Heating of utility rooms - be it a garage, a workshop or a shed - in the difficult climatic realities of central Russia and in the northern regions can be a real challenge. This problem can be solved by installing a solid fuel boiler. If this is not possible, or if you want to reduce costs, and your hands grow from the right place, then a wood-fired heating battery is not very difficult to make yourself. Specifically, this is enough for a room with an area of 70 sq. M.

To create a solid fuel battery, you will need 4 gas cylinders, fittings 12 mm - 5 meters, square profiles 15x15 mm and 20x20 mm with dimensions of 1.5 meters and 8 meters, a construction hairpin 0.8 mm - 0.4 meters. You also need decorative steel balls for fences and gates - 2 pieces, a thick-walled steel pipe 120 mm long, 30 cm, a galvanized metal profile 2x1 meters in the amount of two pieces, thick sheet metal from 2 mm with dimensions of 90x15 cm, as well as nuts, bolts, washers.

It should be noted right away that working with gas cylinders requires compliance with safety measures and safety measures. So, first of all, you need to make sure that there is no gas in them. After that, use an adjustable wrench to unscrew all the taps. It is recommended to use a vice for this. A crowbar can also come in handy. Then the gasoline should be drained from the cylinders. It must be removed before work without fail, as this substance burns perfectly.

To create a battery, you will need to cut off the neck of all cylinders, and two of the four also have the bottom. To ensure the safety of all work, we fill the cylinders with water to the brim. This will eliminate the risk of "interaction" with explosive vapors. You also need to check the water for the presence of a gasoline film. To do this, we dip a sheet of paper into a balloon, take it out and try to set it on fire. If the wet paper caught fire, it means there is a lot of gasoline in the water - we drain everything and fill in a new one. Before cutting, the cylinders should be marked.

Cut off cylinder caps can be used to create battery doors. Thick washers are needed here. You can make a locking mechanism from pieces of reinforcement. All elements must be massive enough not to burn out. After creating the doors, we make an ash pan in cylinders.

It is easiest to cut it with a grinder according to preliminary markings along the entire bottom. The resulting strips are welded at the opened hole at an angle of 90 degrees. The bottom of the ash pan can be made from a piece of sheet metal.

The cylinders must be welded together as carefully as possible. Do not forget to make a chimney after that on the far side of the pipe and the place of fasteners for the deflector. We solve the blowing problem using a regular hairpin.
