The RT-Khimkompozit holding of the State Corporation Rostec has successfully completed industrial testing of an innovative construction polymer that has no Russian analogues.

The production of the material is organized on the basis of the Research Institute of Polymers - the enterprise is part of the Rostec subsidiary RT-Khimkompozit.

Sheet structural foam, produced under the brand name "Akrimid", has a record heat resistance and is resistant to chemical attack. The material is used as a lightweight filler in the manufacture of multilayer parts made of fiberglass and carbon fiber, the inner skin of spacecraft, aircraft, engine fairings, hulls for small aircraft and unmanned vehicles, etc. The material is also used in the production of composite hulls and deck elements of ships and boats, hull structures of radar equipment.

"Structural foamed polymers are an indispensable material in the production of a wide variety of civilian and military products. The introduction of domestic development will allow us to abandon imported analogs in strategically important industries: the production of spacecraft, aviation technology, shipbuilding, radio electronics. The material has already been tested at Rostec and our partners - in the KRET concern, UAC, High-Precision Complexes, Ruselectronics, Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation, Roscosmos State Corporation and the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The results show that the development is at least not inferior in its technical characteristics to foreign models ", - said the executive director of the State Corporation Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko.
