The dungeon has always attracted a person with its mystical mystery and mystery. Throughout human history, there have been many legends and myths about the existence of entire civilizations deep underground. And today scientists, together with adventurers, are trying to find the answer to the most important question: maybe the underworld is not a fairy tale, but reality? As it turned out, recent finds and studies have shown that one should not underestimate the version of the existence of life in the bowels of the earth.

Over the past few decades, archaeologists have discovered hundreds of voids in the earth's crust. Many of the caves were found by ordinary people by accident. Exploring such underground catacombs, experts increasingly began to stumble upon the objects of life of the mysterious inhabitants of the underground. Sinking deeper and deeper to the center of the Earth, scientists came to the conclusion that under us is a "web" of tunnels and passages with a huge length of thousands of miles. Some discoveries are simply shocking, because sometimes traces of entire underground cities with their own infrastructure are found.

Not so long ago, in one of the university libraries in the city of Cuzco in the Andes, a document was found reporting the death of a group of French and American researchers. The tragedy befell the archaeologists in 1952, when they discovered an underground entrance in the area of the city and began preparations for the descent. The expedition, which consisted of seven people, planned to stay underground for no more than five days, but something went wrong. Only after 15 days on the surface managed to be only one - the Frenchman Philippe Lamontiere. In his hands he held a golden ear of corn that had been found in the dungeon. The archaeologist himself could not answer anything about this. The scientist said only that his comrades fell into a bottomless abyss. The emaciated man showed symptoms of bubonic plague. Three days later, Lamontiere died, and the local authorities, fearing a terrible virus, decided to block the entrance to the ill-fated cave with a huge reinforced concrete slab.

After a while, Raul Rios Centeno, a specialist who studies the history of the ancient Incas, together with a team of other "cave" lovers decided to follow the route of the missing group of archaeologists again. Descending into the dungeon, the expedition stumbled upon a long corridor resembling a ventilation pipe. Suddenly, the infrared ray stopped reflecting on the walls of the tunnel, and when the scientists decided to scrape off the sample from the wall, they failed. The wall cladding was aluminum and so strong that no existing tool could handle it. The researchers continued on their way, but when the corridor narrowed to one meter, the group was forced to return.

Global tunnels of Russia

On the territory of the Russian Federation there is a huge system of underground passages and tunnels. A certain part of this dungeon has already been well studied by specialists. For example, Pavel Miroshnichenko, a specialist in artificial structures, drew lines of large-scale passages on the map of the former Soviet Union that extend from the Crimean peninsula to the Medveditskaya ridge. It is known that this cluster of hilly mountains is considered the strongest geo-anomalous territory. And the local population living nearby christened it "Devil's Lair".

The caves found in the Medveditskaya ridge have surprisingly smooth walls, which is absolutely not inherent in cracks or faults formed as a result of natural phenomena. Experts claim that they are created using unique technologies that are unknown to mankind to this day. Efforts to unravel the mystery of this dungeon constantly fail. According to the researchers, something keeps them from moving deeper into the caves all the time. Descending into the tunnel, people are seized by a strong feeling of fear, terrible headaches begin, blood pressure rises, and even hallucinations occur. Once a group of scientists, which went as deep as possible into the dungeon, was stopped by hundreds of ball lightning, which prevented the researchers from moving forward. Unfortunately, after the Great Patriotic War, many of the entrances to the tunnels were destroyed and blocked.

Derinkuyu Underworld, Turkey

Perhaps the history of this Turkish town can rightfully be called one of the most striking proofs of the existence of inhabitants in the depths of the underground. Scientists' research even speaks of the existence of an entire civilization in the "lower world" - the underground city of Derinkuyu.

In 1963, a local resident of the Turkish city of Derinkuyu, after whom the amazing underground find was named, discovered a strange crack in his own basement. A fresh stream of air was coming out of the hole. Driven by curiosity, the man began to break the basement floor and … saw a strange tunnel. Soon the "gap" was presented to scientists, who discovered in it a multi-tiered underground city, connected by multiple passages.

Studies have shown that the labyrinth-city hidden underground is truly unique and striking in its scale: 12 levels go deep into the earth by almost 90 meters, and the total area is 2.5 thousand square meters. However, according to some scientists, the dimensions of the ancient underground structure are much larger and include about ten more floors that remain unexplored.

It is also surprising that, creating the underground state, the ancient builders did not forget to supply the city with a unique complex of systems and activities that ensure human life. The communications of the underground empire were thought out to the smallest detail. There are food warehouses, bedrooms, dining rooms, special rooms for keeping animals, huge meeting rooms, schools and places of worship. In addition, the granite doors could easily block the entrances to the dungeon in a matter of seconds. The blocking device remains in good working order to this day. And the ventilation system, which operates smoothly even today, is able to supply the city with fresh air!

The ancient worlds left to their descendants a lot of mysteries, over which even the most experienced scientists "rack their brains" today. Experts in the field of history and archeology are trying to understand: who and why built entire cities underground? The answers to all these questions still remain a mystery.
