The shelves of supermarkets abound in everything today: products, culinary delights, and even drinks that stimulate the energy potential of a person, in any case, so they promise us beautiful labels. But what kind of reaction our body actually gives to stimulants of this kind, let's figure it out together!

The average person is able to work with a short rest break for eight hours, and recovers through sleep after an intense day of work for an average of about six hours. However, important and urgent matters can force us to change our regime and look for additional strength or, as it is also called, a second wind. Unfortunately, not everyone is limited to jogging or a contrast shower, the trend is that both adults and adolescents are increasingly resorting to the use of energy drinks.

The harm of energy drinks. History reference

It should be noted that energy drinks that stimulate brain and physical activity are not an innovative achievement of our times, people first met them back in the distant XII century in Germany, but then the drink did not gain popularity. At the beginning of the 20th century, the English researcher Smith Klein Beechmon, in order to increase the endurance and physical capabilities of a team of rugby players, prepared and gave athletes an energy drink. The result was very disastrous: the team was completely eliminated from the competition, as the players were severely poisoned. Surprisingly, the British continued to use the energy drink anyway, despite the obvious harm to their health. In the mid-60s of the same century, Japanese scientists, taking advantage of Beechmon's idea, developed their own energy drink, since then Japan has taken a leading position in the production of this product.

Since the 80s of the past century, the production of power engineers has acquired a mass character, the impetus for this was the world famous power engineer R. B. Austrian Dietrich Mateshets. Even realizing all the harm of energy drinks, many people have joined the ranks of active consumers and its analogues have begun to appear all over the world.

Now let's figure out what a typical energy drink is, or rather, what substances are included in its composition?

So, an energy drink is a product for the production of which various stimulants are used, as well as auxiliary ingredients, such as: dye, flavor, and so on. By the way, energy drinks also contain vitamins, but this fact does not make them useful. Even one can of such a drink suppresses fatigue, helps to concentrate, increases brain activity, thus, a person is able to remain concentrated and vigorous for several hours. A hellish test for the central nervous system, isn't it?

Manufacturers around the world are trying as best they can to bring something new to the energy drink in order to attract as many consumers as possible, but in fact the composition of all energy drinks is the same, they are all rich in content:

  1. Caffeine- a substance that is aimed at stimulating the work of our brain. Under the influence of caffeine, the contractions of the heart muscle increase many times;
  2. Taurine- a substance that is a powerful antioxidant aimed at accelerating the metabolism in the body;
  3. Ginseng and Guarana- natural extracts that cleanse the liver and promote the elimination of lactic acid from cells;
  4. Melatonin- an antioxidant that works as a regulator of the human circadian rhythm;
  5. Mateina- a substance aimed at reducing weight and dulling hunger;
  6. L-carnitine - a substance that surprisingly oxidizes excess fat in cells;
  7. Vitamins of group B - it is they who are called upon to stabilize the nervous system;
  8. Phenylanine - a substance that significantly improves the taste of the drink;
  9. Glucose, fructose and sucrose - carbohydrates, which also have a stimulating effect on the brain and allow us to fall asleep.

On the face of it, sheer benefit. However, the combination of these substances has a negative effect on individual organs and systems of our body, and irreversible changes occur at the level of the central nervous system.

In addition, the harm of energy drinks lies in the fact that they do not give energy as such, they only contribute to the release of the vital energy of a person with which he came into this world. In this case, releasing is equal to waste. Simply put, using energy, we waste our vital energy, which will then be extremely difficult to restore. Practical yoga classes serve as an excellent and inexhaustible source of vital energy, here a person will put his inner world in order and discover hidden potential in himself. At the same time, positive energy will accumulate, and an experienced yoga mentor will teach you how to spend it in reasonable amounts and in a really correct way. Because by wasting himself on the satisfaction of his own passions and harmful desires, a person spoils his karma. As a matter of fact, it is better for people who pursue base goals, and use energetics to achieve them, not to accumulate such energy at all. If you regularly attend yoga classes and at the same time find a mentor to your liking, you will soon feel like you will have a second wind, and you will need less and less time to get enough sleep. And instead of the prescribed seven hours, you will only need five hours, but at the same time you will feel clarity of thoughts, strength and a desire to conquer new heights. Agree that in this case, the need to consume energy drinks disappears by itself.

The harm of energy drinks for teens

What a pity that none of the representatives of our legislative branch had the idea to equate energy drinks with alcoholic ones and prohibit them from being sold to persons under the age of majority. The harm of energy drinks for teenagers is invaluable! Studies carried out by scientists in a number of countries have proven that the main threat to the immature body of a teenager is one hundred percent addiction and future addiction. Over time, in order to achieve the desired effect, the young man will have to double the amount of energy. This kind of addiction is no different from alcohol or drug addiction; you will have to be treated in appropriate institutions. The nervous system will also suffer: frequent depression, dissatisfaction, irritability, loss of control over one's own emotions, and social status. Registration in a narcological dispensary guarantees a certain kind of difficulty in everyday life: problems with obtaining a driver's license, the inability to hold public office, constant monitoring by the guardianship authorities (if in adulthood a teenager gets a family and children) and much more.

Of course, having used an energy drink for the first time, adolescents fall into euphoria from the imaginary ability to move mountains, but this effect is very fleeting, and it will be replaced by depression, exhaustion and a broken state. The explanation is very simple - an energetic a priori cannot become a source of energy, it is just a means by which the hidden resources of the body are released and extracted, which, by the way, nature has carefully hidden for an emergency. As a result, the frenzied activity will inevitably subside, since the body must somehow restore the energy borrowed from itself.

It should be noted that scientists agreed that an energetic does not give energy, but forces the body to lay out its internal reserve of strength, and in the case of a teenage body, this will lead to insomnia, irritation, depression, and disturbances in the functioning of the central nervous system. In fact, an energy drink is the same drug! Once in the body, its substances create an extremely aggressive environment inside: they destroy cells, tissues and mucous membranes, and also nullify the immune system. If appropriate measures are not taken in time, you can even come to such a terrible disease as encephalopathy.

The harm of energy drinks to the human body

When consuming energy drinks, a person should be aware of the fact that the taurine contained in them, by several tens, or even hundreds of times, exceeds the daily rate with which a healthy body is able to cope. In addition, the energy drink contains a huge amount of other harmful components, which, together with taurine, can lead to an overdose, which will cause:

  • Severe abdominal pain;
  • Sharp jumps in body temperature;
  • Gastritis attacks;
  • Arrhythmias;
  • Disorders of the cardiovascular system;
  • Exacerbations of peptic ulcer disease;
  • Frequent urination and problems with the genitourinary system as such;
  • Vomiting;
  • Diarrhea;
  • Confused consciousness;
  • Fainting conditions;
  • Auditory and visual hallucinations.

Of course, from blue screens we are constantly told about a miracle drink, thanks to which any task, even the most difficult one, is within reach, so that a person wants to try an energy drink thanks to such advertising is natural. And at the same time we pay for a beautiful can and a colorful label, knowingly and for our own money, we kill ourselves from the inside. In fact, the real price of any power engineer is 15% of the price declared by the manufacturer, since it contains substances whose price is reduced to a scanty indicator. Otherwise, consumers pay for marketing work and provide a stable income for the manufacturer. The technology for the production of energy drinks is generally terrifying by how much nastiness eventually gets into our body, just think 0.25 liters of the drink consists of:

  1. 55.5% is a syrup, which consists of the above components;
  2. 44.5% is water.

The mere fact that an energy drink is a mixture of syrup and water should repel the buyer. Such a mixture slowly kills the cells of the human body, fills them, which inevitably leads to obesity and cancer. In addition, the harm of energy drinks to the human body is expressed in the emergence and development of a variety of ailments:

  • Dysfunction of the central nervous system;
  • Development of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, including oncology;
  • Development of thrombosis;
  • The onset of diabetes mellitus;
  • Manifestation of mental disorders;
  • Decreased productivity in the work of the cardiovascular system;
  • Development of epileptic disease, as well as anaphylaxis;
  • Loss of the ability to concentrate and concentrate;
  • Loss of strength and reduced level of ability to work;
  • Decreased interest in the outside world, including the opposite sex (decreased libido and potency);
  • If we are talking about a fragile adolescent body, then there are often cases of death;
  • The person begins to feel more and more the symptoms of addiction.

The fact that an energy drink is the same drug is a scientifically proven fact, which means that you need to stay away from them as far as possible, do not succumb to the tempting promises of the manufacturer, do not even try once "for the company" because the body's reaction will not take long:

  1. Loss of consciousness, sudden fainting, as a result of which accidents can often occur, especially for those who are driving;
  2. Bleeding, seizures, hearing loss or impairment;
  3. It is strictly forbidden to consume energy drinks for women who are in a state of pregnancy;
  4. Manifestation of suicidal tendencies;
  5. Frequent migraines;
  6. The manifestation of manic phobias, disorders and deviations in the line of psychiatry;

Most often, in advanced cases, such manifestations are irreversible, the energy user becomes a patient of psychiatric and narcological clinics.

The harm of energy drinks to the body

Energetics have a positive effect on a person only at the initial stage of their use, it seems to a person that his energy resources are replenished, physical and mental performance increases, and no one thinks about what will happen next. And then comes: euphoria and hyperactivity give way to exhaustion: a person feels tired and exhausted. The harm of energy drinks on the body is manifested, first of all, in the fact that a person cannot sleep normally. Sleep becomes very sensitive: any slightest irritant causes early awakening, it takes a long time to fall asleep. Most likely, you can't even call it a dream, now a good rest is more like a nap, falling into which a person has nightmares.

In addition, it should be mentioned that it becomes difficult for a person to navigate in space, it is extremely difficult to make decisions in unforeseen situations. As noted above, death can also occur. Even after realizing the problem, just stopping the use of energy drinks is not enough, it requires serious and qualified medical care and rehabilitation under the guidance of a specialist.

Summing up, it should be noted that in the case of energy drinks, no matter what good goals the person using them pursues - to earn as much money as possible, pass the session ahead of schedule, learn a huge report - they do not justify the remedy! At the same time, if you really need to increase your activity or complete a huge number of accumulated cases, turn to traditional medicine: make cranberry juice or lemon water and consume them regularly, compose your diet so that it is more than half of fruits.

If one day you come to the realization that you need more time to be awake, and, accordingly, more energy, reconsider your lifestyle fundamentally: choose one of the yoga styles for yourself, for a start it can be hatha yoga, and switch to vegetarian power supply system. Meditation practice helps to replenish your energy supply: find a secluded place in the fresh air, for example, in a garden, immerse yourself completely in yourself and your world. Try to read more books, solitude with your favorite book will give you the opportunity to fully relax, and subsequently work productively. It is a great alternative to energetics that brings health and blissful energy to your body.
