Video: Decomposition of the OSHO sect and its followers

I have always felt sorry for thinkers who were unlucky after death to turn into collections of quotes for social networks of clinical idiots. It must be that Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Confucius and others are rather disgusted with hiccups when their words are taken out of context so that Ivan from Orekhovo-Zuevo feels smarter than he should be. But it should be much worse for them from the fact that in these very quotes, professional breeders of idiots, like Jacques Fresco and Osho, coexist with real philosophers.
We have already spoken about the first in detail, it's time to move on to the second. There is not a single bookstore where the books of this shameless deceiver would not stand in a conspicuous place. I am sure that 90% of those who repost the supposedly wise thoughts of a dirty old man do not suspect that Chandra Mohan Jayin (real name Osho Rajneesh) is, among other things, a self-styled god, sex guru and owner of an impressive Rolls-Royce collection. But let's get started.
Who is Osho?
A bearded uncle who founded one of the most powerful neo-Hindu sects of the 20th century. I say "one of" only because Krishnaism and the Japanese "Aum Shinrikyo" (oddly enough) are also neo-Indian sects. But Osho's greatness should not be underestimated. He built a reputation for himself as an infallible ascetic guru and a brilliant sage, contriving at the same time to hammer drugs and drive around in expensive cars.
Unlike Fresco, Osho did not particularly criticize capitalism, willingly used its benefits and died on a huge pile of money. And if Jacques can still be suspected of simply believing in his unrealizable ideas, then Osho is a one hundred percent swindler, who, by some misunderstanding, is considered a philosopher. We are here to fix this.
Nominally, the essence of Osho's teachings is striving for Awakening. Of course, no one will tell you what "Awakening" means. It's kind of like Buddhist enlightenment, but not really. Literally all of Osho's terms are a meaningless abstraction that means anything. The dude pulled on concepts and terms from Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and even Freudianism.
How did he avoid criticism? The guru has developed an ingenious method of protection. Roughly speaking, if you do not understand and ask questions, it means that you simply have not grown up to understand the truth. Something like this, by the way, is the answer to critics and fanatics of Fresco.
Osho began his career as a preacher in India, and then founded a network of ashrams around the world - in fact, physical branches of the sect. In the eighties, when the fame of his neo-sannyas teachings was already thundering all over the world, Osho became seriously ill, and therefore his followers transported him to the United States - to a ranch, bought for $ 5.7 million. This is a lot even now, and even more so in 1981. Not bad for an old man who preaches the rejection of the mundane in favor of the spiritual, isn't it?
In 1984, Osho was deported due to the fact that his followers staged a biological terrorist attack, poisoning more than seven hundred people with salmonella, and warehouses of weapons and drugs were found on the territory of their camp. Osho's press secretary named Sheela is blamed for this, but very soon we will see that the old sick uncle was not so simple.
Osho had sex orgies with followers
Not that the bearded man with hairy flaps is very similar to Hugh Hefner, but one of the fundamental principles of his teaching is free love and the practice of sexual meditation. Actually, this is one of the reasons why Osho went so coolly to the public from the United States. People nostalgic for the hippie ideology of the 60s willingly entered a wide variety of oriental cults in order to achieve enlightenment, not limiting themselves to sex and drugs.
Osho considered tantric sex as a path to purification, at the same time using the opportunity to criticize other religious teachings in which free relationships were considered a sin. According to rumors, the guru chose his mistresses among his followers, but others believe that Osho was celibate. Agree, this is a rather strange position for the head of a cult, largely based on sex.
While searching for information on the Osho Ashram in Antelope, Oregon, I came across a large number of rumors about sex crimes in the sect's camp. There is no confirmation, but, as practice shows, such crimes are not uncommon in Hindu cults. The power of the guru in them is unquestioning, and the rest must obey literally on slavish terms. The organization of the same Hare Krishnas has a special internal body to investigate such things. So the rumors give rise to serious suspicion.
Criticism of other teachings brought Osho many followers
Seriously, I regularly come across Osho quotes among atheists, which is very, very strange. Probably, these people are simply reposting anything that criticizes a particular religion in which they are disappointed. Criticizing other religions is one of Osho's favorite tactics. So he gathered a flock that broke away from other teachings.
In India, he gained popularity as a critic of Mahatma Gandhi, who promoted poverty. Osho believed that poverty should be overcome, not spread. This position may sound sound, but the old man paradoxically contrived to be both an ascetic criticizing the worldly and a Rolls-Royce millionaire.
The thing is that Osho's asceticism is a rejection of a "slave society", and not of money, which is mega-tricky. Among his quotes one can find both attacks towards capitalism and harsh criticism of socialism. Accordingly, the first came to Western outsiders, and the second - to people from a poor environment. Brilliant.
Osho regularly insulted his audience
The main feature of Osho's quotes is their overt aggressiveness. You're a fool. You grew up in a slave society. You do not understand anything. You are flawed. Any disagreement with himself, Osho, with the arrogant feeder of the expert, attributed to the stupidity of the dissenter. "I am here to strike you blow after blow," - that is what he said in his lectures and sermons.
This is what the famous "How dare you?" long before the birth of Greta Thunberg. The only cooler thing is how Osho really explained why he was right. Distrust of Osho, he said, comes only from mistrust of himself. As soon as a person finds inner harmony and learns to trust himself, he will have no questions left.
Sect members were tapped in Osho ashrams
All calls on the Antelope compound were tapped so that someone would not turn over the drug store to the government or change their mind about becoming an Osho apprentice. Twenty-one members of his community were charged with illegal wiretapping. Followers believe that this is the work of Sheela, who replaced Osho during the illness, but hey, how can something so wrong and totalitarian appear in a healthy environment?
This is precisely the forceful maintenance of one's authority. After all, it is on such methods that the teachings preaching total personal freedom should be based, right? But perhaps we simply misunderstand the word "ashram". If it really means "forced labor" or "prison colony" then everything will fall into place.
In fact, Osho did not write a single book
So where are they from then in stores? Well, according to legend, Osho was carefully recorded by his followers. And this is really important. Even Amiran Sardarov can write a book, and each word is written down only after the messiahs, like Jesus or Buddha.
Therefore, every book by Osho is a book about Osho. Myth, apocrypha, life - call it what you want. In fact, you get a collection of table aphorisms, specially written in such a way as to achieve two important goals. First, make it sound wise but incomprehensible. Secondly, so that every single thought could be put into a picture for Vkontach.
Someone will even decide that his followers are simply making money on the name of Osho. I remind you about the Rolls-Royces, millions in donations, a sex harem and wiretapping. Even if he did not consent to the press, Mr. Osho himself is quite a slippery guy. So, if we assume that his teachings are retold by the younger masters of the divorce of the goyim for shekels, then this still fits perfectly into the Osho's system of values.
Osho helped to register illegal marriages
The smallest, but therefore no less funny point. More than four hundred fictitious marriages of foreigners with US citizens have been contracted thanks to the activities of the Osho commune in Oregon. All this was done in order to bypass American immigration laws. Until now, this case is considered the largest marriage fraud in the history of the United States.
A bunch of weapons found in a warehouse of the Osho sect in the USA
We have already mentioned this in passing, but the case is too large to pass by. The Osho ashrams in Oregon appeared to be in such dire need of protection that they became the most heavily armed settlements in the state. Police seized an arsenal of ultrasound, semi-automatic rifles, revolvers and tear gas grenades from neo-sannyas followers.
Here is how the Danish woman who was responsible for Osho's security explains it: “No one can come and destroy us. We are not Jews, so we can sit back and wait until they cut us out. Oh, sounds like a very peaceful religion, dudes. How to sign up?
In addition to cannons, there were also a number of narcotic substances. Osho himself sat firmly on Valium throughout his old age in order to drown out the pain from various diseases.
And the US government suspected high-ranking members of the cult of planning, firstly, a terrorist attack, and, secondly, the murder of one of the most important lawyers of Oregon, Charles Turner. This is your sage you quote, yeah.
Why do people still like Osho?
Most likely, in most cases, people have little idea who they read and quote. A sonorous name of three letters suggests that this is some kind of oriental sage, like Omar Khayyam. Quotes taken out of context sound cool. So, due to the fact that people are too lazy to go even to Wikipedia, the reputation of one of the most scandalous cultists is cleared (not to be confused with sectologists).
But, fortunately, Osho is not too dangerous now. More precisely, no more dangerous than other sects. Harmful - certainly. But his teaching has always been a set of random references and abstract nonsense, based on the cult of the personality of one person. After his death in 1990, no one was able to bring the cult back to its former greatness. They only managed to whitewash Osho and make a lot of money selling rubbish books.
It's hard to believe that someone will really follow Osho's words seriously in 2020. The Hare Krishnas at least pretend to be an ancient religion, Scientologists tell an interesting cosmic tale, and the followers of Jacques Fresco have some kind of faith in a techno-communist utopia with robots. Osho's sectarian capital at this moment is zero. But please learn how to use Google and stop quoting it.
