with different languages for 50 years, and gradually I came to this theory. I have been writing an etymological dictionary for many years and could have published it 20 years ago.

It is fundamentally different from all the works already available in the world.

- Give us an example.

- I prove everything in my dictionary. But, unfortunately, I have no money to publish this work. I AM twice wrote to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help publish a dictionary, since my theory proves the greatness of the Russian people, which they do not want to recognize in the world.

But my letters, apparently, did not reach the addressee. now my turn wrote to Mr. Miller, the head of Gazprom, since this organization has money, and I would like them to help in publishing the dictionary.

- Does your theory contradict the official one?

- Any theory that does not agree with mine is wrong. Just as etymological dictionaries do not correspond to reality - all dictionaries are in any language - German, English, Italian, Russian. I am sure that all theories will be changed, all books will be rewritten.

To be honest, I don’t know how to relate to the scientific theory of Mr. Iraklidis, I’m not a philologist, so I don’t presume to judge. I can only say one thing: no one can say that he knows the truth. There are hundreds of candidate and doctoral dissertations that in Russian there are not three, but six declensions, 26 cases and a lot more that have never been taught to us at school, and even at the institute at the faculties of philology and journalism.

The theory is too radical, but not unique. Break all possible scientific sites, found a couple of discussions and examples with arguments. Here is just one excerpt from the discussion:

“The Elba River is light, white, the same meaning is for the words alba, albino, derivatives - albedo, Albion (along the chalk coast, which Caesar saw when approaching Britain). In Slavic Elba - Laba, which also means "white", these words have the same root - LB, the same as in the word swan, meaning a white bird. One more example. Hydra is a Greek word for an animal that lives in water. The otter is also an animal that lives in the water. " True, such examples are strenuously smashed by other scholars-philologists. It must be admitted that discussions in the scientific world, even on the Internet latitudes, are developing very serious, which means there is a grain of truth.

Therefore, completing the story about the theory of my interlocutor, I will let you know that our editorial office has the coordinates of Dmitry Iraklidis and if someone is interested in an unusual etymological dictionary, or, perhaps, wants to help in publishing it, call.
