I know the letters:
A letter is an asset.
Work hard, earthlings, As befits reasonable people -
Comprehend the universe!
Carry the word with conviction -
Knowledge is a gift from God!
Dare, delve into
To comprehend the light of existence
(Epistle to the Slavs)
RUskaya Alphabet is a completely unique phenomenon among all known methods of letter writing. The ABC differs from other alphabets not only in the practically perfect embodiment of the principle of unambiguous graphic display: one sound - one letter. In the ABC, and only in it, there is content.
DLet's start with the phrase "Every hunter wants to know where the pheasant is sitting." It is known to everyone from childhood and serves to memorize the sequence of the colors of the rainbow. This is the so-called acrophonic way of memorizing: each word of the phrase begins with the same letter as the name of the color: each = red, hunter = orange, etc.
OHowever, acrophonic memorization is far from child's play. For example, after the invention of S. Morse in 1838, the famous code for telegraph communications, the problem of mass training of telegraph operators arose. Learning Morse code quickly turned out to be more difficult than the multiplication table. The solution was found - for the convenience of memorization, each Morse character was opposed by a word starting with the letter that this character conveys - for example, the dot-dash character is called a watermelon, since it conveys "a".
ACrophony provides the convenience of memorizing the alphabet and, thus, the fastest possible distribution.
WITHAmong the main European alphabets, three are more or less acrophonic: Greek, Hebrew and Cyrillic (= Glagolitic). In the Latin alphabet, this feature is completely absent, therefore, the Latin alphabet could appear only on the basis of an already widespread script, when acrophony is not essential.
Vthe Greek alphabet traces the remnants of acrophony in the names of 14 out of 27 letters: alpha, beta (more correctly - vita), gamma, etc. However, these words do not mean anything in the Greek language and are slightly distorted derivatives of the Hebrew words aleph "bull", bet " house ", gimel" camel ", etc. Hebrew completely retains acrophony to this day, which, by the way, contributes a lot to the rapid education of immigrants in Israel. Comparison on the basis of acrophonicity directly indicates a certain borrowing by the Greeks of the Hebrew letter.
PThe raslavic ABC also fully possesses the acrophonicity feature, however, in one respect it differs significantly from Hebrew. In Hebrew, all letter names are nouns in the singular and nominative case, and among the names of 29 letters of the Slavic alphabet, at least 7 words are verbs (see table 1). Of these, four of them are in the imperative mood: two in the singular (rtsy, tsy) and two in the plural (think, live), one verb in indefinite form (yat), one in the 3rd person singular (is) and one in the past tense - "lead". (Note that in "ancient" Hebrew the concept of a verb is absent at all). Moreover, among the names of the letters there are pronouns (kako, shta), and adverbs (firm, zelo), and plural nouns (people, beeches), as in ordinary speech.
Vnormal coherent speech, one verb accounts for an average of 3 other parts of speech. In the names of the letters of the Proto-Slavic alphabet, it is precisely this frequency of the verb that is observed, which directly indicates the coherent nature of the alphabetical names.
TThus, the Proto-Slavic Alphabet is a Message - a set of coding phrases that allow each sound of the language system to give an unambiguous graphic correspondence - that is, a letter. At the same time, the lettering systems for the transmission of the same sound system can be different, for example, Cyrillic = Glagolitic for the Proto-Slavic language, Cyrillic = Latin for the modern Serbo-Croatian language, three equal systems of medieval Georgian writing known from history, etc.
Anow let's read the Message contained in the Proto-Slavic ABC.
RLet's consider the first three letters of the alphabet - Az, Buki, Vedi.

Fire-light rituals of the Slavs
Fire, didn't it change the whole history and the entire way of life of mankind? To command fire is the lot of gods and people. But people only partially dominate the fire, quickly turning from its masters into victims. That is why absolute power over fire for people is associated with the intervention and assistance of the gods. Fire worship of the Slavs has its own, different from other peoples, rituals and images

Find the differences ABC of Tolstoy and ABC of the USSR
Studying the history and development of our language, I came across information that before the Soviet regime, the first to cut off the alphabet was L.N. Tolstoy. "Alphabet" is a school manual written by Leo Tolstoy to teach children to read, write and arithmetic. Literary and pedagogical work, consisting of four books and first published in 1872
